About Me

I am very laid back and easy going. I also enjoy getting as many diverse and new experiences as I can. I am an engineer at heart but have been told I still have a personality =).

Honestly other then that I think my references speak better then I ever could.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined in order to meet new people and see the local perspective. When I travel I want to see some of the places you don’t find in the tourist trap areas. I have also enjoyed showing people the same when they come surf my city.

I was an ambassador and active in several groups. Basically what this means to me is that I use almost every facet of CS and am here to help answer questions. If you want to know anything about CS, travelling in general, a location, or anything let me know.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a hard time getting started because I only knew 1 person on cs. I also could not go to local events because I was traveling almost all the time at that point. This meant I could not get references and therefore could not get a host but could not get a host to get any references. I ended up starting by doing group events in the places I was visiting. Shortly after that I had a chance to (ironically) travel with the local csers to an invasion. So my first official surfing experience was with the local crew that I had never met in a different city. I have since done even more events in the cities I have been traveling to having a blast along the way. I have also been able to surf a few more times, host, and met up with the local crew actually at home. I also try to be involved in the groups and see what is going on to meet people as I travel.

I have had a chance to surf, host, and travel with some awesome people. I have also done several group events including invasions, dinners/pot lucks, to ski trips, mixers/parties, Tentsurf/camping, bike tours, naked parties, regular parties, dumpster diving to anything that is going on while I am visiting an area. I am looking forward to more traveling, meeting new people, and getting to see new sides of old places. I have had the chance to surf with people more then once, travel with people that have hosted me in other states, and travel with people I have hosted from other countries. I have even had the chance to surf, host, and travel with the some of the same people. I have had the chance to get people together for some local events and help put together meetups including invasion events. I am also a moderator for some groups and an ambassador. I am trying to keep local suggestions and things to do posted to help people in their travels an answer questions when I can.

I have so many experiences with CS and each one is amazing. My references expand on them but bottom line I have a list of experiences that there is no way I would ever have if not for the people I have met through surfing.

Interests

Reading, plays, museums, aquariums, music, art, traveling, outdoors, canoeing, hiking, biking, skiing (water and snow), scuba diving, cooking, gardening, animals, movies, tabletop games, video games, electronics, playing most sports, trying new things, meeting new people, going new places, and hundreds of other things. Music, Movies, and Books

Almost any music from classical to rock. Books and movies lean toward sci-fi and fantasy. I read technical manuals ect in work so when I read for fun I like it to be as far from the truth as possible. The more complex the better. I really like things that have many background interactions and you really have to pay attention to see the full picture.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This one could be kinda long. Random things tend to happen around me. It is neither good nor bad just unlikely and normally interesting.

Look at my reference list. Each one is something amazing and there are some great times and wonderful trips.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always up for learning. Tell me about your passions. As far as teaching anything in the geek arena is probably fair game. Other then that I love to talk about past experiences, common interests, travels etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have traveled quite a bit especially in the US and am always up for swapping stories about travel or anything that I do.
