Languages Groups I Belong To Salt Lake City, Utah 1583:7899 Why: I am joining because I feel that CS is gaining importance and bringing people around the world together. It is most critical now as our political leaders are trying to pull us apart. This is one form of social activism.

Couch Information
Couch Available: Maybe Preferred Gender: Any No smoking allowed Has children: No Can host children: No Has pets: No Can host pets: No Max Surfers Per Night: 2
Shared Sleeping Surface: Depends Shared Room: DependsI only allow two surfers at one time in which case they would share a bed. I would not ask two strangers to sleep together and the only way two people would share a bed is if they surfed together. The bed is a full and is in it's own room with some of our less-used belongings(ie. massage table, sewing machine, hanging bikes...) It is very comfortable and clean! Full size mattress in the spare bedroom. It is also a sort of storage for all our outdoor gear but is still clean and comfortable. Friends (8)

Personal DescriptionI am a pisces and love to ride my bike. I am most likely the only person that rides a scooter year round (even at -4 degrees). I love to play the didgeridoo, camp, hike, and hang out at the cabin. I love to learn as well as teach. I love to cook for friends and family whenever I can. I also like to paint, throw pottery, and work in my garden. There is nothing like eating the veggies that you grow yourself. GO ORGANIC!!! I also enjoy volunteering with several local non-profit organizations. How I Participate in CSI have hosted a few times now and all have been great with the exception of one messy person. Surfing, however, has been amazing every time. What a great way to get to know the areas I have visited. CouchSurfing ExperienceCouch Surfing is a concept that has influenced my life for the better. It has brought me friends and many many good times. I enjoy hosting and surfing equally as they have both been welcomed experiences! Long live CS!InterestsGenuinely good people.Philosophy" Take a little time for sunshine, take a whole lot of time for love. Take time to praise and thank heaven up above. Take your life, as it may come 'cause boy it'll be gone soon. Take a little time, for howlin' at the moon"
Sam Bush BandMusic, Movies, BooksI like books that teach you something. I am not a fan of fiction or science fiction. I love to read books by my friend Terry Tempest Williams. As far as music goes, I like my grass blue! Types of People I enjoyThose who have something to say. Not just anything, but real ideas and thoughts that you probably won't see or hear on television. People concerned about our environment, our impacts on it, and living a life of ethical actions. People that want to leave behind a legacy of love to those who will follow us when we are gone. Teach, Learn, ShareDid you know that you can build a house out of straw that is is as durable as other types of construction, for about 20% the cost?
One Amazing Thing I've Seen or DoneOne amazing thing I get to do; Every year I get to go to Moose, Wyoming to work as a private chef. That is great in itself but it gets better. I get to cook for a dozen or so people that are in the process of opening their eyes. They are taking a class call The Ecology of Residency from Terry Tempest Williams and guests. I was a student the first year the class was offered and am previliged to have been invited back every year since. Sometimes, life rewaeds you for being vulnerable and brutally honest with yourself and others. Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org ProjectI think this site will be a much needed resource. Not just for a couch, but for getting to know those kind folks around the world who have so much to share. My one reservation is not necessarily about the site but about my availability to be a host. However, it seems like people are generally understanding. Thank you guys for helping us all keep in touch.Locations TraveledTRAVELED: India, Ireland (Republic of) LIVED: United States WANTS TO GO: Iceland, Japan IS GOING TO: Costa Rica
What do these numbers mean?
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you. References (8)8Positive 0Neutral 0Negative

You are lucky if you can meet this fella. Seriously.
From Lauren Brown Salt Lake City, United States Nov 25, 2008 Positive Nicholas is one of my favorite people! He is always so warm, positive, friendly, and is a pleasure to be around.
From Landy Alger Salt Lake City, United States Nov 12, 2008 Positive Nick is a great guy and a great cook as well. Make sure you do dinner together. :)
From SABINé Melbourne, Australia Sep 1, 2008 Positive oh my gods Nicholas and Cerae are the BEST people in the world! hospitality at its most extreme! They made our SLC experience the most amazing warm and enjoyable. They are wonderful people, beautiful to the core. If you get to meet them you are very blessed.
From IRISHCALYPSO Waterford, Ireland (Republic of) Feb 4, 2008 Positive Nicholas & Cerea, it was great to meet you and hear the didgeridoo! It was very interesting chatting and swapping views, although time was short. I wish them all the best in the future.
From Cirrus Wood Fort Bragg, United States Nov 9, 2007 Positive Nicholas is good people. Case in point, for those of you familiar with Amtrak in Salt Lake, you'll know that the verdict on its overall quality generally averages out to a quotient of SUCK. Nicholas drove me to the station at 11:30 PM so I wouldn't have to walk or leave early on the bus for my early morning train to Chicago.
Pura vida, amigo,
~Michael
