Personal Description

Strangers are friends you haven't met yet & the only normal people are ones you don't know very well. I am a student of life & a citizen of Earth. Let's mingle!

How I Participate in CS

In addition to hosting Couch Surfers, I am one of the founders of Couch Surfing Camp at Burning Man. I help make camp happen; pack all the camp stuff to and from the Playa, get camp set up and taken down, pick clean every inch of playa our camp occupied to ensure we get a good spot next year. I am there with Sofaking and Spikes (and our lovely volunteers!) before everyone arrives and long after everyone leaves. The moment we leave the Playa, we start planning for next year's camp. It's truly a year-round project. www.couchsurfingcamp.com

CouchSurfing Experience

I hitchhiked through Tunisia & met some cool folks that way. Train travel in Europe has often brought me an offer to couch surf. My Canadian friends always have an open door for me, as does my friend Andrea in Hong Kong; I've surfed her couch a few times.

Interests

Skiing, surfing (on the water that is), camping, boating, making sculpture, hearing live music and theater. I prefer risking $5 to find a new musical and creative discoveries rather than paying big bucks to see a big name act. Support the little guys & gals!

Philosophy

I'd rather be a good liver than have a good liver. HA! Seriously, if I can make someone smile I've done a good job whether its simply smiling at a stranger as I pass, holding the door open for the person behind me, or helping a friend in need. People should treat each other better, be aware of other people around them.

Music, Movies, Books

O gosh, it would take forever to fill this spot! I'm gonna save this for later.

Types of People I enjoy

Open-minded, cheerful, outgoing, brainiacs, artists, scientists, storytellers.

One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done

I have skied Chile, snorkeled in Bali, camped on the beach in Greece, but going Burning Man has changed my life forever.

Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org Project

I can't believe this site exists. My faith in humanity is restored. I think the human race will be OK...we will stop hurting each other eventually. Let's get the ball rolling, shall we?

What do these numbers mean?

This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.

In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.

When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.

I met Toast @ BM09 just after burning my face. She has been very sweet and full of attention. We slighty get to know more each others. She is an adorable doll and I definitely look forward seeing her again. And oh... thanks for teaching me the word neat :).

In the two days I spent with Kelly we had a great time. We even had the chance to go to the park with her dogs. She was very generous with her time & space. Cheers, Kelly!

I cannot believe it has taken me this long to add Toast of the Playa to my friends list.

Amazing, sassy, smart, wicked and beautiful.

Need I say more?

ITs toast!! this is one woman who makes an impression with you from the moment you meet her. Her impression on me well it takes a mutant couch, lots of hugging, and one big smile to get the feel of what couch surfing camp at burning man was really like. Thanks you cool kiddo for one heck of a time and for letting me get to know you that little bit.

What a increadable person! She was a light in our camp that was always shining, and very brightly at that! She was a huge help setting up and breaking down the whole camp. I swear she put more into this camp than many combined. She helped so much, she over did it, LOL.
She was a huge help at clean up! and made sure that everything was perfect, and clean before we left.

She has an increadable mind and a loving soul. After burningman I was heading north, and she graciously hosted me for one night on my way to Alaska. We had a great time at dinner talking, and learning about each other. I look forward to the next time I run into Kelly. I wish you only the best.

If she needs a place to surf, open your door to her, you wont regret it! Great woman, great friend!

I admit it! I secretly loved it when you would come and ask me for help with something. You are an amazing person and I cannot wait to see when we can get together again. You were a big part of the success of CSC this year.
