Greg Boyd

 

Greg was a great host. He took the time to show me all over KC, giving me a tour of the various sites and places to see. More than that though, in many ways, he was just the type of person I needed to meet at just the right time. Whether in KC, Cambodia, DC, or India, he helped me to realize that the world is indeed quite small, and for as different as we all are, we're all pretty much dealing with the same things :) great host, hope to run into him again as the CS world gets ever smaller.

 

I surfed with Greg for 2 nights. His place is close to the center of the city and he showed me a fun time around the city. He's a great guy and I had a lot of fun talking with him.

Greg is the consummate couch surfer, just when you think you have a handle on the places he has been and enjoyed another country gets word bombed on you! He also has no furniture at the moment except for his trusty couch (i might be inferring a bit here =) ). Good food and drink should always accompany this good fellow whilst sharing the stories of life. It was a chance meeting that Greg could WALK to our beerluck party from his place and instant friends were made. Make sure to check him out wherever his travels take him, he is very friendly and fun to be around. Also you can make a salad with just lettuce parsley and croutons apparently haha. Greg was a great host with plenty of hilarious couch surfing stories to tell. A world traveller through and through. Had a great time.

He was fun to be around. Very positive, friendly and a great host. I had a really good time with Greg in my short stay in Seoul. Sure we'll meet in the future!!

 

It's a shame that I didn't have more time to talk to Greg. From numerous Cs mails and from one short meeting he seems to be a really friendly and welcoming person.
I'll hope to meet him again somewhere around the world!

I met Greg during a CS event in Seoul. We spent one evening during the party and I enjoyed talking to him. And I remember we had the most spicy kimchi ever that very evening :)

Greg is an extremely polite guest and is full of travel stories from Southeast Asia! Unfortunately, I didn't get to host him for very long, but I definitely felt comfortable immediately in his presence, and we had a great conversation about life in Cambodia and the all-around coolness of travel in Southeast Asia! Hope to meet up with him a lot more once he is settled in Korea!!! Safe travels to Japan!

 

Greg joined SISE, a discussion meeting on social & international issues. We had a good time talking about those issues with other members even if it was his first time for the meeting. We were very happy having you for the meeting and hope to see you in next meetings!

Most likely not a serial killer! Is humor appreciated in references? Greg is officially open enough to live in any of America's liberal enclaves (having been a visitor or resident of all of them, I would know), but I hope he goes with the NW. It could use a few more good teachers like him.

My first time couchsurfing and Greg made it really easy. I was able to do so much in 1 1/2 days in Phom Penh because of his contacts and advice. Even got to see parts of the city that tourists wouldn't generally know or hear about. Thanks for everything Greg, hope I can return the favor to you one day. See you around Siem Reap?

Greg is a great host. He showed me around the unique city Phnom Penh and he knew what people might want to see and do. Atteding HASH was also very great, go out of city and see smiling local people and banana and mango trees was awesome.
Sometimes showing people around is somewhat tiring but he was very generous to do it for me during his weekend. Thank you again and hope to see you soon in Korea.

Greg is a good guy, and cares about what he does, and doing it morally and well. Whether it is ngo's or teaching English. Greg was a good host, and good to talk to. It seems like we could have talked forever and stayed up sometimes late talking. I wish I could have talked more to him actually, but I knew he had work to do and I wanted to see more of Phnom Phen. I wish I could have gave him some more tips or help with ideas on teaching English, but I think he will probably end up being a better teacher or already is. Greg is also very good at greeting guests and as soon as we met he took me to S-12 School and explained a lot of the things to me. Then I did my very first hash run ever with him, and got some good exercise. Overall he just strikes me as a pure at heart guy.

I crashed at his place for three nights and had really fun. Although I made the mistake to trust a TukTuk driver after my arrival and he brought me to Psar O Russey instead of the Russian Market. So it lasted 2 hours till I arrived.
Thanks for the night out, sorry that I missed the hash, but I still deal with my wounded feet.

Meeting Greg at a CS dinner in Phnom Penh, I instantly noticed he was an open-minded and positive guy who likes to get involved. Greg knows things, he knows people, and seems to enjoy making things happen. Upon his recommendation, I joined him and a bunch of HHH people on a jog through the Cambodian rice fields which was a great experience. Next time I will hopefully have more time!

 

Greg is a wonderful character. He is one of the reason I feel that CS is such a nice place to meet like minded people. He is so friendly and a great person to call afriend. He is very active and it will be a pity when he leaves Phnom Pehn. The CS community will have such a hard time filling this city ambassador's shoes. I really like his nature and his openness. Keep it up Greg. Cheers.

 

Greg was of great help even before I met him for the first time. Because of him I found the volunteer job I wanted in Cambodia and it was great meeting him after there just as normal as meeting a friend who's been abroad for a while. Yeah, Greg we'll definitely meet somewhere around in PP ... need to share some stories of Borneo with you!

 

After meeting up and Hashing with him in Cambodia, we wound up needing a place to stay for one more night and he hooked us up. He showed us around the city, and entertained us for a couple days until our flight. Greg is a great guy, and very generous.

I stayed at Greg's for 3 days during the Water Festival in Phnom Penh. Greg was an excellent host. He was very friendly and very willing to help get me around the city or accompany me on whatever activity I had planned. He also had a lot of cool things for us to do. I really appreciated his banter and his hospitality throughout my stay.

 

We met for the first time when Greg came to have some cake on my birthday one chaotic night during the Water Festival. He told me lots of insightful advice about living in Phnom Penh, introduced me to his friends, invited me to join the Hash House Harriers on Sunday, and encouraged me to apply for a volunteer teaching position at his previous school. He also hosted me for 4 days and i had a really nice time staying with him.

I was introduced to Greg by Nabil and we had a drink at Koffee Korner in Phnom Penh.

He is a nice guy, and I feel happy that he was interested in learning and talking about Cambodia to people he has met..

This guy goes above and beyond the call of Couchsurfing duties, making sure that his surfers are well taken care of and comfortable with travel plans. Greg gave me some helpful info about Cambodia over peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, coconut fruit shakes, and BBQ beef baguettes during my short stint in Phnom Penh, and it was a pleasure tuk-tukking around with him.

It's rare that I reference somebody that I haven't hosted but Greg certainly gets my vote.

He'll put you at ease from the moment you meet him with his easygoing personality and great communication skills, and is a great individual to have on the CS team.

A well travelled individual with grounded opinions and a great outlook on life, I'd happily host Greg anytime he surfed his way by my couch, and so should you! Can't wait til the next time we catch up, hopefully we won't all be so sleep deprived!

Greg is a good person. We did go dinner twice and catch a movie...He is a someone you need if travel to Cambodia as he have a good information. Freindly and a nice guy like Greg is always needed.

I'm glad I got the chance to meet Greg during his stop in KK! We had some good discussions. He has had some cool experiences and full of energy. He is open and outgoing. Everyone should host him. Hope we can meet again!

Greg was transiting through JB from Malacca to Kota Kintabaru and was staying at Alan's for a night. Still calm and smily after the beating, he is easy-going and knows fairly well Cambodia. -Greg, hope you're having a safe climb in Sabah!

Greg stay at my house for 2 nights, he is a nice guy, friendly and yes.....he really love Cambodia. All of us have fun with the Hari Raya (like Christmas). Although my house are full but I'm so happy because this year i celebrate the Hari Raya with Greg, Michaela from Austria and Dr. Ridi from Pakistan not as usual, alone with my daughter. Hope u have a nice holiday in Sabah and hope to see u in March 2009 in Cambodia.

Greg, a nice guy he is. Smart and intelligent even. Don't know why I kind of have the intuition to know straight away that Greg is very knowledgeable. A very friendly pal he is and who is easy to get along with also. It was just great to share his enthusiasm towards Cambodia which I believe it's the place he falls in love with ;) Thanks for the welcoming gesture to have a visit. I will certainly take up on that. Thank you also for the good beer time. Yeah, many good `beer' cheers from me to you and really won't challenge with you when comes to talk about beer ;) I wait for your great story on Mount Kinabalu. Greg is really a cool guy who you should meet too. Althought we only got to know each other for 26 hours. He is a very simple and nice person to talk and share.
I am looking forward to meet and travel with him again.

Greg is a great person to talk to. He sounds ALMOST as bubbly as me. HAHAH! Plus, he's crazy enough to jump along and take silly photographs with me. In addition to that, he gave me some useful information about Cambodia, which assists my trip planning tremendously. Thanks!

However, I have no clue where he heard from that I am a "Party Animal". You have been deceived, Greg. I am a NERD! =D Though, whenever I get the chance to go out, I make full use of it. Well, it's always about good balance in life, no? Hope to meet you again when you travel back to KL!

 

I met Greg at a CS meeting in Kl and had a chance to share some stories and experinences with him.

If you need a spokesperson, use Greg. In such a short meeting with him, he still managed to share some information on the places he's been to. And he does make you feel like you need to book the next tour out of your country. Great, open-minded traveller. I think, he makes a good world citizen. Hope to see him again.

He said he was lucky to see me twice but honestly, I'd be the person who does that. Met him randomly at the barbeque garden. Still feel sorry coz I was too tired on that day to make me be a quiet guy and didn't talk so much with him though I knew he was (no, he's always) a ncie guy, friendly and easy to talk with.

 

We hosted Greg while he was visiting HCMC and I organised a short motorbike excursion out to the Mekong Delta. Although we only had two days we managed to cover a lot of ground and managed to travel some interesting routes. I was able to show Greg some of the other side of Vietnam where the locals are amazingly friendly and welcoming. It was a great couple of days and he was great company. Always pretty laidback and managed to cope well with a high speed ride back to HCMC when I was running late.

Definitely an interesting person to meet, to host or to surf with and if you enjoy motorbiking or cycling he makes a great tour partner.

We hope to meet him in Cambodia in October!

I greatly enjoyed hosting Greg during his stay here in Saigon. He has a wealth of knowledge about a whole range of things and was a very respectful and fun guest to have. I highly recommend him as a future guest or host, and I am definitely looking forward to rocking the CS community in Cambodia this October!

I still feel sorry now for him because he didnt have time to stay here and wait until "The Dark Knight" is showed but anyway we had a great time to watch X-File Movie 2 with a lot of screams , blood:P

Greg and I hung out a little at a great meetup in Phnom Penh. He is a cool guy who is rocking out Cambodia.

Met Greg on Phnom Penh first ever CS gathering although I had previously contacted him by the CS website and he offered all kinds of help and advice so I was glad to finally meet him in person and confirm that he's the cool helpful guy that I thought he was. It was fun talking with him and had a good time in his company.

It was awesome to see Greg and the PP crew and travelers over dinner in Phnom Penh. A gathering. Finally. So many people, so little time! If you swing by the Philippines just let me know! =)

 

We first met at the CS gathering at Phnom Penh. We managed to only speak for a few minutes. The next day with bumped into each other and we spoke a bit more.

He seems like a friendly guy and well traveled too.

Greg has such energy and enthusiasm to travel! It was great to finally meet and share a pizza at the first PP couchsurfing meeting. We had a good chat, and I'm looking forward to more at the hash house harriers!

Greg met up with us for coffee while in Phnom Penh. He is laid back, friendly, and extreamly sociable, and was able to show us an inside look at the expat community including a fun pub night with him and some friends. Overall made Phnom Penh even that much better.

Great experience!! Met up with him and some of his co workers and had dinner at a cozy little place. He gave me some cool info about Cambodia. And am hoping to chill again!!

Greg was awesome! After initially changing my plans, I changed them back and so was able to meet him in a cool coffee place he suggested. I got to meet some of his friends, hear cool stories and tips and enjoy some local beer! I hope to see you in London (or anywhere!)

 

Greg and David # 2 bike from i dont know where but they made it to the bonfire :D and they were a great addition to the party, really friendly and they like to party so of course there gonna surf my couch really soon and party down in Tijuana :D see you soon.

Greg's a really awesome guy, dragged him around with a few other travellers the first moment he got here and he was totally up for it! Really enjoyed hanging out with him, having a chill out session at a cafe, a walk in the park... He stayed only for less than 24 hours but it felt like we've known each other for a long time! Definitely have to meet up again (in South Africa?) ;)

Greg was so much fun to talk to and party with! He's definitely an all around great guy and I can't wait for him to visit Austin!

He is a nice guy to talk with and hang out, we talk about his trip to cambodia to teach english at the bonfire, after that we went to TJ al concierto de NORTEC, and we ended up in LA ESTRELLA, we had lots of fun, hope i see him againg whenever he comes back from Cambodia....

 

Had the chance to meet up at Fiesta Park in San Diego, CA.
There were 40+ that met up for a bonfire and beach gathering.
We also traveled to Tijuana, BC, Mexico to party it up. We had the chance to see Nortec Collective (a techno/banda band) in TJ with 15 other Couch Surfers. The sun was up before we left the streets...

 

Met briefly at one of the SD bonfires, definitely a cool guy who is very like minded and highly active in and out of the CS community. Good luck in Cambodia mate!

Greg is a great guy, very fun to explore new territory with. I am sure that he did not mean to out that he had a negative experience with me. We had a great time exploring Balboa Park with Gina and I experienced my first California Burrito with him. Well, so far we've met for coffee, but Greg is really nice and fun to talk with. Hopefully we'll get to see more of each other soon!

 

Gregor is the coolest person ever. I have been to Nigaragua, Japan, SF, and Big Bear with him. Best guy to travel with, super nice, mellow and trusting. Would travel again and again with him.

Boyd surfed at my place for a couple of nights while he was in Japan. I had known him a couple of years ago and it was great to have him as a guest. He managed to survive a couple nights in my tiny, cold apartment. I had to work, so just gave him a spare key. Drank some beers and had a good time catching up. Well traveled considerate guy!

I worked with Greg in Japan for a long time. He is a great guy and totally trustworthy. He's very out-going and talkative and always up for a good time He is definitely interesting and entertaining.

Greg is a really friendly guy. I had fun talking to him and cruising the streets of Portland on his rented Harley :) Only stayed one night but he is welcome anytime.

I've known Greg for a long time and he's always been really generous and positive. He's always got a good story to tell and is fun to hang out with and talk to.
Greg is a really thoughtful guest and doesn't take advantage or impose on you in any way. I'll completely vouch for him as a good friend and as a good Couch Surfer!
