Couch Information
Couch Available: Yes Preferred Gender: Any
Wheelchair Accessible: Yes
Max Surfers Per Night: 3
Shared Sleeping Surface: No Shared Room: YesThere are two rooms and separate kitchen and bathroom with toilet in the flat. Living room is for guests, so If there is more then one, you might share the room. Quite recently moved into a flat in Warsaw district called Kabaty. It's quite far from the city center, but transportation is convenient. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the Kabaty subway station, and then in 30 minutes you are right in the city center. Warsaw subway is a nice thing, only one line though.
The couch is Ikea Manstadt - really comfortable bed for 2 people. I also have inflatable matress, so if you ok with squat-like conditions, 3 people can squeeze in the living room. Flat is 48m2, so not to big.
No pets, no smoking, but traveling spirits and stories more than welcome!
I travel a quite lot for work (I'm ski and scuba instructor) so my life is not that organised and I'm often out of town.
If I have time i can show you around, but can't promise that. I'm more into idependent travellers, so you can sleep here and do whatever you like - if I'm not busy I'll help you, if I'm, it will be just like hostel, except you don't have to pay. The fridge is often empty, so don't count on this one to much. Still, tea and coffe are always in.
I have some sleeping bags, loundry machine, warsaw map, Poland lonely planet guide etc. 4 days is probably too much, but you never know...
I'm perfectly ok with short notice, as long as I'm here Friends (21)

Personal DescriptionI'm open and friendly person, unfortunatelly often quite busy. I study sociology and I teach people to ski in the winter and to dive during the summer. Have to make a living, why not that way?. I hate staying in one place too long, and so I try not to :) Right now I've finished one year long round-the-world trip and I'm struggling with finishing Uni. Need to write me thesis on tourist guidebooks and I'm done
CouchSurfing ExperienceI couchsurfed in South America, New Zealand and China during my round the world trip. Hopefully it is just the biginning!InterestsTraveling

sleeping alone in the wild area of the great wall of china, traveling the world with a little teddy bear in my pocket, swiming drunk and naked in Mexican Bay, riding an elephant, watching sun rise in Tikal-Guatemala, teach 4 years' old how to ski, free dive with dolphins in the wild, exploring ship wrecks in Philippines, eating with homeless kids in Manila, playing gigolo in south east asia, being backstage of ping-pong show in Bangkok, trekking alone in Torres del paine, racing with horses in Patagonia, Swiming in glaciar lakes, diving under ice...

From Anna-Maria Fernandes Melbourne, Australia Mar 17, 2009 Positive Aaaahhh... who's my daddy???
Franek is a kick arse guy! Perfect in many ways. Hilarious, active, energetic, and crazy combined with serious, dedicated, intelligent and composed. He's a hopeless drinking companion, but he makes up for it with his funny antics. Love him to pieces, admire him, and think the world of him. Top bloke this one. He's defo a good egg!
From Kent Nygaard Skjern, Denmark Nov 28, 2008 Positive Franek is the most adventorous polish guy I ever met. He has a great humor and is very talkative. I think one of the only thing that can make him quiet is 6 Long Island Iceteas - but then he also becomes very quiet! :)
From Jennifer Rogers Madrid, Spain Sep 25, 2008 Positive Franek was a great couchsurfer, easy going and had plenty of stories to make us forget we weren't the ones traveling! We will be seeing him again in Warsaw ;)
From Sara Rademaker Utrecht, Netherlands Sep 24, 2008 Positive We met while travelling in the Philippines & dived together a couple of times. Franek has a great sense of humor, takes a lot of photographs, and has interesting and original worldviews!
From Aga W Warsaw, Poland Jun 16, 2008 Positive I haven't had so much fun for a long time! Franek surfed my couch only for two days so we had to do a crush course of Beijing. Thoroughly enjoyable experience! See you in Warsaw! :-)
From MORGANE94 Yiwu, China Jun 16, 2008 Positive Franek is a really nice guy, he makes good imitation...i know you dont want me to call you like this but, in my mind you'll be forever the Borat of poland! enjoy the rest of your trip, and hope to see you somewhere in the futur!
From Lea Witkowski New Orleans, United States Jun 12, 2008 Positive Great guy! He told me all about my Polish family name. He brought me a bottle of much-appreciated wine. He volunteered to sleep on the floor when the apt became a little crowded with cs'ers. Generally a good time. Make sure you keep him well-fed though...you'll never hear the end of his hunger pangs ;)
From Benson Harris Wallace Pudong, China Jun 6, 2008 Positive After having Franek over, I'm now making a point of not leaving Chinese spirits in the house when Couchsurfers from Eastern Europe come to stay! But the hangover was definitely worth it. You'll have good times with Franek, and he has a very good "Couchsurfer's 6th sense"
From JILL CARRIE Asheville, United States May 22, 2008 Positive What to say about my brilliant travelmate, who I met at a hostel and with whom, a few hours later, I was on a weeklong roadtrip of a lifetime through New Zealand? Armed with inspiring tales and hilarious storytelling, you can expect intellectual conversation and constant entertainment. Amazing guy.
From Julio Daniel Prague, Czech Republic May 21, 2008 Positive Frank is a great guy with a great sense of humor. He was very easy going and got along well with everybody. He also brought us a magical bottle of vodka from Poland, I defitely recomend him to couch around.
From Amanda Larason Christchurch, New Zealand May 18, 2008 Positive Hosting Franek and his mates was very quick and easy. They arrived long after dark and left before noon, but over breakfast their interesting travel stories and Franeks brilliant sense of humor were shared. If I ever get a chance would love to hear his full travel story. I understand why polish TV did a piece on his travels! Id watch it!
From Andy Jamieson Edinburgh, United Kingdom May 17, 2008 Positive great guy we danced, walked, talked and partied, polish vodka is allways fun!!
From Veronica Arrieta Byron Bay, Australia May 5, 2008 Positive Is a extremely nice guy, easy going, that can feel confortable anywere. Definitly he wont make any problem. Really friendly, a pleasure to be with. Enjoy your travels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From Denise and John North Shore, New Zealand May 4, 2008 Positive A perfect guest. Independent, friendly with a good sense of humour. Fitted in really well. Nice guy. Will always be welcome back.
From Niels Leenders Nijmegen, Netherlands Feb 9, 2008 Positive Frantic Franek is great company to travel with! His ideas about love are both inspiring and lunatico .. travel w/ him for a while or offer this sympathic Polish guy a place to sleep. You won't regret ...
From New Horizons Denver, United States Feb 1, 2008 Positive Franek is a very open and friendly guy who enjoys lots of activities and inviting others to join in. You should definitely look out for him on his (and your) travels!
From Kamila and Tomek Fiedorowicz Warsaw, Poland Jul 22, 2007 Positive This quy has the good vibe! Great to spend time with, be prepared for surprises - he is very creative. Responsible.
From Zuzanna Nitecka Madrid, Spain Jun 14, 2007 Positive I met Franek through a good friend of mine and we keep in touch since then, and we even chat from time to time. He's a very friendly and trustworthy person, and I'd recommend him as a host and as a guest to anybody! |
