Couch Information
Couch Available: Maybe Preferred Gender: Any No smoking allowed Has children: No Can host children: No Has pets: No Can host pets: No Max Surfers Per Night: 1
Shared Sleeping Surface: No Shared Room: YesBest to have your sleeping bag. For the moment I can offer a rather big and comfortable inflatable mattress, and an additional small one person mattress I can host you at my humble little one room flat.
I am not interested in hosting a group of people who solely come sightseeing Brussels for a week end via cheap flights.
I prefer to host people who feel some good vibe can be shared.
For the moment I can offer a rather big ( 2 persons ) and relatively comfortable inflatable mattress. There is a small kitchen in the room, and a very small separate bathroom with a shower, but without door. It is quite well located, next to a underground station, and not far from the train station. It is in the hart of a lively neighborhood called "Saint-Gilles". There is a supermarket on the corner, and plenty of lively cafes around. I prefer to host in priority hitch hikers, wanderers, altruists, digital nomads and artists, people passionate about creating new realities, and people looking for last minute solutions. I am less interested in hosting mainstream "tourists" that would only be interested in sightseeing, or people coming to Brussels to search for mainstream jobs( unless its short term, and for an interview that is already set ). I do not have a 9 to 5 job, and have a very flexible lifestyle. Friends (106)

" Nomads chose to be nomads because they want to be free. Free to go their ways. It is this freedom that the sedentary man lost. The sedentary is free to own land, nomads have the whole world.
When freedom is achieved -and is it never completely achieved- it becomes a strength. Freedom generates identity and creativity. Freedom is firstly the freedom of inventing oneself.
Nomads want to be free to explore the multidimensionality of reality. They will fight until death not to be imprisoned in a unidirectional structure where movements are predetermined. "

did not exactly read Jack , but this extract picked up on the net resonnates...
" … I see a vision of a great rucksack revolution thousands or even millions of young (Americans) wandering around with rucksacks, going up to mountains to pray, making children laugh and old men glad, making young girls happy and old girls happier, all of ‘em Zen Lunatics who go about writing poems that happen to appear in their heads for no reason and also by being kind and also by strange unexpected acts keep giving visions of eternal freedom to everybody and to all living creatures.

I tend to get along with hitch hikers.

I like the fact that the community expanded, yet feel sorry , many years ago, that the software code has not been opened, and feel sorry about the focus on forms of hierarchy within the volunteer networks tracing back from the Eisenstadt Austria Collective, followed a few years later with what I perceive as the current for monetary profit corporatization of the organization.Locations TraveledTRAVELED: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland (Republic of), Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia-FYROM, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine LIVED: Malaysia WANTS TO GO: Argentina, Australia, Belarus, Canada, China, Iceland, Moldova, Russia, South Africa
What do these numbers mean?
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you. References (69)68Positive 1Neutral 0Negative

From Shenna Sanchez Brussels, Belgium May 10 Positive I've randomly met Dante in one event that was organised by a common org of ours. And voila there's an instant click, he's soft-spoken and full of inner peace yet he has these alternative, progressive ideas on how the world could be a better and more equitable place to live in. We could have went on and on about our lives having more sense & meaning without money but then I have to work for the seminar ^_^ We randomly meet again from time to time and suddenly have discourse on cooperative community housing or anything else. May the odds be with you, Dante! Fight the power!
From Janina Arsenjeva Brussels, Belgium Apr 22 Positive He patiently tried to explain me in simple words that the world is in debt and that ain't going to change. Can't say I understood much but I'm happy to give it another try! Plus, any friend of the Urban Ecology Centre is my friend! :-)
From Bine St. Berlin, Germany Jan 2 Positive I share your altruistic ideas and your passion for life and love. Lets drink a philosphical hot chocolate!
From Patchanittha S. Bangkok, Thailand Jun 2, 2011 Positive After I sent a couch request, Dante accepted me almost immediately. He's a kind-heart, knowledgable, and polite person. He showed me almost every part of Brussels in half of the day! He's very informative and has a good energy. Thank you (again) for all your help Dante :)
From outeragent Elsene - Ixelles, Belgium May 19, 2011 Positive Very open, kind, attentive, willing to share a human experience. Laid back, tolerent
From Zazzamitica Brussels, Belgium Mar 21, 2011 Positive Peaceful guy, eager to live life at 100%.
He likes to meet new people during his strolls in the city, that's how we met.
A non conventional approach to life, everyone should meet a Dante at least once on their path.
From Ana Breda Porto, Portugal Feb 10, 2011 Positive I haven't met Dante yet, but I want to express my gratitude for all the info and help he has been providing me with. I will soon moove to Brussels and Dante has already given me so many advice. Dante is a living proof of how wonderful people can be and how happiness can easily be spread through kindness. Thank you Dante, hope to thank you in person soon :)
