I surfed with Cindy and Andy in Denver for a night. It was smooth sailing once their roommate who received me at the door figured out I wasn't an intruder and I figured out I showed up at the right place after all :-) Cindy and Andy are cool, friendly people and good hosts.

If Cindy and Andy were a serial killer, they would be Damher . Now when i say that i mean they are the the utterly fascinating individuals, and wise in the ways of hosting. I can't say enough about how generous, kind, and helpful they were. Andy is a genius and Cindy is one tough babe with a heart of gold. i would entrust them with a hundred kittens. I had lottsa fun times staying with them and their Russian.

I was introduce to Andy and Cindy by my host Helen from LA. The few moments I spent with them was enough to know they are cool and chill people. Thank you for hosting me useful tips about Vegas and my haircut.

Amazing people! I wasnt exactly the greatest guest, but they both were really nice and opened their home to me nonetheless. Cindy and Andy (and Amanda)are the ideal hosts for CS, they are laid back, kind, and have very interesting stories and experiences. My only regret is that I wasnt able to hang out with them more!

 

I have to admit, I was very impressed with these two wonderful people. Their outlook on life is very admirable - no pretenses, straightforward, kind hearted, and WOW! you can soooo tell they are deeply in love :) They are a breath of fresh air.

Cindy and Andy! Where do I begin? These two remind me of hot fudge sauce and a maraschino cherry over ice cream. They are totally a unit of love and fun, and it so obviously shows. I just spent a weekend with Cindy in the beautiful mountains of SE Oklahoma, so that she could contemplate LEAVES!!! Beyond that meditation was watching her feed alpacas, ride wind blown in the back of a mini convertible and awakening to join me at Pam’s Hateful Hussy Diner. You are a first class act and I will cherish the memory.

Meeting Cindy was indeed a treat. Just a really cool gal. I love her spirit and her enthusiasm for life. She threatened bringing her husband out here as well. I hope she follows through with that threat!

Cindy and her mom, Helene, were very gracious hosts. They didn't need my help putting together IKEA furniture, but were willing to accept. (Cindy almost canceled, but I told her that she was on the way and I planned on stopping by, so she let me come anyway). They bought me pizza and gave me great company for the evening. I look forward to hanging out and sharing experiences again in the future.

 

Got to join a last minute trip down to Baja with her. While I was warned that she has gotten lost in Tijuana before, we were quickly out of the city and on the road south. Don't let her fool you, she's quite adept at driving when the signs are confusing (or non-existent).

2 days later and I can truly say that she is an awesome travel buddy with some great stories. Never a dull moment on that trip.

 

Well after some trouble of changing my plans to surf their couch sorry, we finally met in Los Angeles and a few more times in San Diego meetings, they are a great couple hopefully soon they will surf my couch in Mexico city or i will surf theirs on a future vacation :D anyways this is a long overdue reference but really dont miss the chance to meet them if they are near :) if you speak spanish practice with Cindy :D. Staying at Cindy's and Andy's place was like visiting friends.
Which is the best what can happen to you when you stay at a stranger's house...

I met Cindy through posting a Craig's List Rideshare ad. She was very responsible with contacting me about making arrangements for the ride. When a friend and I picked her up, I could not believe that my friend had met her before. You talk about being a small world. Anyway she really is someone that you easily feel comfortable with and really made the long ride seem quick.

After we left vegas we would not shut up about how nice and accommodating andy was. no complaints

I was very fortunate to have stayed with the coolest people in Las Vegas. Cindy is awesome...I mean she invited me to come with her to Los Angeles and Sequia National Park before I even met her in person! She drove me to L.A. where we stayed with her friend and then she drove me to Sequia to go to a couchsurfing campout. They also introduced me to a lot of new things that I never experienced. Andy taught me about gambling, especailly sports betting. Andy's a very smart dude, espcially when it comes to gambling and rock climbing. Thanks for everything guys!!!

I met Cindy on a camping trip in the Sequoias and we had a blast! We had a really warm conversation about some pretty intense stuff and it was really a pleasure to meet someone as open and honest as she is. I definitely would trek out to Vegas just to spend more time with her - she's awesome!

 

I have surfed with Cindy and Andy on two occasions and they have both been wonderful! Hanging out with Andy was amazing! We went out gamblin' and had a radical time! Then I stayed in Vegas with my girlfriend and they hooked us up with a very fancy room at the Imperial Palace for two nights and got us dinner! So great!

Thanks for letting three ladies crash on your futon in vegas!

Cindy and Andy are funny,generous and for our first surfing experience (vs. a whole lot of hosting) it was a very positive one. Next time hopefully we can hang out more!

I met Cindy before in Vegas but really got a chance to hang out in baja at the post Christmas fiesta. Cindy's sweet and fun to be around and she probably got those traits from her mom Helene. Helene's so cool! Cindy and her entire family are welcome here anytime!

Feb: I hosted Cindy for 3 days and it felt more like I had a super roommate than a guest. I just had the best time sitting around talking and laughing about nothing and everything. She's a very caring and compassionate person and I'm very glad I had the opportunity to host and develop our friendship.

Cindy was the great host of a great potluck in San Diego... I didn't know anybody when I arrived but she (and her roommate) helped me to feel comfortable.
I then met her (and Andy) again at a dinner in SD and Cindy by herself in LA at an other dinner I organized
Plus I got the chance to meet her mom Helene twice, a lady who not only shows up but enjoys talking to CSers, a great surprise
(I realize that I used "great" 3 times... but what's wrong with that ? Aren't 1Cindy + 1Andy + 1Helene worth 3 times great ? :D)

Had the pleasure of meeting Cindy at a bon voyage party this weekend. She's a lot of fun to talk with, and incredibly generous to boot (she gave me a ride all the way back to my humble abode). I can only expect that paired up with Andy, my head would spin right-round like a record (baby). Looking forward to seeing her again, and to meeting Andy!

Cindy and Andy are an awesome and very cool couple! I had just signed up for CS and already they took the initiative to invite me into the group and hang out. That alone shows a great deal of trust and openness which I think is what CS is all about. I look forward to hanging out some more with these guys!

Cindy and Andy Blair are a wonderful and friendly couple with a positive outlook in life! They have traveled very extensively, and they seem to just pass the travel bug around. I enjoy meeting up with them while they were in Albuquerque and was privileged to share in their experiences.

 

I met Cindy and Andy at a CS party when they were couchsurfing at Brian's house in ABQ. They were fun and very informa-tive about couchsurfing. The next night they came to our house for dinner and accompanied us and our grandchildren to a local holiday event. They cheerfully ate PB&J sandwiches for dinner and were kind to the children. I found them to be interesting, fun, curious and gracious. I look forward to a longer visit and would be happy to have them couchsurf with us if they return to Albuquerque.

 

I met these guys after I first joined and invited them to stay with me. They helped me get involved with the ABQ group and were awesome guests. They were great company and very appreciative.

I love Cindy and Andy and want to adopt them both! Cindy is a master mojito maker and Andy fixed my hot water tank so that I was able to take a hot bath for the first time in two months. Definitely will try to work out the Vegas plan.

Cindy and Andy were GREAT! They were extremely friendly, kind and had tons of good stories. I couldn't have asked for a better pair to host for my first time. Fishing will happen!!!

Cindy took Ivy and me out for pizza and beer, followed by she and Andy going with us hiking! They were very cordial, gave us rides, and even bought us food! The best part was a three way tie between Andy's career stories, Cindy's mojitos, and their overall adventurous outlook on life.

Andy and Cindy were very easy go get along with, happy, and gracious. I was very excited to host them and was glad that they came through! Excellent guests, I hope to see them again.

I'm a little bummed that they told everyone that I'm not in fact a statue, but what can you do about it?

cindy and andy were great couchsurfers. both great people and super respectful guests. they even gave nate and i a 12 great little presents, each in the shape of a beer bottle, and, not surprisingly, filled with beer! thanks cindy and andy. you've always got a place to stay here in memphis, or wherever i may be!

We met Cindy and Andy at the Vegas pot luck hosted by our daughter Andrea. We had heard many tales about them from our daughter, who was hosted in Hawaii along with them at James Yuen's. Enjoyed our conversation, and good food was shared by all.

Very nice people. They stayed over one evening when our pal James had car trouble. Come back any time :)

 

Cindy and Andy were great guest they used the guest room and made the bed better than the way the received it. I would defiantly host them again if they ever needed a place to stay.

Cindy & Andy are the embodiment of hospitality! No 'fear' or 'loathing' in las vegas for you when you're hosted by these two wonderful people.

I slept on their couch for one night to be closer to my pick-up location for a Grand Canyon tour while I was staying with Amanda. I met them a few times for beers, sushi and a fake tattoo ;o) and had good fun.
They are both very friendly and amazing persons.

 

Great person to know in Vegas! We hung out by the pool and enjoyed the afternoon. We've hung out quite a few times in Vegas and have also road tripped to Mexico together. She didn't even kill me through the whole episode... Heart of gold that lady! :-)

 

She couldn't host us due to no fault of her own, but she found another CSer to host us. She helped us out in our time of need. We also met up with her for brunch. She seemed cool.

Cindy& Andy are an awesome couple. They are both very interesting people who are very welcoming& hospital. I couch surfed some nights with my fried Robin in Vegas with them and we had some great adventures together going hiking, doing yoga, watching a show. I very much appreciated that Cindy got up twice very early for me to bring me to the bus and the airport. Thank you both a lot :)

 

Cindy is fabulous. I invited her and her friends to surf my couch after I read her post on the Baja Group. Even though I had just had lots of company, she seemed so interesting that I just had to meet her. I'm glad I did. We had a great time and I hope she will come back soon and bring more of her kind to Baja. Thanks for the rain!

Met Cindy and Andy at a CS Vegas dinner and got to hang out with them for beers and dinner the next night. Two very cool people who have good hearts and are a blast to get to know. I hope our paths will cross again in the future. :)

These two are fantastic - they were more than happy to host me, and are two of the most generous people I know. I had the best time talking with them, and sharing interests. They were the highlight of my trip, and probably set the couch surfing bar too high. I cannot wait until our paths cross again.

It was a pleasure meeting Cindy for the first time especially because she is a down to earth (earthy), very friendly, talkative, patience(hmm.:0), good company & friend to have n meet!(SERIOUSLY).

Me and a friend ended up staying with Cindy and Andy at the very last minute and WOW! They are super cool, really nice and welcoming people. I felt at home right way with both of them. We had some good times, hanging out and launching paper airplanes. Vegas was just okay, but having the chance to meet Cindy and Andy was great. I look forward to seeing them this winter.

Deserve the best, because they are some of the best hosts. Through them we were able to experience Vegas like VIPs and had an amazing time.

Cindy and Andy were really helpful, saving us from getting robbed by the monorail system, taking us out for a breakfast buffet and giving us a few gambling pointers before we went out on the strip. Their condo was very upscale, as well.

Cindy and Andy are fun, funny, easy-going people with a great pad. I look forward to seeing them at more CS parties.

I met Andy, and also later Cindy, on my trip to Las Vegas. They offered me their couch on a pretty short notice. They're two really nice and relaxed guys. It's fun just to hang around with them and to talk about traveling, sports or anything else. They invited me for lunch for three times and also to use their great pool. Andy gave me a free shuttle service from and to the airport. Thanks a lot for that.
Well, it was great meeting you guys and I hope we'll see again in San Francisco or San Diego. Maybe for rock climbing, kite boarding or sailing :-)

just a few days could make quite a long story, rrrrright?
first Cindy and Andy joined our Poolparty in Vegas, then they hosted a quick sitin in their suite the same day, suddenly cindy got the spontanous idea to join us to LA, hopped into our car the next morning and kept me awake while driving the sleeping nuts through the dessert of nevada, spent an awesome afternoon in venice beach, followed the reggae drum spirit while dancing on the beach into the sunset, got both hosted by my hero marco and had this real amazing indian food the next day right in front of the airport...
but beside all this facts, there is way more to say about cindy, cindy has an golden heart and is curious about the humans, she is pretty inspiring and simply easygoing and laidback.

Cindy and Andy are great. I have hung by the pool with her, drank with her and even went to the gym a few times. She rocks!! Just don't expect her to bring the tent if you go camping with her. We travelled to Zion and laughed a lot and realized we have a fair amount in common. Don't leave Vegas for too long!!!

There's never a dull moment with Cindy and Andy.I had the pleasure of being hosted in their gorgeous apartment and from getting poker tips and flying planes off the roof with Andy to going shopping n hanging out at the pool with Cindy and despite the fact that she was feeling under the weather,she took the time out to take me around in the scorching heat to show me the sights and sounds of vegas.Cindy is very resourceful.From scoring free tickets to shows to hitting double black jacks at hooters (She is a great cook and she will cook for u if u ask nicely.)I will vouch for them anytime and i will be back!

 

Andy and Cindy organized a pot luck in Las Vegas, which was great fun to join in. I enjoyed meeting them and look forward to meeting again, when I'm back in Vegas next month.

Cindy is a great person. She aproaches new things with an open mind, she gives very ground-bounding advice and .. has this odd compulsion for cleaning and moving things arround

which really comes in handy !!

She can follow through hours of party and will be friendly to all your friends and guests =)

Cindy and Andy are really nice people, we spent a few days at their place at the end of our trip and it was amazing. We had a great time spending our last evening in the usa with them.

 

My West-Coast (s)trip started in Vegas at Cindy & Andy's place, which made it a perfect beginning. 'Perfect' is seriously the right word to describe the time I spent there. Both are intelligent, warm hearted, extremely (!) generous & welcoming people, and if you get the chance to crash at their place, you should take it. Take it and be prepared to have an amazing time in Vegas.

Yep...the comment about being blindfolded in the trunk at the grand canyon pretty much sums it up. Thanks for showing us such a good time!

 

Cindy and Andy *made* my trip to Vegas. They were wonderful hosts, and are warm, lovely people with a lot to share. And fun to go out with; I've never drunk so much Corona in my life. Yum. I hope I see you guys again, in Laos? DC? Australia? Who knows?!

There's this thing in Vegas, in the old downtown area, the soon-to-be-refurbished-but-still-no-one-will-live-there area, where this giant arched ceiling of lights plays crazy, cheesy, somewhat embarrassing (or appalling) straight out of the eighties videos while the people underneath stare up and gawk and feel somehow enlightened for a few minutes. Now, I'm not going to draw any direct correlations between the light show and Cindy and Andy, but if you were to make the assumption that they are equally as outrageous and yet at the same time down to earth and strangely satisfying, I wouldn't say that you were too far off the mark. What can I say, they inspire people to poetry.

 

Well, it is difficult to top Marc's comment above. We were there together for a few days. Cindy and Andy had a lot of inside information for us and were very welcoming. They are definately the best guides through a city as crazy as Las Vegas. I am glad to have met them and to have seen a way of life completely new to me.

Visiting Las Vegas without meeting up with Cindy and Andy seems a bit like visiting the grand canyon tied up and blindfolded in the trunk of your car.

Cindy and Andy are really laid back and go with the flow type of people. We have traveled together a bit and they have stayed in my home often. I trust them with a key to my home.

These guys are amazing, completly went out of their way to accomidate us, thank you so much, hope you come to visit soon

 

Cindy and Andy ensured my first 3 nights Vegas were fantastic! Great people, awesome location, zoning out by the pool & catching a show were just what I needed. Another great couch surfing couple that you simply have to get to know!!

Anyone lucky enough to see Vegas through these guy's eyes will enjoy themselves thoroughly. Andy and Cindy are really up for anything. A night on the booze: Sure - A quite night in: you bet - A hike in the wilderness: No worries there. A real pleasure to meet these people. Looking forward to showing them my home.

I went to Vegas with my friend Kali with almost our entire purpose to drink and party, since we had both desperately needed a carefree trip. When I posted on the CS Vegas board about advice about places to go, Cindy replied with some excellent advice and also offered to take Kali and I hiking at Red Rock near Vegas. This didn't fit into the original party-plan, but it sounded so fun and Cindy and Andy looked nice, so we took them up on it.

They were great. And surprisingly understanding, because there's a chance that we were still drunk from the night before. Andy is an amazing climber (possibly spiderman in disguise) and they were both clearly love couchsurfing. If you go to Vegas and get a chance to meet these folks, it is a mistake not to. Plain and simple.

 

Cindy and Andy were great guests. Very open and honest, fun to chat with. Got Andy to dance some reggaeton for the first time in his life, and helped Cindy with her Spanish. I'd have them back any time at my place. A+ surfers.

They get the couchsurfing idea about meeting new people and making connections. Not only are they really extra interesting but they also make a conscious effort to chat with you about whatever and make sure that your plant-like existence (when there is no surf) has plenty of sun and water. They sometimes have questionable taste in liquor but good taste in beer.

Oh they are the greatest! They introduced me to new worlds of ASCII pinups and advanced forms of graceful civil disobedience. I would have them back in a second!

Cindy is a gem and has been forever. She is fun to be around and calming at the same time, a worthwhile person to host or visit as is her husband Andy. Her depth and breadth of knowledge is fascinating and eclectic and appreciates everytime I see her. I had a great time being hosted by them for 4 lovely sun-drenched Las Vegas days and 1 gin-soaked night when they got married and have jointly couch-surfed our family's houses many a time. And they made me aware of CouchSurfing so they're kind of like my "in" as well.

 

They are AWESOME. We had such a good time. Neither of us expected to have fellow couch surfers and we ended up spending my whole trip hanging out and doing lots of fun stuff!!!! I would recommend the to anyone!!!!

 

they were neat, friendly, thoughtful, and very quiet. we didn't have a chance to go spelunking, but their trip isn't over yet!

 

Beyond Awesome. This couple is quite possibly one of the coolest, most hospitable couples around. They were my first couch surfing hosts, and maybe even set the bar a little high. They showed us around Vegas, took us to places that we could like and drank with us. The couch is comfortable and the house superbly comfortable. Needless to say, this was the best possible experience I could have asked for (except being really tired from the drive). Thanks Cindy and Andy, you rule! Let's do it again sometime, like Thursday! My roommates and I threw an extrapleasant dinner party that turned into and extraHUGE dinner party. Cindy and Andy attended, but alas, I was not able to chat much with this lovely duo enough. Other guests of ours did, and commented that they were wonderful and should be invited back again. Which of course, they are anytime.

It was great hosting Cindy, anyone that understands my sense of humor and can appreciate good sushi... even if it takes 45 min. to drive there-is ok in my book! If you appreciate individuals w/a sense of humor, sense of adventure, and someone open to "the experience' (whatever it may be), then you will enjoy Cindy!! She's a great conversationalist /listener, and bares quite a resemblance to Martha Plimpton (circa 1980's). Looking fwd. to mtg. Andy & camping w/this duo in the future.

 

We've become yoga friends, healthy food seekers, booze cruisers, costumed bike riders, tea drinkers, walmart parking lot purveyors!!!

meeting cindy and andy through couchsurfing would be a dream come true! these peeps are sooooo much fun to travel with. and cindy is the most fun roommate ever, just ask her about the neil diamond alarm clock.

What a great couple! They picked me up at the airport, were immediately welcoming, shared a fun night driving the strip, and went for a nice hike at Red Rock Canyon. They were quick to share knowledge, food, and fun!

Always bet on black! Cindy and Andy put me and my mate tom up for a night and although our stay was brief it was thoroughly enjoyable. They were the perfect hosts and had beers and pizza ready for us on arrival! They are a lovely couple who went out of their way to make us comfortable.Just wish i had listened to andys gambling advice! Good luck with the RV and thanks.

 

Cindy and Andy are the best! I got to stay with these guys for only two short, quick nights, but they were great. They were so helpful with directions, and advice about what to do on the strip. They even had these adorable 3 kittens that they rescued out of a storm drain! If you get the chance to meet up with them, take it, they are great, fun, friendly people.

A Wonderful Pair. Cindy and Andy are truly wonderful people. I honestly felt as if I was staying with old friends and had known them for years. They were full of great climbing information, and took me out for a fantastic tour of the strip after my climbing event. If you get the chance to meet, host, or surf with these guys, jump at it! They are amazing! I was so sad to leave Vegas and can't wait to see them again!
