Matt is the King of Alaska, he knows everybody;) It was very nice to stay at his house, to meet his mother, his friends (specially our last lunch, heheheh). Thank you a lot and see you in Boston! Have already couch available;)

Matt is a great guy, so nice, helpfull with every little questions you could have. He cares a lot about his surfers. We spent days together into the car during our road trips South and then North Alaska. He spent his free days from work with me and he was so patient of me taking so many pictures. Thanks Matt, I promise, I will e-mail all those beautiful pics to you. He introduced me with his friend Bill and his wife Emily. Such great people, fun to be around. With Bill we had a great river trip, delicious haunted food and a lot of laugh !
I had great adventures with Matt and his friends.

Oh yes, one more thing: with Matt, be ready to party as soon as you land if it's on Friday night ! Girls have your high hills ready ! No, I'm kidding, in Alaska "casual" is ok and Matt doesn't force anybody!

I had a blast with Matt. When I got to Alaska I didnt know anyone. So we hung out and partied like rockstars all night long. Good times.

 

Matt's a cool dude, good friend material. Wish we could hang out more in ANC. Truth is, though, we're both into traveling so much I'm positive I'll bump into him in the future. Cheers bro!

 

I met Matt through a mutual CS friend, but virtually all of my CS friends know him and speak highly of him. After nearly two years of hearing of Matt's greatness, I finally got to meet him and can confirm what all my friends have told me of him: He's awesome!

Matt is a nice person and was the first born Alaskan that i met!

He is pretty passionate about adventure which was great to hear about.

It was all arranged pretty quick all at the same day - i asked he answered... and he showed me arround anchorage, I had a great time! Matt is one of the nicest people I've met to Evryone!

Thanks Matt for everything! Your good ideas for spending time together. I felt comfortable with Matt all the time. He have unusual ideas for a lot of staff. When I told him than I didn't have driver license, He sad: No Problem :) Everything was easy with him. Best wishes for You, Your friends and very good family. Matt is one of the few people I might describe as crazier than me...but don't worry Matt, that's a good thing. He's always getting people together and cruising the town -- very outgoing and welcoming to all us newbies! Sorry I couldn't make it to that dive bar -- just can't keep up with the youngins anymore! ;)

Matt planned the first CS event I went to while I was in Anchorage, and showed us around the town and it was lots of fun!

 

Matt was a great introduction for me to the CS scene when I came to Alaska. We've shared beers and travel stories and introductions both to visiting and local CSers. If I ever get to Ukraine, I hope he's there to help me find my way!

I finally got to meet Matt after over a year trying to meet up. I was originally going to try to see him over a year ago in NL after some time talking about it in Chat. We finally got to meet in Valencia. Twice!! I had a great time with you bro. Till the next time we meet.

 

Great to have met Matt in Valencia after seeing each other in chat for quite a while.Matt is always on the go and has lots of travel stories to tell.

 

I was intrigued by Matt's trip to Timbuktu when I met him in Homer. He introduced me to Anchorage nightlife on the evening I was flying out of Alaska (made me want to stay!) and impressed me with his travelling anecdotes while showing me round Coote's. Matt's a great CS guy!

Matt is like my little brother, we always talk about so many things, I give him my opinion when he doesn't want it and he fights back :-)
When he was robbed in Barcelona, I went to the police station with him as a translator and had to explain to the police that next to important things, also red inflatable air plane pillow was stolen and he wants to declare that as well.
Dr. Fleishman has a good sense of humor, not that everyone understands him at all times and he is extremely intelligent, however he hides it very well:-)

Matt is a very easy going, intelligent and adventurous person. He never ceases to amuse me. Every time I hear from him [via text/email/phone] he's in a different part of the world. He lives to travel and it's something I aspire to do as well. He's very inspiring.
We also drank tequila together and I don't do that with just anybody. Maybe next time we'll sip on tequila in Mexico. Who knows..possibilities are endless!

Did I mention that he's the one that introduced me to CS many many years ago?

Matthew is a very interesting,smart guy, charming and easygoing (maybe too easygoing sometimes:D). If he promises something, I am 99% sure that he will do it - that's why I appreciate him so much;)
Matt came to Spb for a couple of days, and I hope I did my best to make him feel the atmosphere of my city.
He is a great traveller and just a good guy:)

Matt is realy good person. Adventurous and full of traveler's stroies. It is soooo interesting talking to him. You may learn lots of good and interesting things from him.Extremly good driver...he perfectly managed to drive old YUGO ! :-)

Matt has a cool head and a lot of kinetic energy.

 

I spent one week with Matt in Juneau. He was really charming, kind and helpful. He drove me to the end of the road, prepared a delicious halibut and showed me a big and wild side of Alaska...

update: 20 May 2009, thanks to him my mission in Anchorage was accomplished. :D

I came for two weeks- Matt hosted me the whole time and also was extremely willing to help me accomplish my whole check list of adventures! He is a top notch guy!

He set me up with a car, a couch, lot's of information about Alaska and Anchorage area, and a great party, and that all in 24 hours!
Also tried to introduce me to Jagemeister, but am not sure if I would like to do that again ;-)

He invited me visiting him in Alaska and I had to say that it was a great experience. Nice city, nice people, food, and a great guy, all in one package =) Keep practicing salsa!

 

I had a great time with Matt and Dave! Funny guys =) They stayed at my place and we drove down to the seaside together. You're always welcome to stay at my place.

Matt is so awesome. Very independent and self-reliant but so nice and fun to talk to. I enjoyed all of his stories and free advice on where to travel (this guy has been everywhere!).

Matt was passing through Seattle from Alaska on his way further south... we picked him up at the airport and headed over to 13 Coins for some delicious food, then we dropped him off at the hotel so he could get a few hours of sleep before flying out the next day. Matt is quite the world traveler and was fun to talk to and get to know for a couple of hours. Nice guy!

No couch surfing experience, but pretty close. He found me a place to stay when I move to Alaska. I think that's pretty cool... it's more long term than what couch surfing harbors. :D

 

I met Matt at a Tribe party in Alaska one cold winter in 2004. We hit it off immediately and then discovered that we shared a mutual love for adventure and world travel. The more I have learned about him, the more and more impressed I have become. Every time I hear from him he is off in some other place doing some other random and interesting thing. He's top notch, yo! I wonder where we will run into each other next?

 

I met Matt whilst travelling in Sydney. He is a great guy who has a passion for travel. He also has a great general knowledge. Hopefully some day he will make it back to Melbourne where it will be my pleasure to show him around. Matt, some day I will make it to Alaska mate, and we can share all our travel stories in person.

I didn't sleep on his couch exactly, but I did sleep on the floor of his room in the train we took across Russia, in addition to sharing rooms in various hostels and home stays.

For Alacka guy my doors will open forever! Any couch wth that Alacka guy will looks Great!Very nice,don't afraid cold russ weather&cold wather in Finland Gulf;-) Like parties,russ vodka and speak in Russian,when drunk (joking)! My mother said about him:"oh, he's so sweet."
It was cool time, but very short!

Very Helpful Host. Matt was a great host. He gave me a place to stay, he drove me around places, and even got me a job. What more can you ask for? Very cool guy.
