My couch is a pull out double sofa in the livingroom. Although it is a double my place is small so I would prefer one couchsurfer however may consider two under the right circumstances. I have just moved to downtown Vancouver and have a small one bedroom apartment. I'm very central to explore Vancouver and close to transportation if you want to head to the outskirts.
Smoking is not allowed in my building nor do I have pets. I'm very busy during the week, many days I don't get home until 9:30 pm so I'm unable to show people around during the week or really spend a lot of time with them. If you are fine with that then I'm ok hosting during the week. Weekends would be my preference as to me couchsurfing is about getting to know each other not just a place to stay. I have extra blankets and pillows so you don't have to have your own. I will not host anyone without a complete profile so please don't ask me unless you've spent some time filling out your profile so I get an idea who you are. I am willing to host 2-3 days max unless we really get along then I may consider additional days.

I am at a point in my life that having fun, trying new things and finding new adventures has become a priority. I love to travel, talk to strangers and end up with friends, learn about new cultures which helps broaden my mind. The adventure of exploring new countries, meeting people that live there and getting to know them is an experience that has been both rewarding and invigorating over the past three years.
I am very easy going, making it a point to enjoy life, try almost anything once, and laugh as much as possible. I have a business side but I also have an artistic side. I love art galleries, slam poetry, storytelling, listening to live music and drinking red wine. Oh I love to dance. If you love to dance then a bond will be formed forever :)
I have always been taught to treat people the way I want to be treated and I ensure I do this. The thought of getting to know people in the places I travel, being welcomed into their homes, learning from them and helping out if I can (I love doing dishes:) while I'm staying with people is very appealing to me. I find it exciting that through couchsurfing I am lucky enough to have access to an experience like this.
How I Participate in CS
I started with couchsurfing by heading to Ireland and trying it out. I stayed with amazing people and enjoyed it so much I plan to do it as much as possible or as my vacation time allows.
I've been hosting travellers since September 2009. I've met some truly wonderful people. We've shared food, stories and experiences. It is important to me that my home is one that is comfortable and really a home away from home to those that stay with me.
I would also love to meet new couchsurfers in my area, show them around, have a drink, go on an adventure such as hike or explore the city.
CouchSurfing Experience
An amazing experience was backpacking for three months around Europe. I tried to couchsurf or meet couchsurfers in as many places as possible. I met so many amazing people through the couchsurfing project!
I have also been couchsurfing in Ireland, Scotland and Germany in previous years. I've had great experiences in all of the places I've travelled and made friends that I hope to know for a long time.
I have hosted people from all over the world. I feel so lucky to get to meet so many travellers and have them in my home. Through hosting I have met individuals that I hope to visit one day. My journey to Germany was to visit one of my couchsurfers, Daniela and without knowing her I wouldn't have had such a great time in Munich.
I hope to continue hosting and surfing for years to come.
Interests
Hiking, snowshoeing, rollerblading, exploring, dancing, socializing, interesting conversations...I have even tried ziplining in Whistler. When I'm visiting a new country I like to explore and experience it.
Philosophy
I know everyone says this but I trully live it. Life is short so why sweat the small stuff. I try to have fun, laugh and enjoy time with my family/friends. When I travel it's all about enjoying myself and being low stress. I'm not someone who stands on the sidelines, I like to participate. I have a gypsy spirit, which yearns for travel and excitement.
Music, Movies, Books
I love movies and reading. I read as much as possible. I read 16 novels when I was on my three month adventure in Europe. I'm open to new ideas on things to read and movies to watch. I enjoy reading books from local writers in the areas that I travel so I tend to buy books in the places I visit and pass them on to other travellers when I'm done.
AS for music, I enjoy all types of music. To be honest I'm not crazy about country but I have a friend that loves it and I will listen to it with her. I have been gathering new music from people I've met through couchsurfing. I've acquired alot of great music that I would never have considered listening to. Thanks John, Adam, Amy and Leo!
I enjoy going out, listening to music and dancing. I try and do this as much as possible. I believe both of these are good for the soul.
My music collection is growing. My host John in Ireland downloaded tons of great music for me on my IPOD and a few of my couchsurfing guests have also shared their musical libraries with me. I think it's great to open your mind to new experiences.
Types of People I enjoy
I enjoy people that are positive and like to have fun. I have found that I can learn something new from everyone I meet.
I have to say that the most amazing experience was when I spent time in the Sahara Desert. We rode out on camels, hiked the dunes, slept on a blanket under the full moon. The quiet and calmness of the desert was rejuvenating and it was an experience I will never forget. Sitting on top of the highest sand dune looking across the desert is a memory I will always keep with me.
I am hoping to hike the volcanoes in Nicaragua and zipline in Costa Rica this year. Now that would be a wonderful experience.
Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org Project
So far I'm impressed with the couchsurfing website and the experience.
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.
Constance is such a free spirit and very open and generous. She made her couch (and home) available to me even though her life is obviously so full in so many ways. It really helped me during a weekend when I had to attend a workshop in Vancouver. Thanks Constance! I'm glad we got to connect.
~A very grateful CS.
Note: She has a comfy sofa bed, super cozy bedspread, and a secured underground parking spot.
Connie was SO generous, it was hard to believe it was true. We got in later, by like 4 hours, than expected (at 1:30am) and she was gracious enough to still offer me her couch, even though she'd gone to bed 3 hours prior. She allowed me to use her landline to call the states with her unlimited long distance, and expressed interest in hanging out with me despite her full schedule (and mine). She clearly enjoys the couch surfing experience, and I think that anyone, esp. those that have more time on the weekend to hang out with her more, would enjoy Connie's company. Oh, and that hide-a-bed is awesome...at least for those us of us 'shorties!'
Connie was a warm and welcoming person! Her place is very clean and comfy as well as located right in the heart of downtown Vancouver ~ with parking too! Thank you so much for hosting us Connie! We wish our schedules would have aligned better to take you out to dinner. It was a pleasure being your guest.
Constance welcomed me with such a warm reception - a homemade meal my first night and great company and conversation throughout my stay. She offered me advice on sites to visit and shared a walk with me through the lovely Stanley Park, with her friend, and nature-enthusiast ☺. She, herself, is a resilient and open spirit; I loved my stay with her and hope to cross paths again in the future.
We surfed Connie´s couch in Vancouver and it was a blast. Connie is a very warm, sweet person and she made us feel comfortable at her place as if it was our own. We definitely can advise to get to know her, she is great! Hope to see you soon in Germany :)
Though Constance has a very busy life, she is a fantastic host and am delighted to have gotten to know her. She is very interested in getting to know about her surfers and enjoys connecting with them on a personal level. She's very trustworthy, humorous and lights up the room with her smile and laugh. It's a shame you weren't able to come out on my excursions, but perhaps another time.
Connie was such a gracious hostess with the mostest! I even had snow-related travel delays and she so happily hosted me another day, making sure I felt as at home as her own son who was visiting almost! If I did pass the exam I was taking while in town, I owe this in part to her being so easy-going and able to host me so close to the exam location! I just hope we didn't live far apart and hope to host her when she's in town soon!
