About Me

I'm a fun, hard-working and open-minded guy. I work at an Internet startup, meaning that I work a lot. I just moved back to Menlo Park to be with my fiance, after growing up just the next town over (Palo Alto).

I live with my fiance/wife (married in in Sep 2016), Courtenay. For safety reasons, she doesn't want guys from Couchsurfing in the house when I'm not around, so at this time we're really only open to hosting women. Might make an exception for a guy with a lot of positive reviews.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After graduation from university, I spent more than three months backpacking from Israel to London, and everywhere in between. Couchsurfing -- whether I used this site or distant friends or relatives -- was an essential part of my travels.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Ryan Adams, Josh Ritter, John Mayer, Explosions in the Sky, Sigur Ros, Matt Nathanson, Jack's Mannequin, Stars. I also have a slightly-hidden thing for jazz (Miles Davis, Wynton Marsalis).

Movies. There's a lot of stuff. Children of Men was fantastic. Rounders I could watch 20 times and not get tired of (in fact, I think I have). I'm a huge Arrested Development and Lost fan. High Noon is a classic. But I also can watch the history channel for hours on end (who can't?).

I read books in spurts (usually when I'm on break from school). My favorites are 1984, The Power Broker, A Thousand Splendid Suns, A Prayer for the City, Fahrenheit 451, Goosebumps.

There's tons more, but that's what comes to mind.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swam in Lake Annecy, France — one of the most beautiful places in the world — during the middle of a thunderstorm.
