CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to give youths the ability + skills to use music and technology to better their lives. Also to open peoples mind about couchsurfing.

ABOUT ME

"A finger in every pie"

Definition:
. . . . . . . . To be active in many things & try new things.

Background:
. . . . . . . . . This old saying originated by kitchen visitors who couldn't resist testing the food by sticking a finger into it, and licking said finger.

_ _ _

Me?!?
Hmm.... errr.... Well...

...as the saying goes i like to try new things. I also come from the land of pie's. Just outside of Melton Mowbray in fact! For a proper pie go there, it takes four days to make one!

I'd also say i'm like a box of British broken biscuits! As i like a lot of things, i am a variety of things bundled into one. Though sadly my memory isn't the best so i'm a bit broken!

I like being happy, open minded, and having a positive outlook on life.
I like to listen, laugh and make people feel good about themselves.
I like to smile, kiss and hug people too!

I'm a young English man, i enjoy experiencing new things, particularly food, i enjoy tasting new things.
I like to explore and see what made a place and what makes the place what it is today.
The present is just as important to me as is the history. I like to take pictures and capture my memories.
I also love music, and love it more when i play with people and make music by accident with no fear of playing a "wrong" note.

I believe i am polite, welcoming, sensible and silly.

PHILOSOPHY

As i have struggled through my early years of life, i couldn't of got to where i am without all the support people gave me. That is why i believe in helping others, particularly people who want to make their lives better but don't have the equipment, skills and through my work i try to provide that for them.
I particularly empathize with people with learning difficulties and make a point of trying to offer alternative learning methods, usually more practical so they are more effective, empowering and follows their interests.

Smile.... it'll make you feel good inside and it'll make me smile too!
Hug... hugs, warm you up and apparently make you live longer!

# I get a lot of requests, and so if you would like to be hosted by me, i would suggest you make your request personal mentioning things from my profile, and why you'd like to meet me, than the other couchsurfers here. It is obvious when a request has been copied & pasted, so don't lie about this. Couchsurfing is about trust. #

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently i am living in Galicia, Spain.

I'm mainly a hoster, this is due to my full time job, but when i do get time off, i like to explore Spain, UK and the world if i'm lucky.

So far i have Couchsurfed with lovely guests in
*Glasgow,
*Edinburgh,
*Melton,
*Oakham,
*São João da Pesqueira,
*Lisbon,
*Madrid
*Miguelturra
*Rio de Janeiro
*Austria
*Poland
*France
*Spain

This i hope to expand.

My only request, on hosting you is:
I'd like a picture of 'you' and me, so i can add it to my album to remind me of good times!

In the words of Mark Twain:
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.

Explore. Dream. Discover."

Music, Movies, and Books

For an insight into my music tastes I have 5TB of music! Over my lifetimes worth of music, so I'm willing to listen to anything.
I would like to try and appreciate screamal/death metal music, perhaps you can help me?

For an insight into my movie tastes, I will watch anything, but particularly keen in documentaries, nature, politics, history.. anything I can learn from.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Helped a young disabled girl move her leg which she was unable to do before.

Made a dream become a reality for an old man, that had never had a holiday, as he had worked all of his life.

Fought by phone & email for 6 months for a client to get his flat safe to live in, after years in a dirty damp flat, that others supporting him had never managed to do.

First blow job. lol
Found a secret island that you could only get to during the spring when the tide went low enough for you to walk along a underwater path.

Sang at George Square in Glasgow for the Olympic games and sang to a crowd of 17,000 people, being just 1 of 3 bands selected for the event.

Also sang at George Square on New Year's Eve with my Hattrick band, a local choir, and then played a Ceilidh with stomach poisoning, needing to run to the toilet several times the most exciting, fun, adrenaline awful feeling!

Teach, Learn, Share

As a Teacher:

I could talk about dementia + working in care homes,

The importance of community arts working with minority groups in society and how much it is needed to help the generations before/after us.

How canning and pouch petfood factories work,

I'd like to tell you about England, Scotland + Cornwall sharing my experiences.

I could teach you some music or we can take funny photos in interesting places.

I do pole fitness, so I'd be happy to take you to a class and show you its not just for strippers.

I will teach you whatever interests you, if I can haha :)

As a Student:

I'm willing to learn about other peoples views on all topics,

I like to debate + think,

I'm interested in religion, particularly less popular ones. I am not religious but want to learn about others beliefs.

I would like to learn your language + culture.

But don't worry I'm also down for just chilling :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have lived all over the UK, and happy to tell you of places to visit if you were to come over, and also invite you to my place!

Ask me to pop out my USB of music, film + everything else, and you can have some extra UK info to view whilst on your travels or for your journey back home.
