Personal Description

Just an internet ranger. Spend most of my time either plugged in or at conferences around the world.
I carry almost always a small digital camera, and enjoy a lot taking pictures with it.
In my time off I used to study theatre. I still do some, but I'm on my own now.
Same thing with Japanese.
Oh, and I'm a blogger too.

CouchSurfing Experience

Well I used to "couchsurf" informally a lot in my life.
It's my favourite way of travelling.
Luckily I've quite some friends from all over, and enjoy a lot spending my vacations jumping from one city to the other in order to spend some time with them.

Interests

Theatre, photography, travel, languages, people (better if smart, nice looking girls), cognitive science, design, a little of architecture.

Philosophy

This is a tough one. Let's have a drink if you want to talk about that.

Music, Movies, Books

Movies: too many. But I especially like Wim Wenders. Oh and Blade Runner of course.
Music: any kind.
Books: some noire, J. Coe's House of Sleep, Pennac's, Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Barrow's and Feynman's rants on physics and mathematics. Anything Gaiman and Pratchett, everything Shakespeare. Just to name a few

Types of People I enjoy

Bloggers. Artists. Writers.
But even more people I meet on trains, or gas stations, or even at the bar in the early morning or riding through small villages with my bike. The old ones often can tell you the most wonderful stories.

One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done

Smile each and every morning.

Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org Project

Looks nice. I'll add up more as soon as I'll end my "tour"

Riccardo is as a know him kind and caring, to the extent that he actually lend me his bed to sleep on the couch himself.. :) Thank you Riccardo! Slept like a log .. for the three hours that was actually left of the night when we decided it would be time to get some sleep.. And also Riccardo - thank you SO much for introducing me to Coco Rosie!!!

Riccardo is great company for the theatre and wandering about the city. He's a real philosopher - who tries out his ideas in the real world. I can't believe I didn't meet him sooner cos he could have told me about couchsurfing when I was still booking hotels!

Where is the clown nose? :-). RICCARDO- what a wonderful guy! Instead of hosting just my mate Danny and me he also was so kind to let our Aussie friend Tilly stay for a night. That was so sweet! Riccardo has a lovely flat and I enjoyed staying at his place a lot! If you ever make it to London don't miss out to meet such a great dude! I promise you'll have a blast hanging around with this little sweetheart!

thanks a lot hun!!!! hope to catch up again soon!

3 bottles of red wine.

and this on the first evening in his flat. First Katja and I made dinner. PASTA and tomato-onion-sauce, more onion than anything else ;) And I made a soup! Instant soup. After that, 3 persons were drinking 3 bottles of red wine. Katja is not counting, because she was drunk after 1 1/2 glas! Riccardo hosted us for two nights and it was great. We also met him at the CS meeting in St. James Park, in the pub after it and in the Yates at Leicester Square for having some beer. And to good the latter, I praise myself hereby to have surfed his couch because Katja and Tilly rather preferred it sleeping overnight on the soil. Hope to see you in Germany or somewhere else again.

I can't believe that yet I hadn't written a proper reference for this guy! Well, time to do it.. Let's go back in time.. one year ago, Riccardo was touring italy with his bike and stopped in Florence for a night, but that was just the beginning.. since then we've met on several occasions and I had the time to confirm my first impressions about him.. He's a precious one, smart, intelligent, funny with a sense of humor that I still have to figure out, but it's sure funny. Most of all, he's enpowered with the gift of irony.. He has brought so much good stuff in my life, inspiration, confort and a kick in the ass when i needed it! hope he'll keep on doing that
