Leonardo Morantes

We really enjoyed meeting Leonardo and his wife. They were excellent guests and had many interesting stories to tell. I hope we get to see them again soon!

Leonardo (a veteran couchsurfer) and Amanda (in her first couchsurfing experience) were wonderful to have in our house. AND they took us out for a fabulous lunch of Ethiopian food. We hope we get to see them in the future!

 

Leonardo is a very outgoing, smart, and friendly person. He loves being part of and giving back to the Couchsurfing community. Anyone who gets the chance to hang out with Leonardo will enjoy themselves and be thankful for the experience.

 

Leonardo was an awesome guest. He brought with him a bottle of delicious Argentinean wine, and he even helped me cleanup a lake the next day, after waking up really early and suffering through my terrible cooking. He is a great person to hang out with. Always keeping a positive attitude when things look grim, like getting a flat when both of us were tired and hungry. I really hope one day we'll meet again.

 

Leonardo is a great guy, very considerate and a truly passionate CSer. He's got tons of stories and his experiences from Colombia has gotten us very interested in visiting! Hope to meet up again (maybe at JMH!)

 

Leo stayed with Katie and I for one night. We talked and drank some delicious wine, and then he insisted on paying for dinner!! Leo is an amazing person, with a world view (and a travel list) that everyone should have. We wish we could have spent more time together, but we managed to have a great time in the few short hours we met!

 

If you host Leonardo, I promise that you will be more excited about couchsurfing than before you hosted him. He's so passionate about the experience and the people he meets and it's absolutely contagious, which is fantastic! He's also super easygoing and interested in meeting people and seeing new places, so he was up for anything and was very outgoing and easy to get to know. He's awesome and I'm rooting for him to come back to Orlando permanently!

 

Small world and a big family!!!That was the feeling after meeting Leonardo, easy going, cool, open heart and ready to live all what CS experience can offer.Well travelled. Having several friends in common, we have more than reasons to meet again and maybe someday share a trip. Always welcome ...great guy!

I met Leonardo at a local CS meet. He's friendly, outgoing and very passionate about travel and the CS philosophy. He's got a lot going for him, and I hope he ends up in Orlando after med school. We'll stay in touch!

Leonardo showed me what a CS City Ambassador should be like. He formed a close circle of a few active CSers in Mobile (Josh, Kenneth and Dick) which really keep CS alive and vibrant in Mobile. It is a pity that I didn't go with him for a road trip across the Southeast. I already start to regret now.

Leonardo was very gracious, polite, and friendly during his short stay. He's always looking to meet people and goes out of his way to make sure he puts his host out as little as possible. A true couchsurfer!

 

Leo was just passing through, but we got to hang out for a while when I hosted him. Very smart-can quote the entire periodic table of the elements in Spanish...in one breath,lol! His world travels are unparalleled. If you look up culturally diverse in the dictionary, you will find a pic of Leo. Would host again anytime, and hope he gets a great neurology internship in Miami, so I can surf with him one day. Good luck Leo.

 

I heard about Leonardo way before actually meeting hime. I knew our paths would cross one day and I have no doubt that I will travel with him , hopefully to South America!! He has dynamic energy and a huge positive outlook on life and people. More people should strive to capture his spirit. I love the goal of keeping the list of countries he visits in line with his birthday. he is 28 and has visited 28 countries--that is awesome. All in all a great experience and I look forward to a Mobile invasion in the not-to-distant future!!! The Colombian flag has joined the couchsurfing tree!!

I met Leonardo in Vienna, apparently we were neighbours - it's a pity that we found out that so late... In any case, we met for Lithuanian dinner at my place and Leonardo was dealing with crazy lithuanian food pretty well! We also had good time playing games and talking. And I hope that information about Lithuania was helpful.

I am really glad I got to meet Leo & chat with him for a bit at a CS get together in his town. It is clear he is a dedicated, enthusiastic & smart person who is very comfortable in new & fun situations. Hope to see u again sometime on the CS travel circuit! :)

 

Leo and the guys were awesome. We didn't get much time to hang out--we hung in some, though. I missed the New Orleans Invasion (which is why they were there) because of work stuff. We had such a good time, I'm planning a trip to Mobile! Leonardo and friends are welcome back at my place any time.

Leonardo is really nice and has been very proactive to involve me in CS events and get togethers. He is well travelled and very friendly and helpful, he has a busy schedule but makes himself available to show others around.

 

Over several weeks I had the opportunity to spend some quality time with Leonardo. I've come to know a man who is focused on helping communities become more efficient, caring, and productive through diligent social networking. He has inspired me to become more involved in the community and other areas of social importance. Leonardo's exceptional soft skills allow him to interact with any person or culture. His ability to listen and truly care for what is being said makes you feel a sympathetic, kind, and generous friend is at your side. I can only hope Leonardo stays in Mobile, not only for my own selfish reasons, (having an amazing friend), but for all of Mobile, who will have the great pleasure in experiencing his care, and compassion as a Doctor, Couch Surfer Ambassador, and a master social networking guru. If Mobile isn't lucky enough to have him as their amazing asset, then the city who does will be honored with a great friend!

 

Leonardo knows all the right people and works hard behind the scenes to ensure things happen. He is constantly praising others and is a joy to hang out. Really easy going, fits in with anyone. The best Ambassador a city could ask for.

 

Leo was a fun, respectful, and interesting guest. His experiences, travels, views, and goals are unique and intriguing. He is generous and outgoing. Let this man surf should he request such!

HEY!!SORRY FOR BEIING SO LATE BUT I HAVE TO SAY THAT I HAD A REALLY GREAT TIME THE DAYS I HOSTED YOu.LEONARDO ADMIRES GREEK CULTURE AND KNOWS A LOT ABOUT OUR CULTURAL HERITAGE AND I REALLY APPRECIATE THAT.THE ONLY FUNNY THING IS THAT WHILE WE WERE WATCHING A SPANISH MOVIE THAT LASTED 90min.MAXIMUM HE FELL ASLEEP TWICE!!!!WELL,HE MAY NOT LIKE HIS SPANISH HERITAGE BUT WHY??????ALL THE BEST!!!WE WILL MEET AGAIN SOMEHOW,SOMEWHERE FOR SURE!

Leonardo is very polite person. At the moment I met him he was already helping fellow trevelers to get of the train and find their way around the station. I only hosted Leonardo one night but I must say it was true delight. I would be happy to host you anytime you come to Ljubljana. He is very tidy, realible person. An open spirit with a genuine interest in other people and cultures. Leonardo was, even after a long flight and several nights with only few hours of sleep, grateful for the walking tour of Zurich we did (of course he slept through on my couch the whole next morning). I would host him again any time.

I met Leonardo at a christmas party in Buenos Aires. We met the next day for a rooftop-party at my sister's place and had fun with some other Couchsurfers. He's a nice and smart guy who you can have good discussions with!

I definitely had a good time with this guy at the Christmas meeting he organized in Buenos Aires.

Leonardo and I met during the CS Invasion in New Orleans (organized by Derryl). It's NOT true, that my sister payed for the "paprika chicken", beacuse Leonardo did it!!! I don't know why, but he just trusted us and our cooking experience and did not allow us to pay :) So I tried to "satisfy" him (with the paprika chicken) and I think he is still waiting for the recepie :) I'm really glad, we've met in NOLA and spent a really cool time together (despite of the rainy weather). Leonardo!! I'm looking forward to meet you somewhere in America, with or without "paprika chicken"! :))

I was originally contacted Leonardo to surf his couch in Mobile and to talk about my upcoming trip to Colombia. That fell through when he had to go to a medical conference. We didn't let a minor hiccup get in the way of a good time. When Leonardo came to Atlanta we met up at a CS dinner and had a blast. We were talking about travel, Colombia, and how great CS is. He is a great person who is very proactive in CS. I would surf, host, and travel with him anytime. Thanks for all the great tips on Colombia.

 

At dinner, Leonardo was telling our table about all his amazing experiences exploring the Americas. Oh- and congrats on the citizenship!

 

I had the pleasure to spend a fun CS invasion with Leonard including fine jazz concerts, buggy ride, a war game :) and an intro to Hungarian cuisine. He definitely is a nice and trustworthy person!
Sept 2009 update: It was a pleasure to meet Leonardo again during his trip to Budapest. He is such a nice person and can genuinely appreciate cuisine and culture. We should definitely make it a third time!

Leonardo is pretty much awesome, he was very but very helpful to pick us up from Biloxi when we tried to evacuate. It was also very kind of him that he introduced us to his lovely wife and brother. I hang out 2 days and it was well enough to know his big heart.

 

I had a wonderful time when Leonardo came to a couchsurfing invasion in New Orleans, a collaboration of several ambassadors. Leonardo was a great guest at my house and added to the events of the weekend. Thanks, hope to meet again.

I met Leo at a starbucks and he introduced me to couchsurfing which is totally awesome. He is really friendly and fun to talk to!!!

 

Leonardo was so nice to greet me when coming to his town of Mobile. He is very warm, intelligent and a very experienced traveler. He gave me great tips while we drouned ourselves in caffeine at his local Starbucks, both for different reasons. He was studying for his final exams on his way to becoming a doctor and I was traveling through the night on a 19 hour voyage home from working in Houston, TX to where my RV was in central Florida. I wish that we had more time to hang out and that the last minute timing was different but I will be passing back throug his area again soon and will definitely look him back up. I suggest that you do the same. He has the true 'couchsurfing' spirit and a great soul. See you again Leonardo! Come visit Florida! You both are welcome with me.

Leonardo is a great guy who really really really likes to travel. So if you're on couchsurfing.com, you probably have a lot in common with him. And he likes to see how people in other countries live instead of seeing hotels. So again, if you are on couchsurfing.com, you probably have a lot in common with him.

 

Leonardo is exactely what you expect from a guest: nice, polite, clean, really interested to travel and to share experiences, funny and friendly. He has a fantastic CS soul that give to you the hopeness that CS Project will grew through people like Leonardo. I´m sure that we will meet again somewhere in the world!!!

UPDATE

Exactely 2 years after we met in Rio I travelled to visit him in Mobile and was a terrific experience! Leonardo has really the CS´soul and I´m so proud to be his friend! He hosted us in a way that better were impossible, organizing a meeting to welcome us too in Mobile!

Leonardo is a really cool, interesting guy. We met in sao-paulo thru mutual CS friends, and ended up spending the better part of 2 days together. A great guy, fun to meet, and i hope to surf his couch in mobile soon :)

We met eachother during a great party in Niteroi and had some nice conversations. It was a pleasure to meet you Leonardo, and for sure I will let you see a little bit more of the Netherlands once you are back in Europe! You are welcome in Amsterdam!

Leonardo is such a nice guy, even when he's had no sleep at all(that tells you a lot about a person). All my friends loved him in Sao Paulo and I'm definetly looking foward to seeing him again sometime. All the best and good luck on your tests!

 

Sometimes in life you meet people that you can totatlly feel you would be friends for life with them. This is the case with Leonardo. He is such a nice guy, easy to talk to about just anything. I had an amazing time while he was here, and I wish to visit him in Mobile on time for Mardi Gras ;) Hope our path will cross again!

I met Leo while he was in Rio and he was a good company, looking to learn more about Rio and Brasil culture. I hope to meet again soon!

Besides the fact we didn't manage to talk one each other, face our language communication problems, i just realize he's a great guy. Maybe who knows someday i'll meet up him in America... huh?

It was really nice to hang out with Leo, he was always an excellent companion at our gatherings and we always had a lot of fun and some talks about culture, which was enriching for me. Besides, he has always great chicks around him. hehe.

I love Colombia and I love speaking Spanish so, when I met Leo, I made his life "miserable", cause I couldn't stop talking...lol Anyway, we had fun at the game, he is very nice, polite and, even though he's a little serious, I'm sure he's a party guy. Nice "cachaco"...hope to keep in touch!

Unfortunatly, I met Leonardo just once in a bbq in Rio. Anyway, I realize he´s very nice boy. I hope meet him more at any place around the world. ;-)

Leonardo was a very nice guest. He's crazy about music and he showed me some of his favorite songs. It was a great time. Unfortunately he could stay only one night.
