trip from austria via batlics to finland - Motorcycle Riders

I was going to do that, I did a lot of reading, but finally trip was canceled.

A friend has been up there (Baltic States and Finnland)

I don't believe there's something to be worry about. You are going to friendly places, I mean riding friendly, not deserts and mountains.
In the begining of September I'll be in Austria, but mostly SE.

Hello Julia.
You will be fine riding those countries. Feel free to ask me anything about Finland (thats where I live) I´m also hosting in Vaasa. Finland has so many small lakes inside the country and hills up north. Nice places to go by bike in summertime.

your idea is not so crazy! It's my plan too when I have enough time someday...

To your question: I just met a guy who went the exact trip 4 years ago and he advised me not to go through russia - he and his mates made very bad experiences.
but I wouldn 't take that for granted and ask surfers here how they feel about it... a women alone can be something very dieffernt than 5 longhaired guys on harleys... but that's all really prejudging...

He was very fond of polland and the other baltic countries and said the people were most heartwarming. you should take a canister for extra gasoline and in countries like lettland/litauen/estland stay on the mainroads unless you want to ride on sandroads.

Hey thanks to all of you for your tips and help!

Unfortunatelly I won´t go to finland via baltics by bike. At least not this summer ;)
Cause my plans changed a bit. I will be in the Netherlands for few months (working) and i hope i will find there some nice biking tours around this area maybe up to sweden ;)
