World cruise

Anyway we are going on a cruise in January 2013 traveling from Southampton doing most of South America pacific islands Australia New Zealand Hawaii Up to San Francisco Mexico and back to Europe via the Panama Canal, We would love to meet some local people in por ports f call not sure how to go about this , any ideas?

We were there two years ago and used the monorail we really enjoyed that . But would love to see a bit more Maria
