Groups I Belong ToNot a member of any groups yet. Couch Information
Couch Available: Maybe Preferred Gender: Any Max Surfers Per Night: 1
Shared Sleeping Surface: No Shared Room: NoWhile the couch usually ives in the lounge, it is easily movable to the dining/study, which can be closed off to be self contained. - I live in New Farm - described by the real estate agent I rent through as "the hub" of Brisbane.
- I live by myself.
- I have a simple couch that folds down to a modest single-sized bed.
- No pets.
- Non-smoker.
- New Farm is accessible to the Brisbane River, New Farm Park, the Powerhouse and the hip and happening precincts of Brisbane city and The Valley.
- There is so much public transport available nearby that sometimes I catch a bus to simply cross the road!
- I can potentially show people around (and would try my best to), but I can't make any promises.
- Weekdays I try not to go to bed too late, as I get up early. On weekends late is fine, though. This means that hosting on weekends would probably work best.
- I have a blanket.
- Lastly, I think 4-5 days would be too many. Friends (0)| This user does not yet have any friends on CS. |

Personal DescriptionAll about me:
What can I say? Well, I'm definitely the sort of person who finds it hard to talk about themselves! I enjoy learning about other cultures, but I suppose that's a given since I'm hanging around these parts... I've discovered in my previous travels that you really get the best feel for a place when you get in touch with the locals and see how they live first-hand.
I'm a teacher who has dabbled in a bit of stand-up comedy and I used to sing in a band. My favourite sport is soccer and I play it as often as I can. Also, after having done 2 tours of duty at a high adventure summer camp in the United State of North Carolina, I have a taste for things like rock climbing, white water rafting, mountain biking and other general outdoorsy stuff. I'm by no means an expert at any of these activities, but that doesn't stop me from having a go.
Lastly, but perhaps most importantly on a site like this, I'm a clean and tidy non-smoker who is easy to get along with and enjoys hanging out and having a chat. How I Participate in CSWell, I haven't yet, but look forward to soon...CouchSurfing ExperienceNone!InterestsSoccer, travelling, music, retro clothes, old cars, history, comics... what else... Oh yeah, I like fun. Fun is good.PhilosophyLive and let live is a good philosophy, but I'm also a fan of "plan to plan". If you plan to plan, you fail to fail.Music, Movies, BooksIn no particular order...
Movies: So I Married an Axe Murderer, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Shawshank Redemption, Rebecca, Chasing Amy, Akira, Spirited Away, Dig!, Boondock Saints, Spaceballs.
Music: Badly Drawn Boy, Portishead, Dance Hall Crashers, Hendrix, White Stripes, Beatles, Detroit Cobras, Strokes (first album), Stevie Wonder, Martha & The Vandellas, Sharon Jones. And so on...
Books: Eats, Shoots and Leaves, Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, Flowers for Algernon, Stupid White Men.Types of People I enjoyI hate to sound cliche, but I get along with most people I meet. About the only people I can't stand are those who refuse to listen to any viewpoint that is contradictory to their own. (Is it hypocritical to be intolerant of intolerance?)Teach, Learn, ShareI like to bore people senseless with the Latin roots of words and useless trivia like how Yeardly Smith originally went for the role of Bart but ended up with Lisa instead. Oh, and did you know that the word trivia orginates from the Latin words tri (meaning 3) and via (meaning street)? Apparently there was an intersection in Rome where people would got to find things out grapevine style. Interesting, no? No.One Amazing Thing I've Seen or DoneIn Chile I climbed Villaricca, an honest to goodness active volcano. The climb practically killed me, but seeing actual lava spew forth from the earth made it all worthwhile.Locations TraveledTRAVELED: Argentina, Chile, Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Scotland, United States
What do these numbers mean?
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you. References (0)0Positive 0Neutral 0Negative
