I met him on 'FREE HUGS'and he`s soo funny and nice,outgoing person and he really loves hugs!!!HAHA i want to see him again!

Callum was a very nice and intelligent man! He's really passionate and sincere about how he feels about life! He even took us one by one for a ride on his motorcycle!

Callum was an delightful person to have around. He's trustworthy and reliable. I anticipate a positive experience for all his future hosting mates. He's a very animated, and always up for a nice debate. I enjoyed all his spurts energy, and it was a pleasure to have him around for my New York moments! Mi Casa es Su Casa parce... Hasta Pronto!

Callum is a long standing friend, a cool guy to spend time with and has some great storeis from his travels...you should definitely invite him to surf your couch if you get the opportunity

Even though Callum was ill when he crashed at my couch, he was the best guest a novice host could ask for. He paid for dinner his first night here, provided entertaining conversation when he wasn't hacking up a lung, solved all my Rubik's cubes within three hours of getting here, and did all the dishes (which means he can come back anytime, please)! He's a very good guy with a drive you don't often see. Go people-watching with him sometime: you won't regret it.

Ohhh look what I found! jajajajaja I met Callum and his friend Jose for dinner with other CSers in Mexico City. Callum was a nice quiet guy for the first 30 minutes, afterwards he teased and annoyed me to death ¬¬ even took a picture of me (I HATE that!) but somehow, he's OK and I liked him, and when I can't afford an expensive cab, he doesn't think I'm cheap :)

 

Callum is a maverick, marching to a different drummer, a free thinker, open to discuss any topic while offering a new perspective on things ... as he motorbikes his way across Canada from Calif. to Halifax & then on to Argentina.
He's up for almost anything ... even a talk on "Frankl's Logotherapy."
He's a techie, helpful in many ways and a low maintenance guest.
I wish him fair winds blowing behind him all the way through life.

 

I hosted Callum at the last minute when he decide to attend to our monthly gathering :) He is a very quiet guest and he is interested by what his host are doing he even get up at 5h30 to follow us to a lumberjack contest even if he could have stay in the bed :) Cheers!!!

Callum is a really intense and interesting guy. Thanks for taking the initiative on the Britney Spears tickets, it will be something I definitely won't forget for a long time.

 

It was great meeting Callum. We met up at a Green Party thing!! Political campaign or environmental conference??!! Then he joined me at my friend's place for a small get together! Too bad you left your kilt in San Fran!! For the bit of time we had to chat, I enjoyed his company. I wish we had more time!

Word on the street is, that he auditioned for the lead in 'Boogie Nights', but they were afraid the audience wouldn't believe he isn't fake.

Callum is a braw Scotsman with many interesting tales to be told :) He has a thirst for knowledge and sparks interesting conversation and thinking. Callum is an extremely inspiring individual and free-thinker. My family and I feel privileged to have met him and to have helped him on his incredible journey!

Callum was on a motorbike trip, and posted on our local board that he needed a break from the bad weather. He was an excellent guest, and a cool CouchSurfer. Was hoping to meet up some more at Ness Music Festival, but I'm afraid its all sold out... Best of luck in your travels Callum!

 

I really enjoyed hosting Callum. We talked about a huge variety of things, and though we didn't agree on everything - who ever does?- it was stimulating, thought provoking and at all moments enjoyable. There are so many things we didn't cover so its a shame his visit was so short. Also a shame that I have summer classes! Callum was kind enough to buy me some groceries and left me with a pair of rubber gloves- his dishwasher trademark. Welcome back anytime. Enjoy the road!

 

We partied several times in Vancouver BC, and I already trust him to a high degree. He looks you in the eye when you're talking, and his integrity is clear. My highest recommendations. Hope to see you at Burning Man bro!

Callum was a very friendly and helpful person I bumped into after heading into the wilderness to look for a party. He has an amazing hammock and hat that prove he knows what life is about.

Callum came to stay for 3 days and 10 days later with his Motorbike license finally sorted and in his pocket headed off to the great white north. Callum is a low maintenance surfer and does a great job with the dishes. It was great having evening conversations and listening to his views on certain subjects. Thanks for the rides to work, and the great music selection. Safe riding and see you somewhere around in our many travels :) Now I can finally clean the house!!!

A real straight shooter. Open about himself and his views. Very considerate, flexible, and damn nice guy to have around both to talk real life and to hang out and party. I'd recommend Callum to anyone.

Callum was a pleasant house guest and a fun person to hang out with. He took me for a ride on his motorcycle (never done that before) and brought me home safe. Callum stayed in Seattle for a bit longer after staying at my house, so we later met up for dinner with some fellow csers and it was good times again. I would welcome him back. Happy Travels!

Callum is a great person to spend time with. He is friendly, has interesting perspectives to share, is open to all kinds of discussions, and is respectful of others. I eagerly await reading his soon to be written manifesto to gain further insight . As the first person to ever surf my couch, Callum has left me feeling incredibly enthusiastic about the whole CouchSurfing community.

Callum is an interesting character with lots of oppinions and good ideas. Quite entertaining. I'd host him if he came to Denmark. Just remember - he's from Scotland not England..

he s adventurous, full of energy sometimes might seem a little cold but you ll find the little boy who s inside pretty quickly. We road trip in the desert for 3 days and he was a pretty good companion. And , yeah he learned me to drive with his rental car...

 

Callum introduced me to CouchSurfing when I met him in Cape Town - he explained how it works, and that is why I signed up. He is a great guy, friendly and full of fun, but also with great ideas that he is eager to follow through with. I have been following his progress via his blog since I met him, and would recommend him as both a host and a guest.

He's a amazing boy! He's smart, funny, interesting, nice guy ! Callum is a person who you can learn about the life and the other cultures and other topics.

Callum is really great. He was willing to help me out when I was stuck in a tight situation (meaning suddenly found myself homeless and jobless) and everything he had he offered to share. Callum is an interesting character but always good for a laugh.

 

Callum is a fun guy, even when he is sober. He tried to get the girls to play strip poker while wearing 20 undies but had no takers. Really positive, cheerful chap who lives his life to the fullest. Waiting for him to appear in his kilt the next time eh? Cheers mate.

 

Callum is a great person, who is chilled, fun to spend time with, and just a little bit crazy. He is also very good at debating, having won some award at uni lol... so don't get into an argument unless you have a few spare hours! Callum is a chilled out cat. Stayed at our place for a few days. He is a straight shooter, tells it like it is. Have a wicked time travelling man!

We met with mutual friends . First time was in Kirstenbosch Botannical Park - Ismael Lo concert (from Senegal). It done, we met in Long Street - Cape Town and Ayanda's house.

The Scotsman-with-Kilt himself. Callum is one of those guys that can make me slightly jealous sometimes. Travelling the whole wide world while working online. Seems like a dream job to me, If I only would be interested in IT. He still inspires me and can definitely crash on my couch when he comes to The Netherlands.

He makes me feel like home in SF..we were partying at W in SF and accidentally, he was in the city of Angels before and knew some of us there!!!!totally cool we can talk abt BKK and he understands what "Farang" means!!!will try to convince him go to back to BKK!!!:P

I've met Callum in Cape Town and then hosted him in Johannesburg. He lives a very interesting and dynamic lifestyle, traveling from country to country with his laptop and has lots of exciting stories to tell. Callum is a very inspirational person and if you get a chance to meet him do so...he actually washed the dishes - I've tried to stop him :-) From the references I've read somehow I had the impression Callum is very wild character, however apparently he has stop drinking and smoking and I met him in his more mature chilled stage...Great straight-forward dude. While jiving to the soulFULL tunes of Ismael Lo I learnt that Callum is slightly accentric, has a quirky sense of humour and great fun.

hahha. i had a real blast staying at callum's. he is an awesome host (likes to talk to himself just like me) and he is a lot of fun to hang out with. he has a wicked sense of humor and does great accent impressions. we rode round on our scooters and he introduced me to a heap of really great people. thank you callum! hope to meet you again and of course you are welcome in vienna anytime.

Callum, despite rumors to the contrary ;-) , is a good guy. He means well in the end and treated my home nicer than I do. He won my roommate and I over with plenty of beer and entertaining conversation (in a southern accent) til 3AM. He'll be welcome back at my place anytime.

Callum came to our Xmas Eve get-together. Great open guy active in CS, who seems very open and warm. Surely a great choice for a surf or to host.

Callum was a great host. He gave me a tour of the red light district and showed me how to spot the difference between the girls and girls who used to be boys... Local knowledge is everything...
If your easily offended by crudeness he might not be your cup of tea.

 

I met Calum at a couchsurfing party he organised in vegas. We started off at a beer place near the university - then headed over to the rio for the 'big sleazy party'. I managed to get us all into the VIP room, where there was food and drink aplenty! Calum seems like a really decent chap - shame i wasnt able to host him as i allready had someone else staying.

 

He was the ideal guest! He took me to dinner, did dishes and even pitched in on the heating bill! Wow! He was very respectful and kind! I would gladly host him again! I hope to catch up with him and surf his couch!

 

Callum was a great addition to our potluck dinner. He has a very open personality and he offered lots of travel tips to those of us new to surfing.

 

At the Collective in New Zealand Callum upset our neighbors by noisily and drunkenly urinating in their yard on the way home from a party at 4am. The next day they formed a committee and came over to voice how upset they were. I would be uncomfortable having him on my couch as I'd rather not take the chance of him pissing in the yards of my neighbors.

Callum was really cool. He was so accomodating, even when I got to his apartment butt early in the morning after a long flight from Oz. He took me around Bangkok, introduced me to his friends and helped me get from place to place.
We had some good nights out too!
There were some blurry eyes on more than one occasion getting back from an evening of fun.

Callum was a really cool guy to hang out with who's got a lot of interesting stories to tell. I really hope that I get to know him more during his stay here!

 

I'd known Callum on-line for a while, because we were both involved in the whole OpenCS thing. Then when he came back to Edinburgh for the summer, I made sure to meet him in person too! Callum is a friendly and trustworthy guy, one both to have fun and talk serious with. We may not always agree on tactics, but we definitely agree on the cause! Catch you on the pirate seas matey, arrr.

 

Callum is a real friendly person that seems to have something interesting to say to everyone, and does a mean Glaswegian accent to boot ;) Hope to meet up with him again, everyone should be happy to get acquainted with Callum!

I had an amazing night at the CS Ceilidh in Edinburgh and was so happy to get to be Callum's partner for some of it. His travel and CS experiences are really interesting too. And he's got a great kilt!

Good guy. Easy going and knows how to dance! knows a lot about Edinburgh! meet him! :)

 

A hugable lovable dude, who could easily become a friend, and a man of ideals and convictions, whose wit and astuteness will astonish you.

It was great to finally meet Callum recently and get to know him a bit better! A true Scotsman, and despite his busy schedule Im sure his surfers would have a great Scottish experience staying with him. Without Callum's great dancing and organisational skills at the ceilidh during Edinburgh Rocks, many of the dances would have turned into cs chaos!

I met him at the ceilidh at Edinburgh Rocks and saw him at most of the other events as well. He seems like a super cool guy to hang out with, and Im sad I didnt meet him sooner in Edinburgh! My best memory so far of him is when he pretended to be a sheep dog in order to move his flock (the csers) to espionage club after the ceilidh.

we hugged people and each other at the Free Hugs in Edinburgh. then we wolfed down the best baked potatoes on the way to the picnic, chatting about travels and mnemotechnical techniques... super warm guy :)

 

I was just arrived to Edinburgh...just landed few hours before...and Callum grab me to dance the scottish Ceilidh!!!
at the beiginning I was so confused....I couldn't dance at all, I simply pretended to dance..;-) but Callum was really patient....the best teacher I could wish!!!

Callum the first CS friend I met. Even I couldn't talk english much but still he amazingly could make me laugh :D Also he taught me 'How to think out of the box' I feel so comfortable with him. Callum is the funniest Scotsman I know. We traveled together in New Zealand and he is a great left-side-of-the-road driver, especially when the tank is on empty. I look forward to knowing Callum for a good long while.

Had a good time in Bangkok with Callum, although he was working during the day he gave us good tips!

 

I needed to get out more, and go out we did. Free shows at the Jazz Festival, 'cheap as chips' fish n'chips, a Free Hugs afternoon and a memorable birthday party... Callum got me out of my bubble, in a 'right time, right place', laid back but enthusiastic kind of way. Good times!

 

Surfed with Callum for a couple nights and enjoyed it! Very friendly, great location, and overall good guy. Can't you tell by the neverending list of references?!?!

Talking with Callum is interesting, because he makes a lot of sense, even if you don't agree completely with him. I would have liked to see his take on Bangkok, but hanging at his place in Melbourne was also cool.

Callum's a bright, hospitable fellow with strong opinions.

 

The more time I spend with Callum the more I like him. He has strong values, is a no nonsense guy who is willing to commit himself to something he cares about. I like his style, you know where you stand, and he is honest. He's also interesting and is pretty smart, you can tell he knows what's going on. I hope to see more of him while he's still in Melbourne.

He had us staying for at couple of days in Bangkok while he was preparing his trip to Australia.
Even though he spent the most of his time working and preparing his trip, he still had some time to party with us. We had a very nice time at Callum's. Watch out for the Justin hat.

Although we have hosted numerous people at our home, we never couchsurfed with others until Callum. What a fantastic way to begin our journey. We felt more than comfortable the minute we met. Our only regret is that we did not have more time together. He is an extremely bright and generous guy whom we hope to stumble upon somewhere else in the world. Thanks Callum for everything!

Well Callum here is nice guy, had us staying with great hospitality. He was also nice enough to take us out and see the town, and down some thai beers with us. Beware of his Timberlake Hat, when he puts THAT one on, he's in party mode!!!

 

Cal was our first couchsurfing host. He graciously took us out for a night with the boys and he reveiled to truths to us that night 1. women age like cheese 2. men age like whiskey, they better with age : ) Cal is a great host; he looked after us and called to make sure we made it home safe after a night of partying with him and his buddies. Callum is a good bloke. He introduced me to a lot of my friends when I lived in Bangkok. We had some fun times.

Spent a short night at Callum's place after he brought me partying with his friends. Very precise with directions, there was no way I could have gotten lost. Very nice dude.

Callum took all the stress out of our first day in Bangkok. He provided VERY precise directions, woke up early to let us in, and took us out to a delicious local restaurant.

I sleep in the callum couch for 5 night and meet somenight with callum and friend of callum in diferent place of Bangkok, he show me many interesting places and we pass a great time, i thinks this guy was a great hoster. What I can say about this great Friend?!! Always get some things from him, he introduce me to this website, get a lot of good advices and have a lot of good time with him.

 

Callum is a very good host. I arrived late at night and he was very patient with me. We went partying together, he gave me lots of advice for Bangkok and we had some great discussions. Mate I had a realy superb time staying with you, I hope we see eachother again.

I surfed on his couch with Joe and Nate (no, not Nick, i know by now:)and we went through some clubs and a wonderful private barbecue to his friends house. i apreciate that a lot! Callum is a great man to surf with. He is very generous with his space and a lot of fun. Someone needs to host him when he goes to China -- maybe that will be me; so Callum, drop me a line when you finally go there).

I love Cal, he's funny, does the best impressions, has a great sense of humour and is one of the most generous hosts on Couchsurfing I have met. This month (September 06) his is hosting 14 house guests. Anyone chosen would have the best time with him and I recommend him to anyone want to surf/host him.

In addition to the above Callums house is comfortable and close to the light railway in bangkok. near his house are many restaurants and street hawkers...an ideal way to taste real thai food. he is one stop away from the boat ferry on the main water course therough bangkok. Callum has an excellent knowledge of bangkok and travel in thailand generally and was very helpful in providing useful suggestions on our trip. thanks again Callum!!

It was only a one night stand but good chat, good company, a great host. Would definately look him up again if we were in town.
