CouchSurfing ExperienceI have surfed throughout the USA and Mexico, Canada, Netherlands, Spain, Morocco, Thailand and Ghana. My favorite, however, is hosting. I have met some of the most interesting people in my life while hosting in my small studio.Intereststravel, philosophy, music, beaches, relaxation, reading, writing, dancing, playing, laughing, loving, being... adventurePhilosophyI think it is important to spend ones time developing relationships with few people, so you can truly know them. I also think it is important to be open and loving to all people, so you can find joy and safety wherever you happen to be.Types of People I enjoyI enjoy all types of people. adventurous or laid back, musically inclined, artistic, or haphazardly talentless, it's all the same to me. as long as they have an open mind and are looking for fun, I am looking for them.
I do not enjoy mean people, racists or sexists.Teach, Learn, ShareTeach:
Laughter, cooking mexican food, how to ride a bike, smiling, entrance examinations for business, graduate and law school, business ethics, philosophy, accounting.
Learn:
I want to learn- Photography, dancing, cooking anything except Mexican, unicycle, juggling, soccer (futbol), sky diving
Have to learn: I have to learn to meditate. If you can teach me (seriously, I think too much), I will owe you a good blessing.

We can talk about books, politics, health care, pretty people, surfing or anything else. One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Donei saw a naked protest in new orleans. but that wasnt too amazing, just kind of funny. i ran out of water in the sahara, that was scary. i helped a boy with typhus drain his bowels and force fed him food after two days of no eating. it was pretty gross. i helped a pcv not drown in akwaada, ghana.Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org ProjectThis website has grown into something very positive and fantastic.Locations TraveledTRAVELED: Mexico, Singapore, Laos, India, Iceland, Japan, Thailand, Ghana, Switzerland, United States, Canada, Netherlands, Morocco, Spain, China References

From Michael Mandlin New York, United States Dec 5, 2008 Positive Craig is the bomb. He has a way of being a guy you've known for ages, after only a few hours. He and Krystal showed me around town and I had a great time. He has a 'my house is your house' mentality and made me feel quite comfortable there. It's a shame us Americans are losing him for a time, but our loss is Bangkok's delight, and I wish him the best.

From The Duchess Houston, United States Nov 24, 2008 Positive Craig is my Ghanaian brother and we share a love for kelewele and fufu and all things Ghanaian. He is a great storyteller and has some rather seedy stories about Ghana that I LOVED hearing. It was great sharing our experiences together. You can't help but to smile when you think of Craig. When I say this guy is caring I really truly mean it. When I was laying sick and dying he played the ukulele for me. Can a person be any kinder than that? And when no one else wanted to, he cracked open a baby chicken embryo with me. He is a stand up guy and I hope I get to see him again!
From Lisa Smith Perth, Australia Nov 24, 2008 Positive Chris.... I mean Craig is lovely!!
Im not sure what to write as we had such a good time getting to know each other over the course of 2 drunken days!
He is a very decent guy, friendly and thoughtful, and goes to that extra length to make you feel welcome and show you the good things.
Took me to Taco Taco for some fine dining in San Antonio and shared many beverages and laughs at the leaving party!
He is a sweet as guy, who I guarentee you will get on well with, and you MUST either host or stay with him if the situation arises!
Mention, you are from Australasia for bonus points!!
Love, you Australasian friend, Kangaroo Face, aka Lucy/Lisa xoxo
From Iosu Garcia Arrieta Bilbao, Spain Nov 24, 2008 Positive Craig hosted us for one night in San Antonio. He took us to a really good restaurant for dinner and gave us information of cool places to visit in the city. He taught us how to play to "Caps". It was really fun. He was a very good host.
From Captain Judith RoMance San Antonio, United States Nov 23, 2008 Positive Anytime I've been around Craig, he's got something to talk about. He's the sweetest guy! He brought me to an election party where I got to witness a historic moment surrounded with the people whose country's fate was being decided. Very memorable times; he'll make you feel at home.
From Richmond Garwood San Marcos, United States Oct 29, 2008 Positive Craig is a VERY funny guy! We met in person at the Austin Potluck 10-25-08 and laughed a lot. I have just moved to San Antonio and Craig is helping me to meet the San Antonio CS crew.
As San Antonio CS Ambassador, Craig has also helped move sleepy San Antonio into the Couchsurfing Universe. Hang with Craig, and you'll meet some GREAT people! Thanks Craig!
From Matthew Stender Kowloon West, China Oct 29, 2008 Positive Craig is a great guy. San Antonio is lucky to have him as a CS ambassador. I hope to surf his couch in Bangkok one day.
From Douglas Bass San Marcos, United States Oct 29, 2008 Positive Craig is a really cool dude. He's really devoted to improving the Couchsurfing experience in San Antonio, and is an asset to the CS community. Great guy to hang out with, I hope to see him more often.

From Alejandro Johnson Seoul, South Korea Oct 27, 2008 Positive What can I say? He's a responsible drunk, one of only four who are hip enough to spend the night after a wild day of drinking. In addition his conversation is smooth, his intellect is stimulating, and he wants to move to...Bankok!?!?! Hey, well they need more Texans, I'm sure. After all...who doesn't need more Texans?
*Update*
Craig is the most CSingly nice man I know. A great group moderator, a treasure to the community, a gentleman and a scholar, a connosiour of fine beverages, and a dancer, but I've never seen him dance.
From Davey Kay Austin, United States Oct 27, 2008 Positive Well what can I say, I took his wallet, cell phone, drivers license, keys, and money! I'm def going to hell for that, but we returned it and he forgave me so were all friends now. Craig is a real cool guy with a great CS attitude, hope to see him at some more events and get togethers.
From Florencia Rojo Chicago, United States Oct 26, 2008 Positive Craig is awesome, he kindly gave me a ride to a CS potluck. He is a very friendly guy and is fun to talk to. He even kept smiling when his car keys and wallet took a little field trip to Austin without him.
From John Jameson San Antonio, United States Oct 26, 2008 Positive Craig is a cool guy with alot of expierence, and so many good stories to tell. He's traveled alot and knos alot of his own city. Craig is a great guy to hang out with.
From Reino Folmer Utrecht, Netherlands Oct 17, 2008 Positive What is there to say about a man who shelters friends pets, helps out drunk friends of friends and arranges your next place to stay? Craig is absolutely somebody who knows the spirit of couchsurfing. Enjoyed his company and that of his friends. Hopefully we meet again somewhere, someday
From Lorena Perez Goleta, United States Oct 11, 2008 Positive Awesome human being with a warm heart and willingness to learn and teach and give and receive the grand and beautiful things this life has to offer.
From Cassie Bedgood Austin, United States Oct 5, 2008 Positive Craig has a wonderful soul. He is honest when you need someone to be and silly when you don’t. I haven’t found a judgmental bone in his body. I could go on for pages about how Craig is totally awesome but really he’s an experience that can’t be written down just yet.
From Leslie Rasch Denver, United States Sep 8, 2008 Positive Craig is brilliant. He's a guy with many talents; scaling rocks, photography, the art of travel, and of course having fun! Craig is a happy guy and he shares that energy with those around him.
From misssssafari Augsburg, Germany Aug 26, 2008 Positive Craig's second name is probably 'the perfect host'. Honestly, he's so positive, welcoming, caring, social, open for new experiences, well-traveled, understanding, communicative... it was such a pleasure to be his guest. He took me out for tubing, dancing, and made me taste the best taco in America! Wow!
Thanks for all, Craig the perfect host Gonzales!
From Hannie Blair Yeongdeungpo-gu, South Korea Aug 24, 2008 Positive I just realized that I never left a reference for Craig. As everyone else has said, Craig is the kind of man who makes couchsurfing successful. He's a fabulous human being who will be greatly missed in the San Antonio couchsurfing circuit. He's makes friends with everyone he touches, and has an absolutely magnetic personality. I'm excited for his move just so that people in Thailand get to meet such a fabulous representative from our little country!
Thank you so much for everything Craig! Have fun in Thailand and don't forget that you're AWESOME!
From Libby Parrott London, United Kingdom Aug 24, 2008 Positive From the beginning, I've always seen that spark of life in Craig, but it wasn't until his incredible journey to Morocco that he became an inspiration to travel. He may say he wants to live the life I lead, but the feeling is mutual. He's crescent fresh at best.
From SUITEWOO New Orleans, United States Aug 22, 2008 Positive Craig was really welcoming and friendly and immediately brought my friend and I to an awesome bar as soon as we got into town. He is a lot of fun to hang out with, and showed us a great time despite us arriving late at night on a random weekday.
From Lee Canet Alpine Heights, United States Aug 21, 2008 Positive thanks for showing us the good times...Limelight was awesome..
it was good to meet two other couchsurfers, while staying with craig
From Anna Reinholdsdotter Nantes, France Aug 19, 2008 Positive We were able to fit all six of us in his little studio together with him, his girlfriend and the dog. We had a great time at the local bar playing pool and really appreciated the Mexican breakfast the morning after! Btw, we did go tubing which was great!!

From CRISTALinahababina Athens, United States Aug 8, 2008 Positive Very amiable and a great catalyst for a good time. Hooray for Texans!
From Parker Whiteway Chicago, United States Aug 6, 2008 Positive Craig and I share the concept of "no limits" hosting, so I told him and travelling companions, sure! You can be #'s 8-10 to be surfing my floor for Lollapalooza weekend. Good times had by all. Great guy.
From Josse Jossan Stenungsund, Sweden Aug 4, 2008 Positive Craig in a wonderful person who hosted me, my boyfriend and our friends during our stay in San Antonio. Craig showed us his favourite places in San Antonio and we had a great time together with him and his friend Chrystal. Wished we could have stayed longer...

We really enjoyed San Antonio and the night out! Thanks alot and you are very welcome to sweden! And by the way, thanks for the tip abut the tubing, it was really nice, cool and relaxing!!
From DAYTRIPPIN San Diego, United States Aug 4, 2008 Positive Great guy. Had a blast with him at parkers place in chicago. We had a big group that all went to lollapalooza! Cheers mate. Come visit NZ anytime. Peace.
From David Alvarez Atlanta, United States Jul 29, 2008 Positive craig's a very interesting and respectful person. his spirit seemed to me as ever hungry and full of admiration for the world we live in.. that's a virtue more of us should have
From Emily Yager Washington, United States Jul 24, 2008 Positive Immediately after meeting Craig, I could tell that he's one of those San Antonians who knows where the cool hang-outs are. (I know where the libraries are.) When the bouncer/doorman at a bar wouldn't accept our international friend's national ID card and other documents as proof of his age, Craig knew a place that was more understanding (i.e., less totalitarian).
From the stories he told, it's obvious that Craig seeks out fulfilling experiences in whatever culture he finds himself immersed in -- be it in College Station (in Texas) or Ghana. He's easy to be around, has a lot to say, and knows way too much about UFC. He may not have much space in his efficiency apartment, but he's very generous with it. I recommend him to anyone -- and six of their friends.
From Cristian De Francisci Verona, Italy Jul 22, 2008 Positive After some messages, finally I met him for a lunch and the both of us needed a rest after the previous night with several drinks..so we drunk a margarida..lol. I had good vibes from the beginning. He is a good guy and a formidable entertainer. Funny, clever and with tons of stories to tell. He invited me also at his place where we had relax. I met different CS ambassadors and I can say that Craig must be one of them. He has the perfect spirit and the charateristics to be a great ambassador. I have been lucky to meet him. Thank you for everthing, hope to meet you again!
From Kate Harrison San Luis Obispo, United States Jul 13, 2008 Positive Craig was a wonderful host for the brief time I was in San Antonio! He suggested good veggie friendly places to eat and took my friend Marni and I out for a fun and memorable night on the town! He is an overall great person not to mention host!
From Joseph Marshall Gobles, United States Jul 1, 2008 Positive Craig is a wonderul host! He was extremely nice and worked around his schedule and mine for an all-round great experience! If you are staying in San Antonio, I would try and stay with this guy!!! He went above and behond as a host!
From Jeppe Lange Copenhagen, Denmark Jun 18, 2008 Positive I was supposed to stay with Craig in San Antonio, but a bunch of accidents did that we never made to meet each other. My rideshare from New Mexico kept postpone the date of the ride and in the end I had to take a greyhound.
Craig was really flexible though I kept changing my plans and changed his own plans to fit mine.
I haven't met him yet. That's the reason why I only rate him as positive and not extremely positive.
From Melissa Meyer Tucson, United States Jun 5, 2008 Positive Craig and Kasey are excellent hosts and very cool people with a lot of travel experience and worldly knowledge. They have an awesome puppy who is suspiciously clean. Jon and I had a blast in San Antonio. Craig introduced us to the town of New Braunfels which is kinda like a real world Disneyland where you get to play in the river and drink a shitton of beer while floating on a tube. Next time we will bring a credit card in a ziplock baggie so we can get shots at the bar halfway down the river.
From Emily Tang Jamesburg, United States Jun 29, 2007 Positive craig is awweesooomme! how come more people can't be like him?? craig is so warm, friendly, and fun! he willingly gives his time and energy to make sure someone else is having a good time. i'd trust craig more than many of my own friends...that says a lot especially since we've only met once or twice but when you find great people, sometimes you just know... and with craig, i definitely know.
From Kasey Mire College Station, United States Mar 23, 2007 Positive Craig is an open, extremely friendly person who loves to show people a good time. He is dependable and trustworthy, and he tells great stories. I would trust him with my life.
From LivingIrie Dallas, United States Nov 27, 2006 Positive Incredible dude. Craig first introduced me to couch surfing. Loves splunking as much if not more than I. Lots of fun to go out on the town and party with. Overall great guy with an passion for traveling and finding cool people to chill with.
From Mary Ellen Childers Auckland, New Zealand Sep 18, 2006 very groovy cat, he is fun, seeks adventures, and I often find that when Craig is near so are the good times.
From Cory Oberlin Asheville, United States Jul 19, 2006 Craig the Superguy. Craig both hosted myself and a travel partner, but he also helped me out with my environmenta action at his school. He is generous, fun, kind, and generally a good soul. |
