Personal Description
I love travelling. If I could, I would emigrate to Australia straight away but have a steady job at a Geman school with fantastic students and great colleagues that I would never want to miss!
Made it to Holland already, though, crossing a border every morning....:)
Since my stay in Australia in 2004/2005, I have been travelling a lot, mostly by myself, using greyhound buses, backpacker tours and trains.
I love to get in contact with new people and thus made friends all over the world.
Since July 2007, I live together with Rob in a small house. We have a white rabbit that behaves like a dog, if that does not bother you, you are welcome to drop by...
I have many more pictures of myself travelling that I can email you, I just want to keep them rather private, being a teacher....
How I Participate in CS
I would love to show people around in Enschede. I am really busy with school, as English and German are subjects with a lot of preparation and correction work.
CouchSurfing Experience
Me and Rob went to Ireland in 2008 and couchsurfed around the entire island, it was amazing how many different and absolutely lovely people you meet!
Its true, you never know what you get, but our overal experiences were just mindblowing and fantastic.
In 2010, I travelled back to my emotional home country of Australia and couchsurfed with Leesa in Hobart/Tasmania. We are close friends still today and she has been here to visit.
Also in 2010, I travelled to NYC with a friend, I stayed with wonderful couchsurfers and, in contrast to my first "touristy" NYC trip, I actually got to know the city!
In 2011, me and Rob travelled around Denmark couchsurfing, which was amazing, we learned, saw and all in all experienced so much we would never have without our lovely hosts!!!!
Interests
I love talking, thats why I am a teacher, but I also know when to stop. I love life, adventures, but also the quiet moments, everything, even my job, especially to work with students and help them grow up!
Philosophy
"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams!" (Henry David Thoreau)
“Love doesn't make the world go 'round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.” (Franklin P. Jones)
“Never underestimate a child's ability to get into more trouble.” (Martin Mull)
Music, Movies, Books
Independent music, love guitar music, alternative, but open to every sort of arty sounds that cross my way.
Being a German and English teacher I dont get to read proper books that much anymore because I read most of the day preparing or teaching....
Types of People I enjoy
Funny, open minded and individual people. Someone who I will remember for being "different" from the crowd.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach German, Dutch or English. That is my profession. I can play games, play the piano, do poi dancing (learned that in Australia), am quite a good story teller and good for a laugh.
Would like to be taught about different cultures and religions. I just want to get to know everything I dont know yet, so there is quite a range....
One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done
Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Bahrain, Dubai, most of Europe, Malta, Iceland, US and Canada
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.
Franzi is a new friend of mine, we meet regularly. She's really sweet and super funny (don't think she realizes that half of the time though lol!) I can get along with her well because she's modern and open minded and likes to invite me to concerts, pub quizes and footbal matches all the time which is soo sweet! :) See you soon Franzii! Xxx
Franzi and Rob are such great people. Really open and talkative. It was lovely getting to know you guys:-) I love your way of travelling and getting off the beaten track.. I hope you make it all the way to Skagen:-) otherwise you will have to come back and visit again. You are always welcome in Denmark or Australia or whereever we are in the world:-D
Franzi and Rob are a lovely, openminded and easygoing couple. They are trustworthy, interesting and they have so many stories to share from their experinces in travelling. They are what CS is about, so host them if you can.
Franzi and Rob will be welcomed into my home anytime. Happy travels and thank you for giving me such a good first experince as a host.
Franzi and her friend stayed at our place on their superfast tour of Iceland. We sat and talked and talked, learned and laughed a lot! Very enjoyable! Hope we meet again :-)
Franzi and her colleague Berit were exemplary guests to have as our first couchsurfing experience; genuinely friendly and full of positive energy with an adventurous spirit! They were also considerate and tidy, so everything worked very smoothly as room mates during their stay. We soon became friends; sharing intriguing conversation as well as time spent walking around parts of the city. We're very glad to have met them! I'm sure we will stay in touch. Franzi and Berit will be welcome visitors in our home anytime!

Positive
It was a pleasure hosting Franzi and Limm in NYC! It was great sharing teaching stories and realizing that teachers all over the world face many of the same challenges. They were wonderful guests, very easy to host - I wish them luck wherever life takes them in this world, and hope to see them again sometime!
Wow!!! What a time we had with Franzi and Rob!!! It was a quick visit but soooo amazing. Franzi had prepared the most amazing foods for us... Yummmm! We explored the local surroundings of Franzi's home, Rob's parents farm, Ikea...(my first time) and spent the most Fabulous day at Franzi's school meeting and speaking with the students. So wish we could have stayed longer. Hopefully we will see you again soon. :) x

Franzi is a lovely girl. It was so lovely to have her stay at our place. She fitted in just like one of the family. She is a very bright and happy person. Very enthusiastic about Australian Culture. My whole family enjoyed Franzi staying with us. Thank you again for the German phrase book. I will study up and when we meet again I will show you what a good student I am. Love to you Franzi 'bis wir uns wiedersehen'
Thanks for looking after us in Holland Franzi. It was so lovely to see you again and you are a fantastic cook! Still waiting for you apple cake recipe!
You live in a beautiful little town and Rob is gorgeous! It was fun to come to your school. Hope the kids liked it too.
Bunny is cute but I think i will stay clear of bunnies in the future! Love to you xxx
Meeting Franzi has reminded me that when we 'take a chance', great things can happen. It pays to believe in the goodness of strangers.
Franzi - What a great 'find'. Lovely, honest, professional person.
Our professional connection may lead to future benefits for many Australian and German teenagers! What a thrill.
Franzik seems to be a wonderful person who I hope I will meet her personally someday! I would definitely host her and highly recommend her. See u someday!
