CS2 rocks. It's my life partner. Right now I'm not bringing much to the relationship, because I'm moving houses. Moving is not fun, just so you know.
CouchSurfing Experience
I don't know what to type in this little box. Poetry, no doubt:
Australia, yacht and hob-nobbing with a small cavalry of lawyers, a bioengineer and a chemist for a major petroleum company.
If I were a character in a movie, I wouldn't
do these things.
Which is why CS rocks my face off.
In New Zealand I surfed a cop's couch, and a bunch of students, dressed like a Highlander and had newspaper-sword-fights with the Imperial Russian Army in the park. I chased
sunsets and drank box wine on the beach with Collective folk
and ate baby wasps on ice cream.
Bravado. As the Irish would say, it was
good crack.
Interests
Co-ops, vegetarian food, living with the earth, backpacking, philosophy, DIY, zen buddhism, drunken zen buddhists, non-hierarchical everything, strong coffee and new things
Philosophy
If my personal philosophy fit in this little box, it would be: Live because you will die; dismantle violence, create joy.
Music, Movies, Books
I just read White Noise (don dillilo) and it's awesome. I dig the Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy "trilogy", lately some Virginia Woolf and Neitzsche. Can't make up my mind about him; think it's a good thing.
Types of People I enjoy
I like people. I like people who don't agree with me; I like people who do agree with me; I like people who are bigger than they are and make the room bright; I like people who whisper things over tea cups that make you wonder.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can cook and I love cooking. I facilitated consensus meetings nearly weekly for a couple years. I have a steady camera hand and some basic editing/filming. I can train dogs (unless they're adamantly feral). I screenprint. I'll be learning to sail shortly and would love to learn more.
One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done
I hiked the Kalalau trail in Hawaii. I almost died at one point. I could feel my eyes dialating. My life flashed before my eyes and I thought, "Who knew you could feel your eyes dialating?"
Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org Project
I think all of industrial capitalism culminates in the internet, and now that we have the capacity to create human projects like couchsurfing.com, we can abandon the remnants of industrial capitalism and get on with it.
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.

I, unfortunately, have only gotten to interact with Digs for a few brief moments, but even with that, I can confidently say that she is an extremely open, heartfelt, and accommodating person, who I wish nothing but the best for. I really hope we get the chance to get to know eachother more at some point.
We've known each other for a long time and are good friends.

Dinae is amazing. She's ridiculously enthusiastic and a great magnet for fun. Even if whatever you're going to do with her sounds boring, it won't be.

Digs is one of the kindest, most interesting, and generally good people I've been lucky enough to know. She's one of my closest friends, and well, she's pretty great. I can't think of single day spent that wasn't full of laughter and good conversation.

I knew digs by another name, but her excellence is transverbal. She hosted me last-minute, showed me around town, and immediately treated me as a good friend. Also she put up with my various shenanigans without losing a smile. A perfect host and a person of great goodly excellence.
She was a fun person to work with in the office so many years ago. She's very intelligent, involved and personable. Generally awesome person!

You know how sometimes the sun shines brighter, colors are more electric and you find it hard to keep the corners of your mouth from turning upward? I feel that way after every single interaction with Digs.
