Hey! I don't have any couches but I can show you around -williamsburg- if you'd like. I have a studio in there where I work so I know the area somewhat well.

After almost 3 years in Finland, mastering the language, making lots of local friends and becoming almost famous, I'm in New York. I live alone in a big and cool (literally :) loft in Williamsburg. The location is super convenient for visiting NYC, and we have amazing views of Manhattan too. Come share the fun!
How I Participate in CS
I did host a lot of people in Tampere, Finland and showed them around. I think I won't (need to) be as active in New York. As Tampere was quite an obscure place I felt the need to be a good guide, but I think New York speaks for itself :)
CouchSurfing Experience
I have done more hosting than surfing because of my travel arrangements. I hope I can surf more! :)
Interests
Learning languages spoken by nobody (yes, that's Finnish), getting lost in foreign cities
Philosophy
Whenever I imagine something very crazy, it ends up happening.
Going to Finland the first time to the countryside, going to Finland again to university, touring Europe, taking my Finnish friends to the oil wrestling matches in Turkey :), moving to New York... These were all jokes in the beginning but somehow I made them happen, which is kinda cool :)
I like people who think a bit more than they need.
One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done
In finland, going to the sauna then jumping into a hole made in the frozen lake. It's called Avanto.
Working in Eurovision song contest as a translator and being in the backstage and seeing everything happen from there for two weeks.
Teasing the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland during his visit to Turkey with a question in Finnish and then appearing in Finland's biggest newspaper's third page with a huge picture :)
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.
I really wish I had more time to get to know Cemre because he was a fascinating person. SXSW kept us both wildly busy but when we had time to chat he was obviously incredibly smart, talented, and interesting. He was a very gracious guest that rolled with the punches of my crazy schedule and even brought me a bottle of Raki. Next party I'm getting blitzed Turkish style! He's always welcome back!
Cemre was very very kind to help me to host my friend Eve and me when we stayed without accommodation in NYC.
He is very helpful and trust persom. He also helped me to leave my heavy bags at his loft when I went t o travel on the west sid of USA!
Thank you very much!!!

That's what he is, and I am sooo glad that I met Cemre and shared a portion of my lifetime with him, trying hard for a common passion, to create value.
How could you NOT like a Turkish guy who can sing karaoke in Finnish? I was impressed by Cemre's determination to learn Finnish and how he showed me some very funny things in my culture.
I met Cemre at an improvisation theater-course in Finland. The fact, that he joined the course and after that got involved in making set-up for our theater-show, tells quite a lot of his openminded and readiness to do stuff exchance-students wouldn't normally do. He's very positive person and easy to come along with. I really recommend, oujeah!
I met Cemre in 2006 during his stay in Finland and quickly became friends with him. I have hosted him on several occasions and he has been my guide in Istanbul where his expertise was priceless. He is a great guy and very easy to get along with!

Positive
While I didn't stay at his place, I hung out with Cemre in Helsinki while in Finland. After I got back to the States, he was here for work and crashed at my place (or just left his stuff here) on weekends while he checked out San Francisco. I think he had a lot of fun 'cause I hardly saw him some days! :-D
In taxing circumstances, Cemre showed his true character. I am thankful for getting to know this very conscientious and imaginative guy with a razor-sharp sense of humour. I think anyone will find him both a perfect guest and a perfect host.
