I'm not hosting people who arrive in Bremen late in the evening in order to catch a plane the next day. I want to be able to spend some time with you.
I'm living with my girlfriend Daiga (http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/daigas/) in a two room flat very central in the city.
The couch is a convertible couch in our living room, which allows to sleep 2 persons, some additional inflatable mattresses and of course there is plenty of room on the floor if you bring your own mattress and sleeping bag.
If possible, please do bring your own sleeping bag, but if this is absolutely not possible, we also have some additional blankets we can give to you.
The flat is generally non-smoking, but you can smoke easily in front of the flat door.
Public transport is quite close by, in fact you can walk to the main station within 15 minutes, but closer tram stops are available (1-2 minutes walk, depending how fast you are)
During the week I'm working and Daiga is studying, so we won't have the time to show you around too much, but still can give you hints where to go. On weekends feel free to ask us for showing you Bremen a bit.
If you want to stay longer than 3 days, we need to discuss that (still possible though).

*** On every 14th and on the last friday of the month there is a regular table in Bremen. Check the Bremen group for Details. ***
Usually I am a rather quiet guy, who loves to have a good chat and good food, but I am still open to any good party going on. My references will give you a rough idea...
If you want to get into contact with me, you can use my mobile number: +49 176 40111371, but please keep in mind that I'm accepting couch requests only via CS-Message (I'd like to see at least the profile first before I agree to host someone)
I used to organize meetings here in Bremen and in fact have brought the CS community here to life. I used to be a country amb for Germany for a while, but stopped that for now because of time constraints. I'm still organizing bigger meetings for the CS community, the last one beeing the German CS Open Space in Munich, the next one will be a European Open Space, most probably in May 2011.
CouchSurfing Experience
Loads.
Interests
Interested in anything interesting ;)
Some of my more special fields of interest are modern literature, modern art, playing backgammon, history, religion and making music (I love to sing and sometimes I play the saxophone), and of course eating and cooking delicious food. My kitchen is the place I spend most of my time in.
Music, Movies, Books
Great Movies:
* All the stuff made by Kieslowsky, Lynch or Kubrick - they are true masters.
* Even some of the Wim Wenders films are enjoyable
Great Books:
* Haruki Murakami: Norwegian Wood
* Nick Hornby: How to be good
* Cornelia Funke: The Tintenherz-stories
* the comics made by Art Spiegelmann and Joe Sacco
* and all that stuff by Jonathan Franzen, Paul Auster, Douglas Coupland, Peter Stamm
Great Music:
* Minor Majority
* Radiohead
* The Notwist
* Charlie Parker
* and everything else which is really original
Types of People I enjoy
People that have a story to tell are the most interesting.
Teach, Learn, Share
I guess I can teach some basics about playing backgammon, and also a (little) bit about saxophones and jazz improvisation.
One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done

Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org Project
Don't let the CS politics get into your way when enjoying this great community. I met many people here, some of them became very good friends by now.
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.
Thank you Thomas! Thank you Daiga!
We very enjoy staying with you and meeting you both. It was very nice time to talk with you, walk around the city and visit the Freimarkt. also we very like some traditions meals, preparing by Thomas. You a very nice! Good luck!
We had really nice time with Thomas and Daiga. And also nice time going through Bremen by bicycles (they kindly offered to us theirs). The evening cooking 4 meals with 10 people was fun! Thank you for your caring friends and hope to see you again! Greetings from Haugesund!
Thank you, Thomas, for hosting me at the beginning of my traveling and at the end, also.
It is great pleasure to me you and Daiga in this boutique city--Bremen.
Yvonne
Thomas brought lots of beautiful music, good-humor and very nice gifts from Bremen :)
Listening to his stories and talking with him on many issues was great, I learned many new things about couchsurfing from him, and found much food for thought about ways one can contribute to this great project.
Thanks again for your nice visit, and for the lovely film and book recommendations...
Hope to see you again, spend more time together and talk much more :) - of course with good food in between!
after meeting several times on several meetings/occasions I finally could host him :) He was a nice, easy-to-handle, interesting and interested guest (did I mention I'm bad in writing references *g*). So well, I'll have a look for Ryanair flights from Bremen - and connect this with a night in Bremen - hosted by you :)
Thomas left us a huge hilarity which is just a little part of his good spirit. He is such cheerful and talkative that there is no possibility to not spend a good time with Thomas. I am really happy to gain such a nice friend.. I wish to meet him again somewhere in the world :)
My first CS host Thomas! A nice guy with whom you can have a great chat. Thanks for offering to have a bath in your place it was the best I took in ages!
