Vienna CS Stammtisch on the 11th of July 2011

Dear Couchsurfers in, from and comming to Vienna!

Our next monthly meeting - the legendary Stammtisch is approaching. This time we will have a SUMMER ‘SPLASH’ BARBECUE and we invite YOU to join!

TIME and PLACE:
On 11th of July we start at 4:30 pm on Danube Island at the BBQ place No 10 - which is already known from the Vienna Calling 2011 base: http://www.vienna-calling.net/baseimg/grillplatz10map_hires.jpg

WHAT to BRING:
Bring your swim suit, towel and (if you cannot swim) some water wings!

FOOD+DRINKS:
We supply coal and grill plates. We also provide beer (Vienna Calling 2011 style)! So bring everything else you need, like plates, forks, knifes and of course food (meat, sausages, bread...) + if you don't want beer or we run out of beer, your own drinks.

TOILETS:
There are public toilets near the base which are usually in good condition, but sometimes go out of paper, so better have your own.

ALTERNATIVES:
In case of bad weather - an alternative waterproof location will be announced - check out the Stammtisch post in the Vienna Main Group before leaving your house!

THE FREE BOX:
The Vienna Sustainability group is honoured to be present with the Free Box also at this Stammtisch :-) So feel free to bring stuff you would like to share and have fun with the FREE BOX

How It Works:
1. find and bring something (small) that you don't need anymore
2. take a sticker and write a brief description of your item
3. put the sticker on the item and place it into the "Free Box"
4. take an item in exchange and enjoy its story

what: A free box is a concept derived from recycling. People possessing objects no longer necessary/needed can put these items into the free box in order to donate them for free to other people.

why: By using the free box, people can get rid of items that are too good to throw out, and at the same time get some new stuff! This way nothing gets thrown away, and more importantly, it reduces the need to purchase the new item.

how: You will find blank papers on which you can write a brief description of the item which you will be placing in the free box. Whoever takes your item will not only have a new item, but also a brief description of why your item is so damn great. Not only will this leave a lasting memory, but everyone ends up with something new and exotic for free :-)

when: 8.30-11.30 pm ca. It will be easy to find the "Free Box" sign!
