He was my best guide and friend in Toronto! He is awesome, polite, smart, intelligent and very friendly!

Ron is my favourite customer at my restaurant, he is such a joy to chat with any time he comes in. Despite life may not be looking up, he always puts on a smile at every challenge. I especially love his sense of humour bright and early in the morning. He introduced me to couchsurfing last year and since then i cannot get enough of it. i think im addicted:O...back to Ron, he is genuine and kind and anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting him know exactly what i mean...Happy surfing:)

Since Ron welcomed me to the couchsurfing project last January we have shared an ever deepening friendship. I credit him with feeding my excitement for this special community. He most certainly is a godfather of couchsurfing and, more personally, has been a sortof godfather to me in my CS adventures. In Toronto, Ron was a highly considerate, energetic, and youthful host and we were honored to be his guests.

 

When I first met Ron, I were impressed because he seem to be known by everybody. When I saw that he was not only known by the persons but also by the animals (the birds in the area where he lives always come to say "hi!" to him..) I was astonished!

Ron is one great host. When I arrived, he took me to a great restaurant to have great dinner, then he took me to his house, he made me feel like at home (or better!!). He showed what to do, and gave me tips on the best way to do it. He was always trying to make my life more easy. He went with me to show me some places...

There are so many great things to say and so little time!!. When I have more I will update the profile!!. Thanks Ron!!!!

Many, many CSers know Grasshopper (Ron). I was surprised when I was traveling and many people asked if I had met Ron. I told them 'no', but apparently I was mistaken. Recently, when I contacted Ron, he had told me we had met over a year ago! At 70+, he's still sharp! I only have the highest of praise for Ron. He's got a young spirit, a fantastic attitude and loves to talk and laugh! He's still ready for the dance floor! I hope I have his spirit and attitude when I'm 70! It was a pleasure to meet Ron!

 

After numerous e-mail conversations, I finally got to meet Ron in Toronto. Even better, I was hosted by this wonderful individual and his lovely birds. Ron is humorous though subtle, 70ish though stuck in his twenties and realistic though optimistic. Ron shared some overwhelming stories about his life experiences with me which I found both inspiring and motivating. Being hosted by Ron has been a great experience. One I will never forget!

 

Ron is the embodiment of the couchsurfing spirit, and if CS needs anything it’s a couple dozen more Rons. But in addition to being a CS deity, I also discovered he’s a genuinely great guy, as I finally got to meet him on a trip through Toronto. He’s warm and honest and down to earth, and liable to crack a joke at any time (sparing no one, including himself). He also knows how to treat his guests, whether it’s with good beer, delicious food, or just solid conversation, as he’s one of those people anyone can instantly connect with. You’d do well to stay with him and his rather charming budgies, which may look ferocious, but are really quite harmless...

 

RON is a fantastic individual who has stolen my heart....INCREDIBLE energy, and a crazy sense of humor that would keep ANYONE in SPLITS, he was one of the people I WANTED to meet. A tireless worker for CS and a truly genuine, warm hearted and caring guy, he is defintely a part of my global family and my happily adopted Grandad...I love Ron...and am so happy I met him...I am better for it. He truly embodies the spirit of couchsurfing and it is indeed an honor to have met and connected with him. Thank you Ron..xoxoxooxox

 

Ron is this amazing CSer that you could only dream of meeting. Not only is he ageless but he likes a good genuine laugh. He is funny, entertaining, has a keen spirit and honestly, he is simply A D O R A B L E . I can't wait to surf his couch. Toronto: I'll be back!

We met for breakfast (miam miam delicious!) with other couchsurfers and then he showed me the famous Eaton center, talking about the city and typical phrases.Ron is a very easy going person, helpfull and so cool! see you soon, I transform your house in a museum when you want ;D

I feel so fortunate to have had the chance to meet this amazing and energetic staple of our CS community. And I can proudly say I was able to get him venturing out in downtown Toronto; what a time! Ron has such a wonderful philosophy and outlook on life and will leave a positive mark on your soul, guaranteed.

Wisdom and youth all in one great guy! I am thankful that I finally got to meet Ron in person in Toronto - I have been looking forward to meeting him since early 2004 when we were fortunate enough to have him join the couchsurfing project. Ron is both wise and young at heart, has welcomed 10% of couchsurfers, has hosted more than 10, and continues to strongly support the network. Ron is a great guy - I highly recommend getting to know him and learning from his vast experiences and interesting outlook on life!

 

Ron is cool. I love his mission: "Deciding what to do for an Encore". He is one of those people that make CS such a great place to be. It will be encore encore encore encore...

Ron made me laugh, gave me rest, and treated me better than I deserve. He is an enjoyable conversationalist, with a fantastic sense of humor and the best laugh. I wish I had met him sooner but I am grateful to have gotten to know Ron and his budgie Joey. Ron is a friend with a heart bigger than all of Toronto.

 

Mr. Welcome Wagon...made me feel right at home on CS! Been awhile since I have been to Toronto, but looking forward to the next visit now!

 

Ron was an excellent host who made me feel at home with his friendly personality.
He was great at helping me get acqainted with the city directing me to places of interest of things to see and do.
He extended his trust by allowing me to have a key to his apartment which gave me the freedom to come and go as I please...
He treated me as a family member and took good care of me making sure I was comfortable in every way possible...
I consider Ron a close friend and look upon him as I would a family member.
While I was at his place a film crew from Ryerson University were doing a documentary about CouchSurfing and I was happy to partake in the film shoot by participating in the interviews with some good action shots. It was a thrilling experience that I will not forget. I definitely recommend Ron as a host and someone you should meet if you get the chance...

 

Well, funny thing, I could use most of the reference Ron left me to talk about him :) I am amazed that we share so many outlooks and ways (despite our little age difference, a little less than two scores if I got the idea, does seem that much expressed that way, right). Definitely something mystical about it :)
Ron is a inestimable asset to our community. Can you imagine he welcomed more than 8.000 of us !!! Still, he's humble and easy going, welcome you as a friend in his place where you can enjoy a incredible view on Toronto, and he is a cheering person, always seeing the brightest side in a person. Ron took the greatest care of me, and was the best host I could have hoped. Ron, the pleasure was mine, really :)

In my life i not met often person like Ron. Me and Daria feel him like a family person...like a brother. He was an extraordinary host..In his home i felt like in my house. Ron can be considered the right choice if you want to know a very special person..thoughtful, tactful, trustworthy and funny. Now we have a good new friend. Thank You Ron!!!

 

Ron and I joined couchsurfing around the same time back in 2004 when there were less than 1000 couchsurfers! We have been ambassadors together, and even though we (finally!) only met in May of this year, I feel like I've known him for a while. He's a very kind, intelligent, and energetic guy who is a great asset to CS! Meet him if you can!!
