Hi all,

I am original from Madrid but I am currently living in London. I am going to Madrid on the 19th of October for 10 days.

What about if we organise a language exchange around the city centre, 'La Latina', 'Huertas', 'Tribunal' to have some tapas and cañas. I am always willing to improve my English and meet new people.

Cheers,
Juan

Hi everyone - I'm Scottish and living in Madrid, also teaching English in a school like you, Mallory. I speak pretty fluent Spanish and I study French at university too - so I'd be very interested in a 3 way language exchange. Is the definite date for meeting up next Thursday 25th??

If possible it might be nice to go somewhere Spanish? But I don't mind!

Yes, of course. I would prefer something typical Spanish.

In Huertas/Sol/La Latina, there are a few places:

- 100 Montaditos (Plaza Santa Ana), I think one jug of beer is 1 euro (every day) if you buy a tapa (1 euro).
- Nueva Galicia (Near Plaza Santa Ana), this is the typical Spanish bar, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, jam-packed with young people. Cheap drinks (spirits): 5 euro. The alcohol is good and you know how drinks are in Spain, not like in England with the single and double drinks. This is a proper drink!!.
- Museo del Jamon (in sol). 1 small beer (caña)= 1 euro.

La Sureña: Cava Baja, 15 or calle Toledo, 12: 5 bottle of beer 3 euros. It is very popular and it is completely crowded because it is quite cheap.

And there are plenty of bars in La Latina, but a bit more expensive.

Let me know your thoughts.

If I had more time or if I were living in Madrid I could have organised a pub crawl around the city, visiting typical Spanish bars.
