Personal DescriptionI babysit for these girls. They say I have a weird and crazy face...but they LIKE IT!How I Participate in CSI am an ambassador, and I do my best to be as welcoming to anyone in the Couch Surfing community. I host, I surf, I dream about hosting, I think about where I will surf next. I am trying to help build a stronger network of surfers everywhere I go.CouchSurfing ExperienceI have now Couch Surfed in Africa, Europe, Central America, the Middle East and the US. I have hosted a bunch of people in my Soviet apartment in Kolomiya, Ukraine. My first experience was in Vegas, and I was immediately hooked! I have made some really amazing friends through this site, and hope to make many more.InterestsTravel. Dancing! Saving the world...kinda. Love. Decorating my flat. Setting kitchen on fire. Music. Movies (copious amounts). Riding bikes. Exploring. Reading the New Yorker. Tabasco. Freezing Cold Drinking Water. Drafts (the breezy kind, the beer kind, but not the government kind). Knitting. Sleeping in my sleeping bag in my room and pretending I'm camping. Friends. Couch Surfing (hosting you/surfing your couch). Laughter. Love. Travel. Travel. Travel! Pilates. Listening to Podcasts and music. Walking around town. Walking on the beach! Trying to not get bit by evil dogs (score one for evil dogs, none for me). Trying to not get bit by babies (score one babies, none for me) Hanging out with friends and their families. Dancing. The occasional somersault or cart-wheel.
It has also been said that I spin a mad hula hoopPhilosophyLife is good!
Make friends wherever you go and you'll never be lonely.
Music, Movies, BooksYes! :)Types of People I enjoyFun people who know how to laugh! A sense of humor is one of the most important things in life! Laid back people are my favorite, and I also enjoy someone who will just hang out and talk talk talk all night. Sincerity, kindness and dorkyness are all highly appreciated. When I am traveling, I enjoy people who have time to grab a drink with me and share our stories.Teach, Learn, ShareI can teach you to hula hoop, how to make a hoop and then decorate it.
I can teach you the best way to get from Berkeley to Alameda on a bike without popping a tire or getting hit by a car.
One Amazing Thing I've Seen or DoneI carried the torch for the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics.Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org ProjectI think that you only get to live life once, and that you should live it to the fullest. I think couchsurfing helps us do that by experiencing more culture when we travel around the world. Instead of getting to know more about life in a hotel in Cairo, you can actually learn about regular people's life in Cairo! I love it! My life has actually been taken over by CS, and some of my friends say, "Oh here she goes again..." I think it is good when you can get so excited about something like this. From Marya Saladukhina Minsk, Belarus Jan 18, 2008 Positive Andrea! :) I met this Sunny Smile in Kolomyia. Our chat was so lively and funny at the same time... From Brandon Gottung Madison, United States Dec 21, 2007 Positive Andrea provided a warm shelter during winter in the friendly town Kolomiya. I quickly became interested in her Peace Corps experience, she sacrificed much to help the Ukrainian youth, preventing them from becoming 'gopniks'. She is talkative and trusting, the kind of company someone can be comfortable with instantly. Her flat was a strange portal into America, which will prove valuable when I return.

From Megan Greising Denver, United States Apr 21, 2007 Positive Andrea is a crazy crazy wild woman in the best way possible! She is completely free of spirit, always interested in meeting new friends and learning about new cultures. My favorite recollections of her are clubbing, Sex and the City marathons, and walks in the park. This girl has more courage and indepdence than most people I know, and I bet she could tell you a thing or two about pretty much any hole-in-the-wall place you want to know about!
From Daniel Risman-Jones San Jeronimo Lidice, Mexico Jan 23, 2007 Positive She is so amiable and interesting to talk to. I passed about 24 hours on busses talking to her, she made the time go by so quickly. There are some people who you meet and you know you want to stay in contact with, and she is one of those. Can't wait until I hang out with her again. If you have the chance to host or just have coffee with her to hear her stories, jump on it.

They both were easy to talk to, charming and lots of fun. Andrea is one cool chick for sure. I would reccomend that you have this friendly, outgoing, smart, Peace Corp chica couch surf with you any time. She's always welcome to crash with us....even if it is an RV on the beaches of Malibu. |
