Life + CouchSurfing

An inspiring culture

The couches in our giant sky-lit office in San Francisco are comfy, but we still remember coding from a thatched banana leaf hut in Thailand until the batteries ran out on our laptops. CouchSurfing was built on passion and a shoestring, and although our circumstances have changed our culture hasn't: we ignore convention when it doesn't suit creativity. We seek the thrill that comes from true innovation. We are making the world a better place and pushing ourselves to our peak, every day.

Find meaning in your work

People tell us that since they started using CouchSurfing, their lives have never been the same. Hearing that is the greatest reward for doing what you do. Every day, over 6,000 people from every country in the world will meet in person as a direct result of your work.

But the big picture isn’t the only reason to love your work. At CouchSurfing, we know that an effective team is happy and engaged. You need to be surrounded with talented, passionate co-workers who are pushing you to go one better every time. You want an environment where performance trumps tradition. You need a harder challenge than yesterday, like building a network that inspires strangers to become friends. That's why you're here.
