Kahikatea need willing workers to stand up for the environment!
Posted May 28th, 2008 - 6:06 am by from Kongsberg, Norway (Permalink)
We are Kahikatea Eco-Village & Art-Space, a non-for profit organization situated on 18 acres of bushland in Albany, Auckland, New Zealand. We are home to 45 ecologically minded artists, students and professionals.

We are preparing for our next large scale Art Exhibition and Festival, called STAND UP! STAND UP! Artists Unite for the Environment. This is going to be a very important event for us, because Kahikatea Village, despite being home to many native species, Lucas Creek and the largest stand of Kahikatea Trees on the North Shore, is in danger of getting sold ( oh no!). Our worst fear is that it will get sold to developers and turned into in-fill housing. STAND UP! STAND UP! is our last chance to prove to the public that this land is worth saving, and that the wider community can benefit from Kahikatea and all we have offer.

This is the part where you come in, lovely willing workers and fellow couchsurfers! We need energetic, community minded people to join us and our colorful crew to make the best event we can possibly have.
We invite you to come in and enjoy this incredibly stunning place and help out for a great cause. In return we'll offer you free accomodation, gratefullness, and the chance to make a positive change and a mark in history!

Please email kahikatea.village@gmail.com, or email me through my cs profile if you're interested. Also spreading the word would be of great help as the more public support we have the better so please let your friends know to!

We look very much forward to hearing from you!
