Personal DescriptionI'm from everywhere; a true citizen of the world (although I do only have one passport, but only till I stop somewhere long enough to change that).
I've been described as aloof (and based on the How To instructions, I'd say its an apt description). Other characteristics that define me are my quietness, perpetual smile, and ability to do the unexpected. As much as I enjoy being social and meeting new people, I'll often prefer to sit in the corner and watch the world go by.How I Participate in CSin addition to actively living the CouchSurfing life, I'm a member of the CS tech team and hope to help make the site better for allInterestsyes, i am interestedMusic, Movies, Booksmusic: just about everything (with a strong preference towards mellow rock/electronic) a few of the bands that really move my soul: Built To Spill, Pink Floyd, Mew, Blonde Redhead, Jimi Hendrix, Jurassic 5, Air, Sigur Ros, Mars Volta, Amadou & Mariam, Black Keys, Cat Power, the Knife, Yeah Yeah Yeahs... movies: absolutly, in fact there once was a point where I thought there was no such thing as a bad movie; books: humurous fiction (ie Tom Robbins, Douglas Adams, Jasper Fforde, Christopher Moore, etc) and non-fiction sci-fi (Ray Kurzweil, Joel Garreau, ...)One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done...everyday in this world is an amazing thing.... some of the things I'm most proud of doing: dog sledding, seeing the Aurora Borealis, visiting the land of my ancestry (Poland), hanging from hooks, learning to ride a motorcycle, skiing/hiking some beautiful mountains, hitch-hiking (always an amazing experience), flew in a helicopter (still need to learn to fly one), played in the night ocean with dinoflagellates (the bioluminescent algae)Locations TraveledTRAVELED: Canada, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, Poland, South Korea, Switzerland, United Kingdom LIVED: Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Sweden, Thailand, United States IS GOING TO: Turkey References

From Craig Smith Christchurch, New Zealand Feb 25 Positive Jeff or "Dave" stayed on the couch for only a night and was kinda pissed off that this was the case. Longer would've been better. From Young Han Auckland, New Zealand Feb 1 Positive I enjoyed hosting Jeff, even if for just a day. We had some nice conversation over Tui beer (sooo Kiwi), and a brunch with his mate Elvire the next day in Mt Eden. He shed some light on what it's like to live in a CS collective, and I appreciate the dedication he has contributed to the CS experience for everyone else. Cheers!
From Blair George Whakatane, New Zealand Jan 29 Positive Jeff's CS request came as a suprise to me so soon after I had signed up, but I'm glad I was able to accept it - it turned out to be an ideal first up experience. I got to learn a wee bit about what couch surfing is all about, and I even had my dinner cooked one night!

He's a good friend and definitively the reasonable thinker he looks ;) as well as a good soccer player, tireless hiker, motorcycle driver, software engineer and friend. Don't doubt to extend to him a couch and/or a meal! Surf his place if you can!
From Jessica Dullinger Homer, United States Oct 4, 2008 Positive Jeff was very active and indirectly influenced me to participate in the next marathon. If you get a chance, try one of his pinneapple-basil smoothies. There delicious. I never got the chance to hike with him, but I believe he would have the endurace to hike a mountain.........
From Michael Zarb Sydney, Australia Oct 3, 2008 Positive What can I say about Jeff? I think his aloofness puts people off at first but if you can persevere through that you will find a genuine guy who cares passionately about the CouchSurfing Project.
He also is usually up for some live music and has seen a ridiculous number of bands.
From Genevieve Huot Ottawa, Canada Oct 3, 2008 Positive I very much enjoyed my stay on his couch. Although we didn't have much time to get to know each other, he made the experience very fun and relax. The house is perfectly located in a safe environement.
From vErtiCel Sydney, Australia Oct 3, 2008 Positive Spending time with Alaskan CS Collective folks always motivates me to be a better couchsurfer. From CJ Doxsee Portland, United States May 17, 2008 Positive I guess you can say Jeff is my first official couch surfer that popped Julio El Grande's cherry! Julio is my luscious slut of a couch. Jeff made feel at home in my own home by making delicious shakes and setting up my network. Julio looks forward to Jeff's return from the final frontier. Maybe then I'll get my rematch in bowling!
From Sarah Havens Portland, United States May 17, 2008 Positive Jeff cracks me up. First he asks me to carry his crap around all night; then blames me when I forget about it; then leaves a bag of things at my place after surfing there?! Ha ha - just kidding, hon. :) Seriously this guy is really great, and perhaps all along it really was me trying to sabotage him to stick around just a bit longer. He'd be a great addition to the pdx crew and I miss him already. Come back soon!

From OH DONNA Chico, United States Apr 10, 2008 Positive OMG! I had a lot of communication with Jeff working together on the site and thought to myself, "just another tech guy" (although, always very helpful). Jeff is nothing short of *amazing^ to talk with, to hang with, to help get your wireless internet hooked up. Our very short time together just made every moment very special. I really wish I could have kept him here a lot longer. Totally impressed by Jeff. Host him while you can! Jeff come baccckkkk...
From Andrew Otto San Francisco, United States Apr 8, 2008 Positive Jeff is reliable and unexpectedly hilarious. It's hard to know what he's thinking about behind those dark shades of his. But, don't worry, whatever it is, you'll like it when he says it.
From Miss Mandie Mullumbimby, Australia Apr 7, 2008 Positive Jeff is one very intriguing and interesting guy! From LiteraryGypsy Islands, China Apr 4, 2008 Positive I met Tech Jeff quite by surprise--a pleasant surprise, to be sure. He and Jim were passing through Seoul on a long layover from Thai to Alaska Collectives (boggles the mind, doesn't it?), and we shared lunch, tea, birds, and wonderful conversation. Too brief, Jeff -- and I do hope our paths cross again, and soon.
From Charish Badzinski La Crosse, United States Apr 2, 2008 Positive Quick with a smile, and willing to offer well-thought-out insights on issues of great magnitude, this is a guy I really enjoyed sharing an office with at the Thai Collective. He is fiercely dedicated to his volunteer work with CS and can also belt out a mean tune in a Thai karaoke bar. He also drove cross-country to surprise me in Wisconsin!
