My partner Ralf and I live in a quite large apartment located in town center - 5 min walk from central train station.
It's actually Ralf's couch - so couchsurfing is as much his project as it's mine and we always decide together if we're going to host.
My teenage daughter lives with us, my other daughter used to live with us on the weekends.
We haven't got any pets and don't smoke - you can smoke outside, if you must.
We have an extra couch plus airbed in an extra bedroom
It'd be best for you to bring sleeping bags, but in an emergency we can come up with blankets.
Fulda is a pretty historic town of 60,000, churches, museums, great availability of concerts for a small town, There is a nice mountainous area (Rhoen) nearby
It's not a tourist hot spot, but a nice place
Public transportation is available
If you're very lucky, we're free to show you around, most likely on weekends. We might be gone motorbiking though - if you're traveling with your bike (why shouldn't you!) we can show you some winding back roads.
Unfortunately I can't host in July and August at all, due to my work situation that gets busiest during those months.

Personal DescriptionI love talking, cooking, eating, and entertaining, but just as much am I fond of the outdoors, be it hiking, camping, motor bike riding...
I'll read anything I can get my hands on - but only if it proves interesting. Life's too short to finish a boring book.
I'm quite extroverted, and classify myself an overtalker rather than the opposite. Getting to know people and their cultural backgrounds is one of my great interests, and how could it be achieved better than by visiting and having a good long talk? How I Participate in CSCome and couch surf my couch! At the moment, I can't travel much, but I can invite the world homeCouchSurfing ExperienceSome of the greatest acquaintances I have met by chance - I can't imagine my life without striving to extend beyond my home horizons, even though I may not be able to physically leave them all the time InterestsMotor bike riding
Reading
Sports (running, biking, swimming, hiking)
Cooking, dining, entertaining
Music - I'm a guitar and sax amateur, but I have lots of musician friends to make up for my humble attempts
Intercultural communicationPhilosophyLife is short, so use your time wisely.
Travel with your eyes, ears and mind open. Get off the beaten path.
I value education very highly. Anyone should try and learn as much as they can. It has to be fun, though. No point in getting busy in analysis if you hate math (can't you tell I do).
Things done while you're having fun are going to be more sustainable.
Respect the environment - it's the only one we have, and the ones coming after us want some, too.
If everything else fails:
Music is a doctor!
Music, Movies, BooksI'm a long time lover of Star Trek. For me, it's not so much about science fiction as about the vision of an open minded society that has overcome greed, poverty, sickness, prejudices, and racism.
Music: Jazz, blues, rock, world music and classical
Books: Douglas Adams, Bill Bryson, Erich Kaestner are some of my favorite writersTypes of People I enjoyPeople who are open-minded and reflect on what they see, and they have a good - maybe whacky - sense of humor. They aren't thinking that they're too old/young/smart/dumb/tall/small to do or learn what they'd like. Teach, Learn, ShareI'm a GermanFL teacher, so you can learn some of the language from me if you like. Be prepared, though: there is no such thing as a rule without an exceptionOne Amazing Thing I've Seen or DoneHaving been an exchange student is still the most amazing experience for me. My host family opened up their home, hearts and limited resources to me so I could have an incomparable source of experiences that even extends into my daily life now. Anyone should step beyond their fears and concerns and go ahead and host!Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org ProjectI hope I'll be able to go couchsurfing more in the future, the idea is congenial! In the meantime, I hope more travelling people will couchsurf with me and get to know this pretty if small baroque town that cannot be found in most travel guide books but is special nonetheless.Locations TraveledTRAVELED: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, England, Estonia, France, Ireland (Republic of), Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States LIVED: Germany, United States WANTS TO GO: Croatia, Cuba, India, Jordan, Mexico, Spain, Taiwan
What do these numbers mean?
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you. References (12)12Positive 0Neutral 0Negative

From Nyam Purevdorj Tsetserleg, Mongolia Mar 5, 2011 Positive I spent only one night with them, but I felt extremly comfortable like at home in this short time. Its so easy and interesting to talk with them. ... about everything!
Gesa and Ralf are very intelligent, warm hearted, bright, open mind and easy going. thanks for everything!
hope to see you again!
From Nadia Leunig Sandy Point, Australia Apr 23, 2010 Positive Gesa and Ralf hosted us for 1 night and it was an evening full of conversation and laughter!
It was great to arrive after a day of bike riding and be welcomed in with a beer and homemade flammkuchen!!
I hope we see you in Australia. But don't come before November ;) We'll try and cook something deliciously Australian for you. I'll try to make some salad dressing as well as some kind of sauce for the vegies :)
From Mark Wallace Sandy Point, Australia Apr 23, 2010 Positive Gesa and Ralf are the type of people I was hoping to meet through Couch Surfing. They brought us in and had us relaxed within moments. A great night was spent with some home made flammkuchen and a few drinks. Their energy and enthusiasm about our travels and looking at our map brought back to me how lucky I am to be doing what I am, and how lucky I am to meet people like Gesa and Ralf. After just 1 night I felt re-energised and ready to ride another 4,000km. You'd bloody better be serious about visiting us when we get home.
Thanks, and seeya again.
From Mathias and Thomas Leipzig, Germany Aug 17, 2009 Positive Regarding our couchsurfing-newbie status we didnt know what to expect in Fulda and Gesa and Ralf surprised us with an amazing, pleasant hospitality and that outperformed completely our expectations. We recommend everyone to stop by to see what were talking about. Thanks again Gesa and Ralf (also for the beer and the delicious Tzatziki:-))If you ever should come to leipzig feel free to give us a call ;-)
From GEMINITEAM Berlin, Germany Jul 10, 2009 Positive Meeting Gesa and her family was an amazing Cs experience. She, Ralf and Jessica are one of the nicest families that I ever met. They are warm and friendly people and have a great sense of humor. Although you kept on saying that you were sorry because you didn´t have that much time, I felt very good with you guys and I love the timewe spent together! Thank you so much for everything and hope to see you in Berlin.
From FJANGDA London, England Nov 11, 2008 Positive I had a great time with Gesa's Family. They really invited me in their home. We had great philosiphical discussions and a great dinner together. Gesa is a great cook. :-)
From Rachel Sackin Cardiff, Wales Aug 5, 2008 Positive Gesa and her fabulous family provided Kyle and I with the best respite from cycling anyone could ask for. Their home radiates kindness, laughter (occasionally of the hysterical variety!) and warmth in a way that made me feel like part of the family. In fact, it was probably a good job that we had to keep moving, since there is a danger I might never have left! All the best, see you again in Germany/England/Wales or even Australia!
From GENESCREAM Adelaide, Australia Aug 3, 2008 Positive Gesa and family warmly welcomed me and made me feel a bit like a queen! We laughed and chatted and I was lucky to meet a musician colleague... we all had some fascinating conversations. It was fun to meet some adult students who are learning English too. I have great memories of my time there in Fulda! Hope to see you in Australia someday :)
From Kyle Archer Brisbane, Australia Jul 21, 2008 Positive Thanks so much to Gesa and family for hosting Rachel and myself on our much-needed (In our opinion) rest day from cycling. The apartment was amazing, as was the city and the various german board games! Shame the same can#t be said for the rice... :)
From Fiona Huang Taipei, Taiwan Jul 20, 2008 Positive It was absolutely my pleasure to be hosted by Gesa and Ralf. Though my traveling experience of those days is a big mess, spending time with them and staying in their luxury home(I like the large bathroom very much!) are the happiest things! Gesa, thank you for the best breakfast and spending time talking with me though you are busy. Thanks Ralf as well,he shared the photos of lovely Canadian bears. Missing Asfeld and Schlitz is really a great pity. I hope I will have a chance to visit them soon. Fulda is a lovely town not only because of the church but Gesa and Ralf. You are very welcome to Taiwan of course, I would also like to meet Jessica! Thank you so much!
