If I accept your request, I will ask you for your emergency contact information.
Hope you like psy-trance, because you'll be listening to it a lot while you're here. As in, all the time. Check this out to see what I've been listening to:
You also need to read my profile. I like that and give brownie points to people who write funny couch surfing requests. I don't particularly care for requests that have obviously been cut & pasted.
If you are male, you must be down with cross-dressing and getting your fingernails painted. You need to tell me in your request what your favorite item of women's clothing is to try on. Oh, and your favorite nail polish color. And no, I'm not joking about getting your nails done.
If you're female, please tell me what your guilty pleasure is - whether it be eating bacon & peanut butter sandwiches or covering yourself with tar & feathers and biking about naked.
If you don't mention one of the following in your couch request: your fav nail polish color, fav item of women's clothing or guilty pleasure, you must at the very least say "When I leave your home, I will have a new appreciation for psy-trance!" If none of these are mentioned in your request, it is more than likely that you will be turned down.
Your chances will improve if:
- You're German and you bring me Katjes Salzige Herringe
- You help with the dirty dishes

Types of People I enjoy
Nice ones.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy learning about xeriscape gardening (low water-use gardening) and composting. If you are interested, I can give you all sorts of advice on how to knock your garden into shape!
I have a small (okay, huge) succulent and cactus fetish - I covet unusual sorts of succulents and am continuously collecting (late at night, under the cover of darkness) for my garden!
I love experimenting! I created my first Kombucha SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast) about 2 years ago. For a while, it was a science experiment gone wild and I was selling kombucha at Underground Markets around the Bay Area. I have also branched out in my fermentation experiments and make my own yogurt, kefir & sauerkraut. Next up is vermiculture - in my flat!!! Woo hoo - very exciting!
One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done
Having a low flying fighter jet cruise over me in BFE So. Colorado was a rather thunderous & ground shaking experience.
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.

Amy is an amazing person and a wonderful host. She showed me San Fran like I've never seen it before. We went swimming in the bay, I rode a bike all over town in heels and a dress and then to top it all off she introduced me to Burning Man! Hugs. Thank you so much. Can't wait to hang out some more :-)

Amy has super energy, and great stories. I love how her eyes and smile light up with the right kind of mischievous right before she's about to share one of those stories!
I had the pleasure of being hosted by Amy and her wonderful cats! Although she was very busy with her study, she brought me to a nice picnic in Dolores park and also showed me nice streets in San Francisco, those that nobody can found in any travel guide! Also we had really nice conversation and for me also very very interesting!
I hope to see you again and you have to come once in Italy!!
Amy's an awesome individual, full of life experience and so much fun to be around. Anyone hosting her or being hosted by her will surely have a memorable experience. Nothing like those early AM farmers markets hawkin' bread!

Amy's super nice. I serendipitously sat next to her in CCSF's DELICIOUS cafeteria. Just barely accidentally met eachother finally after corresponding/talkin on the forums for years! We talked and talked. I like her. :)
Amy contacted me a few weeks before I visited San Francisco. We knew each other profiles from some CS groups. After having various chats on skype for weeks we met up a few times in San Francisco. Amy is a good person i trust and she gave me a great time hanging out in San Francisco. Im very sure we will keep in touch on skype and I cant wait to meet her the next time, hopefully in Berlin this time.
I spent an evening in SF with Amy and CS friends and enjoyed her company very much. Whether just fun or a more intellectual talk - whichever you choose - Amy will go for it in a cheerful mode.
I am glad that I met her.
Amy was our first couchsurfing host and I guess we couldn't have been more lucky!
She explored San Francisco with us and showed us her favourite restaurant in China Town. While walking thruogh the city she told us a lot about San Francisco ~ very valuable!
She was very open and friendly and we had very nice chats with her. The story of her life is very interesting and she has a lot of experiences she is willing to share. It was also nice that she spoke German like a native!
We are still taken with her combucha which was delicious... At the moment we are trying to find someone willing to share the combucha mushroom with us.
It was a pleasure to surf Amy's couch and to get to know her and her cats!
