PLEASE READ THESE GUIDELINES BEFORE ASKING FOR COUCHSURFING WITH ME!
1) Be sure to have your own profile fully filled, along with some pictures, as I can also see who I am going to host!
2) Explain the reasons of your visit, if you come to visit places and monuments or enjoy the nightlife and the beaches, or both of them and avoid to use a general request...so please NO COPY AND PASTE EMAILS!
3) Send a request in advance (1 or 2 weeks before your arrival is perfect), as I run out my own business and I work weekly and I am out of my place several times and I have to see if there is the possibility to host you. I prefer to spend time with the couchsurfers I am hosting and show them my city and everything they can see here, instead of seeing them for a few minutes...couchsurfing is not a free B&B or a free hostel!! By the way, I am flexible too :-) I can manage last minute couchrequests... No worries ;-)
4) Bring possibly your own sleeping bag, or bed linings and blankets, I can provide them sometimes but not all the time, so it is better if you have your own things.
5) Generally the best time for me to have availability of my couch is during the weekends, but let me know in advance to see my schedule, you never know it!!
OF COURSE, I AM REALLY FLEXIBLE :-) DONT BE SCARED FROM ALL THESE GUIDELINES!!! I need to feel you wanna surf my couch and meet me, instead of having just a free bed :-)
If you follow the guidelines (more or less :-)) and you like to couchsurf with me, then you find the informations of my couch:
I live in the city center of Sciacca, close to the harbour area during the winter time, but during the summer I move in my countryhouse. I live by myself and the availability of my couch depends on how busy I am. Absolutely nice location close to bars and cafes. Restaurants, shops and offices are close to the house too. Beaches are really behind our door and you can get there by public transportation (These informations are about the house in which I live during the winter time).
During the summer, I move on my apartment in the countryside, where I work, so it could be possible I can host you here too.
In both apartments I have spare rooms so in any case you will have your own bed in the room instead of a real couch!
To get to Sciacca:
From Palermo, you have to catch up a bus, there are several ones every day, this is the link of the bus company with timetable: BUS FROM PALERMO TO SCIACCA

I am fun, creative, honest and absolutely excited about life and little nice things can make us happy! I am a curious person, may be due to my scientific background, I love to know and tell stories, to meet people, because I think it is the beginning of a fantastic trip to know more about ourselves. I talk a lot, I cant live without talking, you should kick me on my head to stop it! :-) But at the same time, I can say that I try to find a sort of equilibrium and I have my moments of hard thinking, searching always for new ideas! This is just what came up in my mind to write about myself, the rest you will discover it!
I enjoy also to know the places of people visit my couchsurfing-page! :-)
We dont have to divide any feelings or anything, but live life as one incredible and amazing experience!
You have to imagine an island to make this island possible, a real place to be! I am a dreamer...
I love the idea of this couchsurfing project and I will do all my best to contribute to make couchsurfing very well known all over the world!
CouchSurfing Experience
I had several couchsurfing experiences and all these gave me something beautiful that I can take with for my life, it is a fantastic idea the possibility to know people from all around the world and exchange several opinions taking into considerations the cultural differences!
I have hosted and surfed in different countries here in Europe!
I have organized the first three CS meetings for the Carnival in Sciacca on 2007, 2008 and 2009!
I have organized the CS pre-party meeting in Barcelona (Spain) on the 30 of december 2007! I have organized other small meetings in Sciacca and around!
I am planning to organize other CS meetings and of course to host and surf other couches around the world!
Interests
Cooking any kind of food...even if Arancine are the best ones! :-)
Enjoy life drinking a nice coffee with friends or staring at the sun in a beach, reading, doing sports, travelling, dancing (salsa and merengue!)...
I am interested and also involved in environmental consulting projects, as scientist I work on projects for the reduction and re-use of wastes, for the improvement and the protection of our planet!
I support projects like the "zero waste" strategy for a more sustainable world.
You can find several informations on this website:
ZERO WASTE STRATEGY I love chemistry and I am working actually on the public image of chemistry in the society and to teach chemistry in a funny way to kids and young students. I have a blog about chemistry and not only chemistry!
MY BLOG I am interested in buddhism, taoism and zen, I love the connections between them and the modern physics!
Philosophy
Life is a journey without destination...
Music, Movies, Books
My favourite movies at the moment are "Le conseguenze dell'amore" and "L'amico di famiglia" from P. Sorrentino! You have to watch them, absolutely great!
I hear any type of music, from hard rock to pop (english and italian ones) and lyrics.
Of course, you have to stare at the music of one of our best sicilian singer...Roy Paci...Here I add something from the concert was in Sciacca:
ROY PACI A SCIACCA I love reading also and Bruce Chatwin is one of my favourite writers
Types of People I enjoy
Fun, smart, creative and caring people
Teach, Learn, Share
Share.....Wow! It is the future! The knowledge is really important and the opportunity to share informations and experiences can improve and grow up our mind and thoughts. I am a chemist and I can share all my science :-) As a normal chemist, I love to mix and formulate, so cooking is a must and I can also teach how to cook italian and not only italian food with this sort of creativity and scientific way. I am interested in art and history and I will love to learn a lot of languages.
I can share also my ideas about environmental problems affecting our world and of course some ways to resolve them!
One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done
Swimming naked in Norway in a frozen strip of water in the Fjord's area...
Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org Project
There are no words to explain this great idea! It is simply the future, the new way of sharing a part of our life, to pass through walls and do a big effort to improve this world as our house, the house in which everyone of us is a part of this big family!
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.
