About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To me life is all about experiences. My plan is to experience as much of this big rock that I can... Oh and the people in it!

ABOUT ME

We are a fun, open-minded gay couple. We have been together 21 years... 22 in April 2013. Dave is a wise-cracker and makes people laugh. He likes the simple things... very generous and extremely empathic. loves baseball caps or at least men wearing baseball caps. Cal is a bit more serious, driven but also more adventurous and motivating. He sees the best in everyone and likes to guide people to their full potential. Definitely an interesting guy.

PHILOSOPHY

I sat down one day and wrote down all my personal 'calvinisms' - sorry for all the reading...

The world needs you to be a part of it! It's not about being the ultimate you... that will come with time. It's about trying and aiming for the best you can be today.

We are all alone in our own heart and soul. Sometimes it's hard enough to share your true you to yourself... Let alone anyones elses. Rejoice when it Happens.

Sometimes I feel like I am missing something. Then I realize so does everyone else. That is until we come to together to talk about it.

Take pride in your own diversity. It makes sense that one day you will call upon those strengths to help humanity or a neighbor. Either way you will be glad you have that in you.

I hear over and over that everyday is a miracle. It's even truer if YOU do something with it!

Someone really wise once told me that a successful life is about having a variety of choices. To me. It's also about not holding yourself from making them.

Regret nothing. Imagine you always have an opportunity to make change and restitution. Your the only forgiveness you need.

We should all write down our dreams and aspirations when we turn 18. It may not be feasible to achieve them all but when we are 50 it sure as hell will be fun trying!!

You can't really love everyone. It's not realistic but you can definitely respect them and the value they bring to humanity. Love the ones that have touched you.

I can never achieve what I want to alone. I need someone to share it with or it will add nothing to my experience in this world. I failed to truly achieve every time I isolated myself.

We all should teach and pontificate as we get older. It should be a mandate of society. Our youth need to hear about our experiences, our mistakes and dreams for the future. As remarkable as the vast array of media is around us it is one sided and misses the human touch that only you and your experiences can bring.

Don't let your past inflict your future. You need those experiences. Recognize them as the building blocks to your future authentic self. Likewise, allow others to fail. Think of it... Your watching someone realize their potential.

Like most people I wake up not knowing what the day will bring. Except one and that is how I will react to it.

Adversity is good. It makes us stronger. Good or bad these are the experiences that make up who we are as a society. Without challenge we would not recognize achievement or strive for it.

I trust others to do the right thing. Sometimes there are gaps in that thinking and this only reinforces what the right thing was in the first place.

I grew up feeling awkward and alone and held myself back for it for so many years. This was my own doing of course. I mean, think about it... there are six billion other people on the planet. Someone has to be as awkward as me.

If you admire and appreciate what others achieve let them know your stealing it. This is the best recognition you can give. Although make sure to put your own spin on it. That will make it authentically yours.

If no one told you before 'this is real' and there is only one life. Take every opportunity to try and keep trying until you get it right. One day you will!

Listen to what people are saying then ignore it. Finding your own way through all the distraction is part of the fun!

I can find millions of ways to screw it all up and good. Well, really only one and that is ignoring who I am and the little voice in my head. He always knows what to do if only I would listen.

Find ways to be your own hero. He will truly appreciate it.

Sometimes I want to cry for nothing. I think that's healthy. It's when there is a reason that I can't seem to get to the tears. I think its me trying to solve the problem and not all problems are solvable. One day i will learn.

If you can't be excellent for whatever reason, help others to be!!

Sometime I forget to include me in decisions sometimes it comes out wether it should or not

Let's make excellence happen!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New to this...

Interests

I love Art, painting, geology (I collect cool rocks) and philosophical discussions with really smart people are my things. Dave likes to hear about the history and culture of the places we visit. Dave is a big people watcher... A big voyeur really. Together we like to explore. We love to drive and enjoy motorcycle riding. We love to eat but Dave has some challenges with ethnic foods but is working on it. Ok, he hates vegetables but is trying to eat more. We are really taking time to meet good people and learn about the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Interestingly Dave and I both enjoy Vampire, Werewolf and other supernatural novels and movies

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dave is a teacher and loves working with little kids. His favorite moment was teaching 14 3 yr olds how to do Yoga. I spent a year traveling on the USS Mercy providing microbiology laboratory services to coastal villages... met great people, delivered a baby and saved a few lives. It was remarkable. Together we built a really cool spice and tea company in Denver, Colorado. Right now, traveling to Asia is a daily adventure...

Teach, Learn, Share

Owning a spice store we love to share our interests in cooking. I am a global HR professional and love to talk about people's goals and help guide others along their careers. Love to hear about the condition of life... How are people challenged and challenging the world around them.
