Ai is a very easy going and positive guy..He was very tolerant to my one-hour arrival and was up to a very quick and spontaneous plan of walking around and grabbing a bite..Even though we only spent an hour together,yet he managed to teach me a lot,mainly about how to take an initiative to help people,and also made me fall even more in love with Psychology..He also practiced his Advertising skills and managed to convince some foreigners to go eat at the same place where we had eaten :))
Moreover,his sense of direction is amazing..He ws basically my guide in my hometown.Hope we can meet up again so I can truly show him around Cairo :))

Ai is a warm and wonderful person with many an interesting story to tell. He has a quick wit about him and it is guaranteed that you will have good banter and a fun time when you are with him! He is open and understanding and up for almost anything, as he is a truly passionate traveler!

Ai is really sociable and he tells some amazing stories, though you should watch out for his five-minute-rule (I was lucky he brought that down to a 30-second-rule :P). Overall it was a great first CS-experience, thank you!

I met Ai when I arrived to Australia. Super-friendly and helpful, always having good plans for movies, theater and other events... Always nice to hang out with him!

Ai is the pillar of keeping the Melbourne CS community active. He regularly organises events and activities and is always available for advise. I met Ai for the first time at a bar crawl he organised. He did the most fantastic job, greeted everyone personally and walked up and down the bar constantly looking for all the people who looked lost (me being one of them!) :-) He was a brilliant host and introduced me to people he knew and went out of his way to make people feel comfortable. Although I haven't been to many CS events as yet, I do know that Ai does a very impressive job of organising many different events and is an absolutely asset to the Melbourne CS community. Seems like Ai has so many contacts as he gets all this free stuff to give away. I got a free ticket to the Melbourne Fringe festival from Ai. I don't think even seen the radio stations like Fox or Nova gives away so much stuff!! :). Ai is a nice guy with a good knowledge about what's going on around. Hope see him again in many events to come.

Ai was a really nice guy and it was really good of him to organized tickets for everyone to the Fringe Festival show. He’s the kind of person that you can not help but like and I hope to see him again soon.

 

Ai was great, and was to everyone involved. He truly has his finger on the pulse on the city, and is more than willing to share that info. He was very interesting to chat with, and I was disappointed not to have had more time in conversation. When I get back to the city, he'll be one of the first people I'm in contact with. Ai was really nice! When he saw that I am in Melbourne he just wrote me a message and invited me to show me around. We went through the city and he had some really useful things to say about the city! I am sure we will meet again here in Melbourne!

Ai was very generous organising free tickets for about 30 CSs to see a movie. He was interesting to chat to and great to compare travel notes with. We look forward to meeting him again in the future.

Ive met Ai a couple of times now and feel confident in saying that he is a true, genuine, very helpful guy who has done and seen quite a few interesting things! He seems to know alot about alot, which gives for good conversations! I'm sure that I'll see a whole lot more of him, while I'm in melb and maybe somewhere else in the world aswell. Iceland maybe? :)

I got an e-mail from Ai during my stay in Melbourne and so we met up and he showed me the Greek district and we had lots of cakes and other stuff..BUT it was his idea!!...well I think it was ;)..aaaanyway, we had a really nice evening and it was just 2 days later when he invited me to join him and a group of international students to watch an icelandic movie which i found extremely comical but nobody else :)
Ai is a funny guy who likes to kid (but in a nice way;)and at the same time you can talk with him about serious topics and hes very intelligent.I think thats a good mx ;)
it was a pleasure to meet him in Australias most beautiful city!

Ai is a wonderful person who is always willing to show others a good time. He is well connected and shares my passionate love for film. Such a kind guy.

 

Ai is a well connected man. He had so many free tickets to give away to the movie, unfortunately the cinema was too small and I didn't end up watching THAT movie he was giving tickets away to. Hope to meet him again and maybe get to know a little bit about the man himself. :)

 

I've now been lucky enough to have attended two movie nights that Ai has kindly organised. He is an absolute pleasure to spend time chatting to, and the energy and time that he puts into the cs community is simply amazing and its fantastic to have you in Melbourne. Ai has a smile permanently etched on his face — he organised a free movie screening for "Adam" which I attended, and when some problems occurred from the part of the cinema's management where some of us ended up not having any seats, his smile didn't waver once. Actually he kinda reminds me of the Laughing Buddha, not that his belly resembles one.. :P Hope to see more doses of Ai during my stay here!

I met Ai for one day to a movie premiere in Melbourne.
What meant free food and drinks...
Ai was unbelievable friendly and brought my second burger to my seat:-).
Afterwards we were in a cafe and I had a really nice chat with him.

Ai is the lovechild of Glinda the good witch (wizard of oz) and MacGyver (look this reference up if you don't know!). Like Glinda, Ai is the epitomy of kind, and goes out of his way to ensure people are looked after. Like MacGyver, Ai is always thinking on his feet and rescuing girls with the help of his makeshift bow and arrow. Ok, slight embellishment. The moral of the story is that he is probably the most responsible person I know and definitely the one you want around in a crisis! Even though he has this 'responsible' label, he is remarkably fun to go out with... even if he does drink lemon lime n bitters!

Ai is one of the nicest and friendliest guy's I've met. He is willing to do a lot for people he's just met, very generous and trusting person.

Ai showed me around his neighbourhood and uni, and I found it very interesting talking to him about any topic (and we discussed quite a few)! I hope we catch up again sometime, cause I still have a lot of questions to ask. I feel grateful to have met Ai and I think everyone should do if they get a chance!

Ai is awesome. I was sick the first few weeks in Clayton and couldn't go out to get food because everything was far away, but Ai took me around in his car to get dinner. I enjoyed his sense of humor, his intellect, and achievements. I mean he got a masters from Harvard... The more and more I find out about him, the more I am amazed. Like I just found out he's a CS ambassador.. WOW. I think anyone would enjoy some time with him. He's quite social, and likes to just sit and chat, which is what I prefer over parties and loud music.

Thanx so much for that amazing reference! I can't imagine anyone on this planet who doesn't get along with this wonderful person. Ai has an incredible gift for connecting with people. I instantly felt very relaxed when I met him. Our four hour meeting felt like one since i completely forgot about time because of our fun and interesting conversations.

 

I met Ai at a French movie night. No need to say that I enjoyed my time in his company, look at his profile and all the references, what could I add?!! Just meet the (Buddhist)guy and you'll see what I mean!!

Ai, despite getting my name (OK we Europeans have funny sounding names) and place of origin wrong is an avid exponent of the couchsurfing ideal, the exchange of ideas and experiences - I look forward to meeting up with him and fellow Melbornians over the coming year.

Ai is a fabulously open person. He is patient and giving and took me around Melbourne on a lovely quiet sunday night and we are definatly going to catch up again when i'm back in town. I got to know Ai as an incredibly trustworthy and helpful person in every way. He's an amazing ambassador and definitely knows where to go for all sorts of needs. I used him as a tourist guide more than once. Furthermore he's my saviour...he saved me from getting sick of italian food. Asian food was a great change, thanks for that and for sharing your travel experiences. As I met Ai a few more times he became a really good friend. He supported me in every possible way and he's definitely someone you can count on.

I came back from travels thinking I was going to be this active Melbourne Ambassador but I should've known there would already be locals leading the way! I am blown away by Ai's generosity, his down-to-earth, easy-going nature and personality - he's the typical laid-back Melbourne lad. As Melbourne's walking encyclopedia Ai is a source of info for CS'ers. His busy schedule doesn't stop him from organising cool events which are always attended very well. A very kind person which I'm glad I have met over here.

Ai was the start to an incredibly warm welcome to Melbourne, he organises a lot of events in Melbourne and along with the friendship of Dexter and Matt (two locals, despite their insistence of the opposite), I felt instantly at home here. I hope to have the chance to talk to him more before I move on!

 

Ai was really fun to hang out with! He's very well traveled and has unique and interesting stories to share. He knows the local (and very well hidden) Melburnian watering holes and very enthusiastically made sure that I got to see everything. The very next night, I attended a bar crawl he had put together and we did it all over again!

Buddhistguy is ready with an easy smile and friendly introduction and is clearly an important member of the CS Melbourne community. Ai is extremely friendly and generous. He is committed to the couch surfing cause and as far as i'm aware has organised a number of events which have given CSers in Melbourne the opportunity to meet other CS'ers in person.

Ai, despite perhaps not wanting to, seems to have adopted a guardian like role for the Melbourne CS group! Whilst I've been here, he's actively organised several, often free or subsidised events that bring us together - we all appreciate his coordination and generosity.

Ai is one of the kindest guy Ive ever met. He took me under his wing when I first came to Melbourne and he has shown me a great deal of cool places. He's a great listener and will always come with an entertaining story that will put you in fits of laughter. and if u like food,chocolate and yummy cocktails this is the guy to know!

The Tran Man is one of my closest friends. We met while living on campus at university in 1996. He is highly intellectual with a wicked sense of humour. He's also incredibly sweet (although sometimes quite clueless). He even spends time with me when I am grumpy...which usually makes me less grumpy. We've shared some great times hanging out in Melbourne over the years. Things are more fun with him around as his spirited nature makes things lighter. He's one of my favourite people. Time spent with Ai is never boring. Plus his mum is a really good cook :)

 

Even though Ai has degrees from around the world and enough letters after his name to play a game of Scrabble with, he is a down-to-earth, approachable, interesting and friendly guy.

I met Ai for dinner and after our failed attempt to eat at one of the city's more exclusive restaurants on account of our Couchsurfer appearance, we ate at a more humble - but no doubt tastier - Chinese restaurant.

We then went to watch a show at The Melbourne Comedy Festival, which Ai kindly provided myself and others with tickets for. We then went for drinks.

Yeah, so what I'm trying to say is Ai is a great guy.

I had an awesome time at both shows! Ai is a very organized, polite, intelligent and fun person to be around! I would recommend anyone new to Melbourne to attend any event Ai organizes or is at!

Ai, provided free tickets to a comedy show, then we went out for a few beers after the show. What a great guy! I imagine this is exactly what the creators of couchsurfing had in mind when they came up with the concept.

Ai is a very open and friendly guy and he truly lives the couchsurfing spirit.

Ai is a very nice guy. He helped me a lot since he knows that I plan to travel to Melbourne. He answered every questions (and there were some :-)) and cares about me. We wrote for some months till the day came when we first see each other. He introduced me to so lovely Couchsurfer and one of them became my best friend here in Melbourne :-). So I am absolutely thankful. I like what he is doing, his idea about how to bring people together and the way he does this. I will definitely see him again during my stay in Melbourne. I can really say that, as a new person in Melbourne you should not wait to contact Ai – he is a very good company!!

i wanted to stay a long time in Melbourne, and decided to meet couch surfer. I join the group and Ai wrote me and asked me if i wanted to met him for a drink.
north, south, est, western... he know by heart the city. it have any secret for him!
actually i don't stay in Melbourne, but i'm happy to met him!

 

Ai is my go-to man, if you need info (especially on cheap tickets!) chances are he knows it! Unfortunately his thesis gets in the way of us catching up as often as I'd like, but it's always a good time when we do.

Ai is a great guy. He knows lots about Melbourne and took us to some pretty cool bars etc. He is a funny one and likes to drink drink drink which is always good :D Look forward to seeing him again!

When I met Ai his behaviour was completely inappropriate: he was hitting on me, making improper comments and trying to touch me. When I started getting upset he tried to make me believe his overtures were all my own imagination. He kept trying to get in touch with me and make me believe I was misinterpreting his behaviour.
After having met him I felt compelled to delete my profile as I was very upset and wanted to have nothing to do with CS anymore. But meeting other CSers (by chance in the city) convinced me not everyone was like him and made me realize that I should let other people, especially women, know about this. So I created a new account and left him a negative reference. But as this account has been set up the same day I left that reference he could have it deleted. So I asked the CS administration to reinstate my actual account.

I met him for once time in Melbourne and he´s a very openminded and friendly guy. Easy going and u can have lots of fun with him...He knows many good locations in Melbourne and have so many tips...Great Guy! Hope to see him again before I´m going to leave Melbourne...

Great guy!! He showed me the city, we saw the cinemas, we had a great time, we laughed and we ate an ice cream a big ice cream it was delicious. He´s great, very gentleman, funny I enjoyed a lot with him.

Ai is a great guy who showed me some cool spots to drink in Melbourne. Also, he helped me get a USB for my camera! Super sweet guy with a good sense of humor... Even though I don't get all the Aussie jokes! Loved meeting him and hope to meet up soon again.

In generell we can say about him that he's crazy in a very positive way!it's not only great fun to hang around with him he also knows all the melbourne insider (where to find what, when and where?)...believe us he's worth its weight in gold!

I was fortunate enough to have Ai as my guide in Melbourne back in October. I'd already been in Melb 2½ months, but he showed me cultural events and crazy 11-hour-pub-crawls in this wonderful city. I met him several times afterwards and every time was just as much fun as the first. Ai is amazing company and really good fun! A guided tour with Ai is a must for all Melbourne-visitors.

Well... as far as I remember over all those Zombie's he is a very fun guy to hang out with. We had a great evening together in Melbourne and even so we had only a little time he showed me around quit a few nice places. Hope we meet again.

ai, ai, ai.. where shall i start! we had quite some good times man. zombie shuffles, freezes, old mental hospitals, homeless people, uncountable wicked bars [and drinks], danced ourselves into trance as we had no booze and no nothing at this electro festival, got free beer at a art gallery opening, watched a horror movie and went to the theater, catching the tram with no ticket.. we had the most awesomest food ever!!!!!!!!!!! it was so good to see you again before i left! but it was really weird too, like the beginning and the end :( i'll be back in melbourne, for sure! looking forward to see you in germany [or somewhere else] tho. or maybe when i need to marry a rich old australian man and cant find any. ha! to brotherhood!! :D

I had a great time exploring Melbourne with Ai. He took me to the Dream Festival and the Melbourne International Arts Festival. He is a wonderful conversationalist with lots of interesting stories, and totally worth meeting.

Ai was awesome enough to take me out to some amazing restaurants in places I would never have thought to go. He's a super nice guy and a great conversationalist.. Definitely embodies the couch surfing spirit :)

"Buddhistguy" provided the perfect intro to these Melbourne gatherings (which while having 'couchsurfed' elsewhere, I had not attended). Very much appreciated and I can see you as an excellent hosty person! :)

Update: I have always found Ai in person and by reputation to be a sincere, honest and generous person. I really enjoy being with him and have always found his company to be delightful and easy going; even though we have discussed some pretty deep and meaningful topics.

I'm aways amazed at the number of people he has hosted and the lengths he will go to in order to help those surfering his couch. Impressive CS effort and impressive man.

Ai is a very nice guy.I really enjoyed catching up for a cafe on the monash campus, meeting him at foodies night, or eating sour squirms at 1 am! He has amazing travel stories to tell, and he always knows where to go out in Melbourne!

Ai is a jack of all trades, including steering conversations south. :-) He's quite the social mingler and certainly is one of the more interesting people I met during my time in Oz.

 

my first guided tour by a local ambassador turned out to be a horrortrip full of accusations and incriminations of the meanest kind!!! No, just kidding! He is a nice guy and very easy to handle, always polite (even when he was frighten to death when he first saw me ;), he wouldn't just pass me by and pretend he haven't seen me!!)and knows a lot of good places to have a drink.. or two..

Ai is a lot nicer than he tries to come across as, and gets kudos for always organising events and convincing me to attend them. He is a man who likes to party. And also enjoys teasing those around him.

In spite of this or perhaps because of it, he is delightful and good fun, with a touch of trouble thrown in for good measure.

It was such a joy to meet Ai. He went out of his way long before I ever arrived in Melbourne to make sure I would run into a welcoming face all the way on the other side of the world. He is intelligent, engaging, and genuinely interested in not only spreading the spirit of Couchsurfing, but the understanding of cultures and individuals far and wide. I met Ai once at a couchsurfing event in Melbourne. There he was so much caring about new cochsurfers and made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Having met at Martin's birthday bash, I found Ai super easy to get along with & while his sense of humour might not be to everyone's taste - I get it.

Second impressions were better than first, possibly because Ai was wearing a suit. Of course the suit didn't change the jokes. Which isn't all bad.

Ai was a great bloke to meet, didnt get to chat to him much but my mate Jess did. Really friendly, helpful guy who answers phones very quickly. Great job organising the meet, had a blast.

 

Through the mass of people which came to the CS celebration gathering which he and deb started, I barely had a chance to chat with him - but in the talks we had and walks through the rain we shared he really seemed to be a great(-dressed *smile) guy :)

Ai Ai Ai, What can i say! Such a fun, intelligent, kindhearted person with a fantastic sense of humour. Not to mention his stunning good looks and killer abs, he is such a delight and pleasure to be around. I met him at my very first CS event in Melbourne, and have enjoyed every minute i have spent with him since. You could not find a better example of a genuine CS! A true friend, he is someone who will help you out and show you a good time while he's at it! Definitely recommend meeting Ai if you have the chance!

Ai is the sweetest guy and someone who you immediately feel comfortable with. We have had some crazy nights out with plenty of absinth and cocktails. Ai's knowledge of Melbourne's bars is extensive, so if you want to experience the best nightlife, he is definately the guy. He's always up for a good laugh or a good story and is just great company.

Ai (pronounced I), dressed in all black, made a fashionably late entrance at Strossel's and segued into working the room, so for a minute there I typecast him as being an architect (he's not). Our attempts at conversation were constantly hijacked by others vying for his attention. Ai wins over rooms with a sincere ease so I think I will forgive that resemblance to architects ;)

 

Ai brings out the evil side of my sense of humour! I laugh a lot with him, and make really "wrong" jokes. He's also a great listener, very thoughtful and really really CS-enthusiastic!

Ai thinks that I eat sushis in the toilets, he calls me a wuss, makes fun of me all the time and he makes me drink a lot...Despite all of the above, I like him very much! He's the kindest person ever, he's generous, knowledgeable, full of good advice, helpful, funny, he's a good listener, a party man, he has a lot of good things to say (when sober!) and he's always happy. I first met Ai when he was giving out free tickets, but that is only the beginning of the giving side to this man. From meeting Ai briefly at a CS movie gathering he was kind enough to organise i can see hes very committed to CS and loves meeting new people. Hes a friendly guy and i wish i had been able to stay and chat longer!

Ai is an extremely loving, compassionate being that seems to carry a great time around with him where ever he goes. He has a great attitude and makes you feel like you have known him forever. He is so positive, easy going, and enjoys anything you show him. I really enjoyed dancing crazily with him and drinking the night away at the African Dance Club with him.

Ai was my first couchsurfing meeting, and I have with him on three seperate occasions!

First, we went all over SF and it was a lot of fun. He had a lot of interesting stories and good suggestions for a newbie traveler. I highly recommend Ai to any couchsurfer.

This past time, we had even more fun. He really is open for anything and that always makes for a great experience. We saw a comedy show, checked out some cool bars, and ended up at Denny's at 6 in the morning!

I always have the best time with Ai, and look forward to his visits. He is a true couchsurfing model.

I met Ai at a CS gathering in San Francisco (3 hours before he was heading back to Australia!)... and although our conversations were brief.. I could tell right away that he was a really cool guy!

Ai was the first person I have met from couchsurfing, and he most definitely affirmed all my optimism about the value of this site. He is an amazingly open-minded, optimistic, and generally convivial human being. My friends were slightly skeptical about me going off to meet some stranger off the internet, despite all my protestations. However, it only took a few moments with Ai to convert even the most dubious among them. I hope I will be in the position to visit Melbourne at some point, or perhaps meet Ai again in another random location.

 

Ai is great! It's a shame I coudn't spend more time with this guy before he left... He is interesting and funny! So nice to hang out with :) Hope see him again somewhere!

Ai was just fan freakin tastic. I had so much fun also he was late!! hah but no matter cuz once we met up, he took me to THE places in melbourne to go. the little nooks here and there that no one other than local melbournians would be able to tell a melbourne passerby! we enjoyed cheap and fabulous dumplings, warm rumcha, and this manchurian rum tea thing that tasted soooo soothing and so good(although it didn't have an effect on either Ai or me, haha). then over a hot chocolate, yummy pastries, adn ice cream we talked and talked. Watch out for his sarcasm if ur a gullible girl like me though!! overall ai is fantabulous devoted CSer, has traveled to so many places and knows ALOT OF PEOPLE!!! meet up with him if u can! We met each other at a couchsurfing dinner in Melbourne. He's a very nice guy and we've had a good conversation (+fun). We had a very good time and looking forward to meet again ;)

Ai was kind enough to reach out when I first arrived in Melbourne, and to show me around a bit of the city. Really nice guy!

Ai is an extremely warm person. He offered to show me around Melbourne and we ended up having a wonderful time with some cowboys ;-) (australian shots) he even invited to the International Film Festival.
He told me that he had a
great time hanging out with Couchsurfers in the States, during his stay and he
decided he wanted to show Couchsurfers around
Melbourne when he came back. I think that is a really nice attitude and one ofthe best things about traveling.
It has been so great to meet Ai and know there are so good persons like him in the world! And i hope i can show him my country one day... and of course to keep doing things together in Melbourne :-)

Ai was a fun person to meet and had interesting things to bring to the UT cooking club. He was very easy to be around and comfortable around new people- and I wont hold it against him that he said his favorite snack in Australia was koala jerky. :)

 

This is just a temporary reference until I gather more incriminating evidence, but it was a great pleasure to meet Ai. He appears to be a genuine and accommodating soul, and I really look forward a few long-winded conversations over coffee in the near future.

 

Ai is a great guy and I really enjoyed meeting him and talking to him about his experiences in the US, and about his studies and the work he does. I'm hoping we get to hang out again while I'm still in OZ...or I can host him one day when he visits the US again :)

This guy is mature and cool. Did talk about a few interesting things. Well i was blabbing on as usual but 'Buddhist Guy' should a lot of patience and understanding in my rantings.

I spent a fabulous day playing hostess to Ai while he visited San Francisco. A real trooper when it came to the imfamous hills, lots of fun stories to tell, and I would gladly have him back again!

 

This couchsurfer is the reason why I am here. I thought if a guy like him uses that network that must be a total awesome community. I wish I'd had more time to meet him but he just traveled too much and when I realized he left the Coop I almost cried of sadness...

Ai is awesome, he was the first person to introduce to me couchsurfing and is an avid couchsurfer himself. Ai am comforted by him.

Ai is everyone's big brother. Seriously. I have gained a good amount of valuable advice from Ai. I wish we could hang out for much longer but if I am ever in Australia, I will make it a requirement to visit him.

Ai is a very genuine and friendly guy, and a definite day brightener! He has lots of interested couchsurfing experience to share and was very fun to chat with. Thanks Ai!

 

Ai and I shared some interesting discussions about global health as we traipsed around a rainy Seattle Street Fair, and I found Ai to be a fun conversationalist. Although our opinions differed, it was great to get a Australian's perspective on the health systems of various countries. You're welcome to come back any time, Ai! Next time we'll address the up and coming US elections... hehe. :)

Conversation with Ai is so easy and comfortable. We had not enough time to talk on our first meeting so we met another day for a fabulous movie...and I think his company made it that much better! I really enjoyed my time with Ai and I definitely hope to see him again. You can trust this man, he's wonderful.

Buddhist Guy is a kind and gentle person.He's great to have a conversation with. Also extremely witty...it was good to meet him

Ai is a great person to be around--super friendly and funny, and always prepared with some form of biting Aussie sarcasm. And it turns out that he, too, has a love of food and an adventurous palate; when I couldn't decide what to order at the ramen house, we ordered one of each and ate to our hearts' content. I only wish we could have hung out more!

ai is entertaining and wry. he was a joy to wander with. next time i'm coming to your continent.

 

Ai joined us for drinks and dancing, and a bit of Indian naan too. He was easy to talk with right away, and has a way with delightful sarcasm that keeps a smile on your face at all times. If he contacts you, be sure to spend some time with him!

 

I’m glad he didn’t give up on me after I didn’t make to meet him twice he was in SF, but finally this month we did. A wonderful person, intelligent, funny and it was a pleasure being around him. Not nearly enough time spent together, but now I have another reason to go to Melbourne :-) I really hope we keep in touch.

Ai is a witty person with a heart of gold. He has got a certain sarcastic sense of humour, which i enjoyed very much. I could also see a shadow of a Greek philosopher in him, for he often asked interesting questions (one does need to be intelligent enough to ask good questions!) and was not afraid to challenge conventional ideas. Thank you, Ai, for inviting me to the Central Park (though we didn't get to see the play, we had good fun chatting with each other and with friendly strangers in the queue instead) and subsequently to a pleasant ferry ride to the Staten Island. Many thanks to you & Rachel, for insisting on walking me back to Dan's place after our late-night snack. I am truly glad that my first CS experience was all the richer because of you guys.

Ai is a very smart, compassionate human being, walking through life with a gentle smile and an ear to lend, as well as good stories. He is not, however, such a good player of Qbert. But then, really, who is?

 

Ai is very laid back and seems that he never gets angry. Don't be fooled by this boy next door look, as this guy really knows how to party...how about 20 rum & coke in an hour (or half)?! hang out with Ai if you get a chance and you will surely have fun and great conversation.

We had some rather interesting conversations about anything and everything. He's a friendly and extremely easy going guy! T'was a pleasure indeed!

 

Ai seems to fit in anywhere he goes. As life usually goes, you never have enough time to talk to everyone. Hopefully our paths will cross again, so that we can get to know each other more. He also happens to have one of the coolest names (Ai means "love" in both Chinese and Japanese).

 

We met during the thursday meeting. Then we had this strange party, where the Philipin restaurant plan turned into a creepy Bulgarian place, and about this bar which magically poured us well drinks for free ;) Ai jumped on his feet and within 10 seconds he had brought 20 glass!

I met Ai a few minutes before leaving the CS meeting and I get instantly along with him. Then we walked trough Manhattan and even if it was for a few minutes, I liked very much this moment. He is so sweet and open-minded. When you talk with him you know that you can learn a lot of things. For sure I will see him again before coming back to France.

 

This man is SO easy to get along with and just have a fantastic chat with! Cambridge, Austin, Australia - so much to discuss! Quite funny and charming as well, I might add. Now go get some new glasses with an anti-glare coating!!! :)

Ai is amazing! One of the most friendly, fun, non-judgmental, intelligent, and full of positive energy people out there! He was very hospitable and welcoming and went out of his way to show me the co-ops in Austin and invite me to the last couple fun movie nights at the Alamo! Thanks!

Peter Ai Pan hosted me for a night at his crazy ‘Lost Boys’ co-op. He’s a great guy - humourous and welcoming. Eventhough I didn’t arrive until midnight he made sure that I ate some ice cream (no, not imaginary), toured the UT campus and met some of the lost boys and girls all before 5AM. Don’t pass up a chance to spend some time with this guy!

Ai was very nice and easy-going. He made a great first-couchsurfer experience. He didn't even complain when we could barely see the bats because it was too dark! What a good sport!

We didnt spend that much time together, met only for a afternoon in San francisco since we had a busy scedule. But he is a nice and interesting person, who seems social and easy to get to know. would be fun to hang out in Melbourne some day!

A gracious guest with a humble and interesting demeanor. I only wish I could have had some more time to discuss buddhism because the time seemed to fly by just too fast. I would reccomend him to anyone that has some time and some intellect available.

oh ai:) so first of all it took us like the whole week to meet up in person but everytime we talked on the phone he sounded like such an interesting guy. we finally did meet up and went to dinner and then i showed him around the castro. ai is so much fun and soo open to doing anything. he has tons of fabulous stories as well. i would definitely not miss out on an oppurtunity to host this guy:)

This was my first CouchSurfing experience showing someone around town! Ai was really great and very open to everything. We got into some deep conversations and topics, and shared our thoughts as we visited the Palace of Fine Arts, Stonestown, the Presidio, Lombard Street, and the Twin Peaks area overlooking the city. Ai is very easy to talk to and our view towards life is pretty much the same! I plan to visit him in Australia!!

He has a taste for expeditions and can see things through different lenses. He's ambitious but down to earth at the same time.

I can tell he'll be a good host b/c at least my friends and I all enjoyed the little moment we shared together.

 

I had tons of fun with this man. He was very easy-going, good to be around, never a third wheel or difficult and a hit with my friends. His stories were good and it was just generally great spending time with him. I expect to see him again sometime.

we stayed with the same host in seattle for a couple of days. ai is funny and serious, and a great person to hang out with.

Ai is awesome (make sure you read it with an australian accent: "ooo-sum"), totally trustworthy and fun to hang out with. Lots of interesting conversations.

Ai has a delightful sense of humor and is a pleasure to talk to. He has definitely helped me in my travel and couchsurfing endeavors! I highly recommend him to host or to surf.

Ai is really one of the nicest people I've met. He's willing to share his life experiences and is also game for just a bit of fun. We are living at the same co-op in Austin right now. We travelled together to Mexico during spring break, 2007 and it is definitely something I won't forget. So yea, great guy with a witty sense of humour to boot!

Ai is very adventurous and friendly. He kept the spirits high on a cold, wet day at the Spam festival. I'm not sure I would have eaten the Spam sushi if he hadn't led the way! Thanks for embarking on a uniquely Austin experience with me!

Ai really took me under his wing and showed me some eclectic places. We instantly hit it off and had great time chatting about this that and the other. His wittiness and humor added to the excellent introduction to Austin. I would love to chill with this guy again.

We are members of the same co-op in Austin. Ai is a really cool guy. He's always fun to talk to, a bright well-educated guy with a lot of stories to tell. A calm and very trustworthy person.

He and his companion were a delight to have visit me in Mexico. It was wonderful to have someone to talk to in English and to talk to about Texas. I would host this person if he needed a place to stay and if he ever came back to Mexico it would be a joy to see him again!!

 

He is a great conversationalist, although he was busy with his conference enjoyed the time we spent together. Very respectful of my home and property. As my first couch surfer was a great experience. Hope to surf with him in Melbourne next year.

 

I had a very nice, and interesting time talking about travel over an iced late and a martini. I hope someday we will be able to travel together to some foreign exciting place: )

Ai and I met up during his stay in Miami. We had a nice time having drinks and conversation. He is inquisative and perceptive so the conversation flows easily.

We had a drink. Drink good, conversation good. We discussed American Cable television and then i dropped him off at the Taco Cabana...i hope he made it home.

in the few hours we spent together I felt like i knew the guy for years! We walked along infamous Haight St, parked at AMOEBA for awhile, strolled through beautiful Golden Gate Park, circuited the de Young Museum for free (I will never forget how we layed on the bare floor to gaze at one of the paintings on the wall), & chatted the entire way. We had not a single dull moment. Ai is an intelligent, humble, humurous, & overall GOOD man. I would highly recommend hosting or surfing with Ai. "To good times Ai, Cheers!"

i met ai the night before his flight for a quick drink. it was my first time couch surfing and i wasnt really sure what to expect. Ai has traveled extensively and had lots of entertaining CS stories.
He is really smart and we had some good convos about education and culture too.

Ai, thanks for the reality check that the rest of the world isn't quite as insane as DC! Lovely conversationalist and chill guy who's up for anything (even giant peanut butter balls), even if he doesn't quite get American football. Welcome in DC any time.
