MILLION MEMBER MARCH POTLUCK, "BREAKFAST CLUB"-STYLE!
Posted March 12th, 2009 - 3:45 am by from North Hollywood, United States (Permalink)
This month, members of CouchSurfing are getting together to celebrate the milestone of the one millionth member to join our global community! Since its creation, one million people have signed up through our network to open their minds through travel and friendship and prove that people can learn to trust each other across cultural barriers!

So let's celebrate with a huge potluck/music jam at the library, "Breakfast Club"-style!

Bring your friends, family, classmates, co-workers, neighbors and CS guests! Bring food! Bring musical instruments! Bring games! Let's celebrate! If it gets too packed, we can move to the park across the street!

Some of your CS Ambassadors will be on-hand to answer questions during a short Q&A period, which will be filmed and uploaded to Youtube to help spread the word about this global community we share!

Hope to see you there! And remember, let's leave the place better than we found it so we don't get detention!

So how did the Potluck go?

I was in Nashville for what turned out to be a 4th-Sunday Potluck so everyone got confuddled. Maybe we need to assign a more specific date to the potlucks much like the Election Day rules:

3rd Sunday Potlucks shall be held every month of the calendar year on the third Sunday following the first Monday of the month. ;)

Anyway, thought I'd check in and see how Chicago does 'em up. Let's see those war stories!

Kansas Pete

Sorry, just saw this Pete. Now that it's warming up, I'll be more active in keeping this running in Chi-town.

We had a good turnout, but no food! So after heading outside to enjoy the warm weather at a nearby park, 14 of us stopped off at a local market to get some ingredients...then we went back to my apartment and cooked up a healthy vegan meal! Soup, salad and pasta...for only $2 per person!

I miss you cats in Nashville, but I'm sure our paths will cross again one day!
