Smoking is alright in the house and no problem to using all our facilities.

If you play music, bring it on! Two guitarists live in the house.
You can say 'HURLING' to improve your chances as I will know then you have read some of my profile :p (Its the most popular sport around these parts)Just make your email personal, not generic!!!
Here's the deal:
- I AM NOT OFFERING MY PLACE AS A FREE HOSTEL!!!!
- Please do not waste my time & attention. I use Couchsurfing for INTERACTION AND CULTURAL EXCHANGE
- No couples. I don't like looking at people spending most of their time eating the face off of each other.Maybe you would be more suitable getting a hotel room instead.
- Please make an effort to fill out your profile before requesting my couch. If your profile is lacking detail and/ or references/ photos, I will probably ignore you.
- If I accept you, and your plans change, please let me know!! It's just common courtesy...

Personal DescriptionI work as a Sports Program assistant for the local Sport Partnership while coaching volleyball and handball on the side when I get time away from work. I play for the Irish team in both sports.
Other than that,I'm a fun loving, easy going lad with a passion for sports, travelling and music, among other things. I´m a dreamer and visionary. I hope that I can use my life to make the world a little nicer. To me changes are very important. That`s the reason why I like travelling so much, because you never know what you can expect and you can see things that are so much bigger that you.
Things most important to me would be acceptance of your fellow man/woman despite their flaws, an appetite for living life to its fullest, meeting new people from different people and learning about their background, culture and heritage. Do not be driven by money. Work to live, not live to work!

CouchSurfing ExperienceHaven't got outside Europe yet but before i entered university, the only places i ever went to were those poxy holidays resorts with the parents in Spain, hanging out with all the scumbag families. Although, i was on a Spanish exchange in Murcia when i was 16. Since then, i've been to Belgium, Holland, UK, Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, Czech Republic and Andorra.
I was in Paris for the buzz of the Rugby World Cup in 2007. Did it for the Soccer World Cup in Germany in 2006 as well. Fantastic!
Last year after I quit my job, I went on a CS trip to South Germany, mainly Bavaria and Baden hitchiking and couchsurfing my way around the place. Some adventure :)
In 2009, I went back to Germany for a training camp before jetting off to Malta where we played Finland, Scotland and Malta. Didnt get time to work on the tan again :( but i did get to party with some CSers after the tournament.
Last year I have been on 11 trips away
1)Gent,Belgium -handball tournament
2)Lubeck,Germany- more handball
3)Porto,Portugal- Just another Random 'Never seen the country before so I have to go there before I die' trek I like to take
4)I played a trad gig with another Irish couchsurfer in Utrecht, Holland for St Patrick's Day. Great experience there living on uni campus and belting out a few tunes while smoking the wacki tobacci :D
5) Biberach for more handball in March
6) Went to Andorra with Irish Volleyball team for Euro Qualifiers in June, met a few CSers there but it was all about the volleyball :p
7) Prague, few days in July
8) Bingen, Germany : more handball
9) Largs, Ayr, Scotland, more handball
10) Rennes, Nantes, France - CS, and to see a friend
11) Barcelona, Spain : one day to see a Champions League Handball game
I went to Berlin for St. Patrick's Day with the plan of busking at Postdamer Platz with Ireland's finest melodies but ended up playing beach volley with couchsurfers. This year I was in Lille, France to play Volleyball with Irish team and French Pro TeamsInterestsVOLLEYBALL, Handball, Tennis, Music(performing, playing and listening) Going out on the town, having a laugh Meeting New people from different backgrounds and of course Travelling to different countries PhilosophyLive life to the Max. Stand up for what You believe in, if you believe it's the right thing. Also, with my sport, I think of and use what Steve Prefontaine quoted: "To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift".Music, Movies, BooksHeavy metal, ska and reggae are my favourites, but any fusion of those genres is my type of heaven.
Tool and Chimaira are my top bands, along wit Ska-p
Don't read too many books unless its related to college, sport and comical.
I watch many movies but i have no favourites. I particularly like silly comedy ones(mainly cos they are funny when you're stoned),and loads of action.Types of People I enjoyEasy-going, open minded people with a lust for life.I like people who are independent and if they want to do something or say something they will do it, but within good reason! Also it's good if you can drink as much as I do! :D
Anyone with a good sense of humour and looking to have some fun will fit in just fine with me!Teach, Learn, ShareLife is just one big education lesson...Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have dreams don't have much. This is why fantasy can be part of our reality. Its all about making it happen. Go for it!
Usually if you stay with me, then an initiation will be enforced on you. It can be anything from playing sport-volleyball,badminton or table tennis, play or sing some song, a few beers or a few smokes!!! :POne Amazing Thing I've Seen or DoneI an currently representing Ireland in handball as a goalkeeper, but only 15 caps to my name although it should have been more,or rather it will be more.
And in March 2 years ago, I was given my official cap in an Irish jersey for volleyball as well. Then I was selected to play in Andorra for Euro Qualifiers where we played 4 matches. More to follow I hope....
I'm sure there is loads more stuff ive done that i think is amazing but i think theres a bullet lodged in my brain for now...Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org ProjectCS is FANTASTIC, its the business, lovin' it! It's like a 3rd family to me behind my actual family and volleyball but I dont know in which order :)
CouchSurfing is like broccoli. It has many stems, but only one stalk. It is the matrix of memorable experiences. Locations TraveledTRAVELED: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Scotland, Spain, Sweden LIVED: Ireland (Republic of)
What do these numbers mean?
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you. References (145)139Positive 5Neutral 1Negative

From Ophélie Liverpool, England Apr 23 Positive Benny hosted me and a friend in Kilkenny. We had a very good time. He is a very good musician and played us some songs he composed. We've also been to a nice pub with an open mic and I really enjoyed it. Kilkenny is full of talentuous musicians. We've also shared some crepes and vin rouge. Really good time with you Benny. Se you soon mate!
From Laurie Tarrit Clermont-Ferrand, France Dec 11, 2011 Positive We didn't met Benny, but his housemate Nick is really cool. he just hosted us so good, and take the time to speak with us, eat with us... From Zala Kham Ljubljana, Slovenia Aug 25, 2011 Positive I was hosted by Benny and his very hospital roommates. They are probable the most CS-ers friendly people. I felt welcomed and part of them. Benny is very easy-going person who likes to enjoy simplicity of life. He's very social. On the day of my arrival he organized BBQ party with his friends and other CS. He had great time!
