NOTICE:
We are NOT HOSTING in March + April because of a trip to Hong Kong, Java, Bali and Lombok. So requests for that period are senseless.
Things you should know/do/don't:
1. Normally I only host people during the weekends, Fridays from 19:00 hours till Mondays 08:00 hours max. I work Mon-Fri so don't host during the week.
2. Strictly no smoking
(At my place and in all public buildings, restaurants, bars etc. in NL)
3. Bring your own sleeping bag, toothbrush etcetera
(You can borrow a towel for showering if necessary)
4. We would like to host single surfers or couples so we can have some 'quality time'. This also means we don't just want people to come over to crash and say "Hello, goodnight and goodbye". On the other hand, we also have pretty busy weekends sometimes, so then you'll have to go out and explore the city on your own. Which should be a fun time anyway :)
5. I live close to Amsterdam Amstel train station. Distance to city centre: 5 min by taxi/car, 10 min by bike or public transport, 30 min walking.
6. We like bars, clubs, cultural happenings, events, concerts, performances, the park (when sunny) and what have you. We can suggest many activities, but of course the choice is up to you.

How I Participate in CS
We 'surfed' Eastern Europe in 2007. You can check our adventures here: http://hifi.tumblr.com.
Now, in 2009, we're hosting in our hometown of Amsterdam, to give back some of the great experiences we had!
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.
For a long time Hilco shared more than his couch, but a room in his place in Amsterdam! Hilco is an amazingly fun and easygoing person and I am glad to have lived with him for such a long time.
an extremely friendly and trustworthy couple! though it was on quite short notice it was a real pleasure to host them. i really hope to meet them again someday.
theye were occupaing my couch even do i was out of the flat. But still managed to make a dinner with them, that they seriously enjoyed. I like when people say they felt like at home when visiting my place.
I know that dutch ppl are very kind and easygoing but it would be hard to top Hilco & Fieke!! Kind, relaxed, friendly, helpful and absolutely trustable :) It was really a pleasure to host them even the request was very late. We went out together, joined a CS WB-party from Andreea and had a good time together - You´re always welcome back to Vienna!
