Personal Description

I read often. love my longboard. enjoy reading random articles on the internet. i like random information. i roam the city streets often, usually going to various spots to hang. i like tea and baseball. animals are cool too.

i enjoy people, basically anyone. i can talk about anything.

I studied economics and environmental studies at boston college, and am currently studying applied mathematics at stony brook university. I try to live life without regrets, and try to learn from mistakes to be wiser in the future.

I want to visit Marionville missouri because I am obsessed with squirrels...

Oh, and I dance on tables.


How I Participate in CS

I hosted out of my dorm room as much as I could. I plan to use the group meetings much more, where ever I am. I cs-ed on my spring break road trip through the east coast a few months ago. i surfed in portland and seattle, and brought back interesting stories of my day's findings to my hosts. for example, i returned to victoria with my collection of omens and news that i will head to alaska (After hawaii, obviously). I see much more travel in the future, and I see much more couchsurfing with it.

CouchSurfing Experience

Inspired by my first couchsurfer- Suhas.

In asheville, Pat hosted 3 groups... one of the nights, 9 people crashed there. It was a great time.

Lots of fun when Hannah visited from TN. Well, it was st. patty's day week, so obviously. Oh, and then brendan reilly attempted to kill me via Matte tradition. hmm...

Interests

longboarding, music, beaches, green development, smart growth, urban reform, guitar, movies, having fun, tea, exploring, wandering, wildlife, christmas lights, popped corn, economics, environmental issues, laughing, long conversations about anything, politics, philosophy, late nights, long walks, putting my feet in the sand, reading, learning.

Philosophy

Nothing in the past can be changed, so there's no sense in thinking too hard about it. Just learn and move forward. I have to be smart and trust my instincts.

I would say regarding life, it has a Sartrean spin to it. I feel that you are only what you make yourself. If you are unhappy with something, do what is necessary to change it. There are way too many amazing things to see and places to go, people to meet, books to read, foods to eat, beaches that must be danced on in the moonlight... for someone to be unhappy.

Teach, Learn, Share

stories, laughs, guitar, fireballs. I make mean pancakes. I can show you a magic trick or two. I think I am amazing at rock-paper-scissors, so we can try that out. im a professional at crepes as well.

Im sure I have some talent. Couchsurfing put me on the spot, and I blacked out and couldn't come up with anything. Damn! the sun was in my eyes, my goldfish died, the planets weren't aligned correctly.

So, I hope you haven't left yet, Darryl, bc you were basically my bff the week before I left to travel in Japan. This guy can shoe shop with the best of 'em, and can I just tell you he is a blast on the beach! Anyone who can turn a palm root, calcified coral chunks, and imagination into 3 hours of childhood-like fun is always a good time. What can I say, man, we chilled good and hard and if you've left I will be heartily sad. Darryl is a good dude with good karma coming his way... Miss ya!

Daryl is awesome. He has the biggest heart and is open and welcoming to everyone he meets. He may ask for repeated back rubs/scratches, but he makes up for it by giving complimentary head massages/brushing your hair.

Daryl is a great guy! He was a totally considerate guest. Very independent and took to walking the streets of Seattle by himself and brought back funny/interesting stories to tell. We also watched the Karate Kid! The FIRST one! The GOOD one! :D

We had a blast staying with Daryl and his roommates. They gave up their beds for us and showed us around Boston and had an amazing singalong with us....they're fantastic. I wish we'd gotten to spend more time hanging out with them. Just watch out for their toilets...

Daryl was too much fun to have come stay. The party turned from 3 guys to 5, but the more the marrier! Everyone was fun to hang out with, and were even nice enough to fold up all my blankets and do my dishes before they left!!! I'd let Daryl and company come stay again any time!!!

Daryl hosted us for a few days when my roommate and I took a road trip to Boston. We had such a great time traveling on the bus and subway and eating dinner together. He let us borrow a Charlie card for our city travels, and was extremely hospitable. He's also very Australian-friendly.

Daryl and his roomates put up MY roomate and I (Dan) when we took a short road trip from New York to Boston. They were gracious enough to lend us their couch/cot, their dorm atmosphere (gotta love college!), their Charilie cards (to get around), their expertise and advice on where to eat in Cambridge (try Wagamama) and their excellent taste in documentaries (sorry I fell asleep)! Thanks SO much guys! You are the coolest!

It was really great. They are all nice and open minded and we immediately felt at home with them. Now we are in New York, and we miss them:).

I had a ton of fun staying with Daryl and his roomies! They are such sweet people who went out of their way to entertain us even though we visited during finals weeks. daryl is an awesome guy and would be a great choice to surf with or have over. he 's great to talk to and chill with, and hes down for almost anything. he fancies himself a guitarist/editor/entreprenuer/pseudo-hippy/rapper/scholar and you can add more or take some off the list depending on when you meet him, but hes always cooking up something fun and crazy.

Staying with Daryl was my first couchsurfing experience. I had an absolutely awesome time with him.
He is extremely friendly and it's been great going out with Daryl and meeting his friends.
We've become good friends now and have been regularly catching up while i've been in Boston.
