Anthony is a wonderful musician and an intriguing human being. I never thought the trombone could be sexy until I met him. His approach to life is incredible and he somehow makes things work. Anthony showed me a fascinating side of Barcelona filled with music, laughter, sharing, and spontaneity. Buenos suerte, mi amigo!

Anthony was a great help to Sarrah and I in Barcelona, and I'm sure the whole dynamic of our travels have changed since he introduced us to Ryanair.com. This guys a good jazz musician with a heart for everyone who passes through his life. Stay well, hope your trip to America is smooth, and maybe I'll see you again in Barcelona before you leave.

 

Anthony is just a great person, I enjoyed his company traveling through Wendover and California. He is a really interesting person and has a lot to share about music! Also he has been a huge help on the CS site, I appreciate it. Best of luck!

Anthony was a very kind and respectful guest. His time here was during a very busy time for me and he was understanding and gracious. We had some nice meals and spent some great times together. Anthony will always be welcome when he returns from his journey.

 

Anthony's a cool guy, always fun to be around. We've hanged out in very weird occasions including: drinking games night, watching an American football game & jam session (where he rocked with his trombone, and he always was awesome. Keep it up, man :)

Anthony and his friend Jessica are probably the best couch surfers I've ever hosted, so far... The days they stayed at home I was really busy in my job, so I couldn't look after them properly. I really don't know who was hosting who, because they did shopping for me, cooked for me, cleaned the apartment... They organised meetings with other Couch Surfers in my county... They played music together, they let me play their instruments... We shared music, meals and laughs!
I love Anthony's sense of humour and his humanity. He's extremely open-minded and he has many things to speak about, and he likes listening, even if it's in Spanish! He flows with life and nothing seems to be impossible for him. He lives the present moment and he's capable to make every occasion unforgettable... I promised him to visit them in Barcelona, and I'm looking forward to it! We still have lots of music and movies to share with each other! It was really cool to juggle, dance and play music while hitchhiking!

My flatmate in Barcelona for 6 weeks: To convince me to stay the entire 6 weeks with him and Jessica he promised me that it will be an "excellent good time" - now at the last day of our cohabitation I can sum up that besides spending an amazing time with my little crazy family, I met an awesome tromboneplayer, wonderful caring friend, who can stand me even if I don`t. I hope you will always be part of my life in any way until we will live all together one time in the future in a tent on the mongolian countryside.

Anthonyyyy! My little leprechaun who I carry in my back pocket and pull him out when I want him to play trombone. We`ve made our own crazy lifestyle of traveling musician bums in Barcelona, and it`s nice to have company on this journey. After our 6 weeks of living together, I feel like I'll never be able to leave him behind. We'll have to meet again, here, there, everywhere, or maybe when we're both famous musicians! I love you even if you`re United Station.

I met anthony through music...there is no better way to meet in my opinion...He is a great person to have the pleasure of knowing...It is hard to believe the I have known him for four years!! I trust him and hope someday he will come surf las cruces and stay a while...My couch is open!!

Anthony can really teach you means of living beyond. He discovers things with his trombone, explores the dumpster on your street and can make a delicious stew for lunch. He's one of those rare persons you hang around with and can just simply be.

UHH THE MOST LEGIT TROMBONE PLAYER EVER!?!?

Seriously though, Anthony took me in when I truly needed it. A mutual fondness for dumpster diving was all it took for me to know we would be pals. We ate garbage picked sandwiches, explored the city, and lived the low life to the best of our abilities. Definitely come to the Cle soon, if not I'm sure I'll be asking for a kitchen floor to sleep on again in the very near future.

Anthony, uff maybe its the most active and energetic person I met, who still wasn't affected by slow and tardy life rhythm of Spain :) he is amasing trombone player and improviser, so its very glad to have him in the same group and creat the best thing in the world - music :)

funny Anthoshaaa :D (as been called that night) at the meeting of Rabat-Salè group/one of the best i´ve ever been, we are suppose to meet in Barcelona. u remember?

i had great time meeting Anthony, in Rabat monthly meeting, he came just to join this meeting, but he decided to stay one more day, cool we managed to let him like our city, really don't miss to meet Anthony you'll enjoy chilling out with him, c ya soon mate...

 

Anthony is a funny, responsible, flexible surfer - total joy to host in our home! After traveling all day, he was patient enough to wait an hour outside for us to arrive home, and then went straight to work fixing a broken string on my old violin. He proceeded to teach our two young boys how to play trombone, and woke me up the next AM on my B-day with a birthday tune! If you get the chance, host him and be enchanted by all of his stories of being on the road.

It was a weird feeling when this guy left town. Eugene was not the same. We were all so active together. He's so sociable, he brings people together, even though he's the nomadic one. It's quite a gift.
I can't wait for him to come back and tell us his stories, and also for him to see all the changes we've made in our homes! He can be my party planner! Yay! Oh the dinner parties we will have...
That reminds me, he saved me from being a panicked host at my own housewarming party by making a hell of an orderve/cheese plate.. He's so good at helping!

Also, he's the best goddamn trombonist I know.

Meeting Anthony was a great experience!! He joined our band with his trombone and we had a fantastic sesion. After the music sesion we went out with my friends and had a great crazy party night!

The day after I went to work (that was hard for me) but when I came back home he had cleaned the house!

Anthony is a full time traveller and hitch hiker. I enjoyed having him as a guest. A easy going, respectful and social person with a great sense of humor. We had lots of fun with other CS friends and I I am looking forward to host him again.

It was a pleasure to meet Anthony. he is a very cool guy, very easy to talk with even if we sometimes had to use a dictionnary ! Next time you come in Provence, we'll have wine degustation et could speak about "on the road", the book I must read !!

 

Despite his horrible ordeal of being stranded in the pouring rain under a provincial, Swiss highway bridge, Anthony was a great guest, a lot of fun to be around, and proved not only that he has great taste in movies and strange British TV-Comedy, but also that hitchhiking is, in fact, possible in Switzerland. A pain, yes. But possible ^^. Like, totally, dude.

This guy is an awesome tromboner, being able to melt into a french brass band that has its own codes and social behaviours.
His way to play the trombone reflects this guy : easygoing, jazzy, that can be really quiet and then burst into laughs...
He's really the guy to rock you weekend out of its pattern.

Hey Anthony!! I only had to talk to him for 5 minutes to know he was everything a CS nomadic ambassador should be...he is A, no wait, THE couch surfing king....or is it couch smurfing king? He's the Smurfer. He is an open and friendly guy, you'll kick it off the second you meet him!

Anthony is awsome he's what I want to be the nomadic amasador I dream of following in his foot steps. Also he's nuts he was an awsome guy at tent surf.

 

I want to get to know Tony better. I met him while he surfed with Donna in Chico. I'm jealous of his traveling, and want to learn how to 'wing' it! No hesitation in hosting/surfing again in the future. Safe travels!

Interesting to talk to, thats the least I can sat about Anthony. He is the kind of couchsurfer I am targeting when I have the opportunity to go surfing a place, and who would be of course very welcome as a guest!

Anthony is a master bartender and impressed everyone with his ability to stand up in a canoe while passing out beer. Anthony was a lot of fun to talk to and I look forward to seeing him again before one of us leaves the surrounding area.

I'd heard of and talked to Anthony through a few different channels, but finally met him face to face in Wyoming for tour de laramie, a drunken night of biking. Since then I've bumped into him unexpectedly in various places. He's a good guy seeking and creating action wherever he goes, it can be a thought out plan or something spur of the moment. If you've found Anthony it's likely you did so under the circumstances of good times.

 

Anthony and Zak made it for the annual Cinco de Mayo party and were great ambassaders for couchsurfing. Although we had a few local CS's it always helps to spread the word with those who are currently traveling. Very interesting fun Guys! We got a chance to talk the next day and they seem to really be enjoying there travel!

Andrew is an amazing person, I'm so glad he was at our camp during tent surf, it made the experience a lot more enjoyable. Him and his lovely new wife went out of their way to help me while I was there, and they are both amazing artists!

Anthony is simply unique! I met him while he was getting married in the middle of f#*%ing nowhere at 10,000 feet!!! crazy dude, lots of good vibe! :-D we had some good conversations around bonfires and he showed me how good he is at cursing in Italian... I sure hope to meet him again somewhere!

Anthony is a great couchsurfer. He is always up for something fun for couchsurfers. He organizes events for CSers and motivate other CSers to participate. Definitely a cool guy to hangout with.

Niven and Anthony were our tentsurf neighbors and they were the best possible neighbors! I absolutely loved meeting both of them. Both of them have some of the best stories ever and now they can add their crazy Tentsurf wedding to the mix. I'm so bummed that I went hiking that day. Anthony, the nomad, is always very chill and remains polite and friendly even in the most frustrating of situations. The tent circle would certainly not have been the same without him and Niven.One day hopefully I will see both you traveling nomads again.

Wish I'd had more of a chance to interact with this character, but he's a warm, friendly guy. It was a blast to finally meet him around the Tent Surf '09 bonfire after a few emails had been exchanged. Thanks for everything Anthony and congrats!

From Idea to TentSurf Anthony was there every step. The spontaneous message I received from his now significant other was special and surprising! I had the wonderful privilege of performing the wedding for Anthony and Niven at TentSurf 2009 and cant wait to be there for the Baptism.... hehe! Anthony is is Musical and eclectic and all good. I miss him already.

 

Anthony was a great guest to have! I would call him introspective and friendly - ready for any adventure. He is trusting, fun, friendly, and especially great at caring for others and noticing their needs. He showed up at my place when I was not home and I described how to get into my place. When I showed up at home to find 13 people who had cooked dinner for everyone and had beers cold and ready, I experienced the miracle of surfing - I was being hosted in my own apartment! Thanks for being open, giving, and a wonderful person!

 

i married this crazy kid! an amazing soul who changed my life from the moment we met. anthony is smart, talented and incredibly caring. he is what couchsurfing is all about- living life to the fullest and sharing your passion with those around you. a restless traveler, he spreads his love and joy to everyone he meets. his spirit is like a wildfire, and his love for others is endless. my heart will go wherever he hitch hikes, walks, borrows a car or randomly hits the road to. he is stopless.

Anthony is a wonderful guy, hospitable and gracious to the core. He met up with Claire & I over in Rome, GA, and we hung out for the night talking about all kinds of things. Anthony has the traveling bug and wants to see everything. I was hoping he'd stick around an extra day, but hey, when you gotta go, you gotta go! I recommend him to any Couchsurfer.

Anthony is one of the coolest surfers I have had he was always fun and ready to have a good time. He was super clean with my place even did my dishes when he left.. Now thats a good surfer! We went out to the bars and had some beers fortunately for him he was a No... I really enjoyed my time chatting with Anthony and would recommend him to stay with anybody... AWESOME GUY!

Anthony is a great guy. Clean, courteous and fun. We would love to have him back again. He and his friend Zak stayed with us for a weekend and it was great to have them. You could not ask for better surfers. They rolled into a party we were having and everyone loved them. They hooked us all up with pizza and good conversation. Anthony is a cool trombone player. He will hook you up with some dorian trombone passages that will make you weep with joy. I highly recommend you get him sleeping on your couch as fast as possible!

 

Anthony- come back, Vancouver misses you and the band just doesn't sound the same without a trombone player on those few tracks! This wonderful creature graced my space for a whole week and instantly just fit himself into my circle of friends, community and music. It's been a few months, but I definitely had to change/update this. Since April when I first hosted and met him, Anthony has become one of the best friends I've ever met through CS. He is a great mentor for those newbie-nomads like me who are still trying to figure out the Open Road and its implications. He helped make my first CS event what it was by teaching me how to effectively get the message out to CS locals. He has given me advice, wisdom, and an open ear when I have been having rough days on the road. He somehow has the ability to make the CS magic happen and grow community wherever he arrives, and taught me the necessity of hugging your hosts. I run into this crazy person everywhere... from Idaho, to bowling in Denver, to the library in Salt Lake, to Tentsurf... when will the madness end?!

Those of us at Tentsurf were lucky enough to see him tie the knot with an equally amazing CSer, and they are both welcome on my couch whenever they so desire.

 

I met this guy at the CS happening in the Moscow/Pullman area. Great guy and easy to get along with... conversations about the deep stuff were enlightening. Also, I have no doubt that if things were to get dicey, he's the type of guy to give you the shirt off his own back. Hang out with him if you get the chance!

 

I have a soft spot for traveling & busking musicians...Anthony only deepened that affection! He is the perfect guest: wise, funny, tidy, grateful, and outgoing. Take him in if you get the chance! You are welcome anytime, Anthony (you and the trombone!).

Anthony is a fun guy, great to talk about music, art, anything cool. He would be a wicked guy to have on your couch, and if I ever get one he'd always be welcomed on mine.

 

OK, truth be told, I didn't actually host Anthony. He stayed with my neighbor. But, it was just like hosting him, since we all hung out together for the weekend. I don't think strong friendships are easily come by, and--call me crazy--but I feel like I've known Anthony for years and years. Let's hope we can play music together soon. Oh, and, yeah, I'd recommend him to any couchsurfing host anywhere.

Anthony is a cool guy who invited me to many a Stammtisch and when I finally came we met for the first time. I'm very happy to have met him.

 

Met him and his friend Jon at an SF Underground meeting. It was a good time! Told me where "Basecamp" is located only a few miles from my place. I also gave him and his friend a ride back to his host. We may hang out again before he hitches back to Utah.

 

Met Anthony at a SLC meet. Great guy and very active in the CS community and organizing. See you again sometime down the road when I find myself in SLC again.

 

Anthony needs another positive reference like I need a hole in the head, but I just can't help myself. He's a real energetic nice guy. He personally regenerated regular get togethers of the Salt Lake and Utah CS groups. Not an easy feat in it self, but did it from 80 miles away! He's the best CS has to offer.

Anthony is just an awesome guy. Very warm and genuine in his interactions with people. Makes conversation very easy. Definitely fun to talk to and hang out with, and i think it's fair to say he's always up for a discussion on music and theory. Definitely one of the coolest guys on CS that i've met.

Anthony is a great guy, honest, smart and inquisitive. I surfed two of his couches while I was in Logan and we had many really good discussions about the state of the world. But despite what he says there is no such thing as conspiracy theorists, only theories and conspiracies. :)

Anthony invited me to the SLC Stammtisch. I'm really glad I went. He is such a fun and positive kid. I definitely appreciate his sense of humor. After food and drinks we sneaked a drawing into the boing house and drove to an after party while practicing our limey accents. I was sad that he didn't stay at the party, but I can't wait until we can get together again at the next event.

Anthony is a really great guy. Very involved in couchsurfing and a great "organizer" He's humble, funny, and very engaging. It was great to be able to talk a bit at Stammtisch and I'm sure we'll be seeing each other around.

Anthony's dedication to life is inspiring. With him around, conversations are more exciting, art is more stimulating, and having nothing to do stops being boring and becomes an opportunity.

As you can see, Anthony has this CS thing down, and it shows. I met him at a CS event that he put together, he was great at including everybody and was just an great guy all around.

 

I meet Anthony at the CS gathering on Sat 18. The meetting started around 530pm at a local restaurant and then part of the group headed to a local pub. Stayed with the group till 1130pm. We had alot of fun and get to know each other. Anthony was very friendly and shared his experiences with me about the CS Project, then I learned alot from him about it.

Had a great time Friday night! Suffered mutually all day Saturday... ugh.. But hey, deep fried ravioli is certainly a cure all! Thanks for the company and the wet nose fest :)

Anthony organized a cs meetup. I had a blast and i found him to be witty charming and a good host. Thanks for being you Anthony and bringing us together!

 

Anthony was a super helpful host who made sure I was well taken care of. He also took a great interest in my recording project, recorded some great trombone for me, helped me get a deal on some music gear, helped me meet other musicians, and made me a sandwich. Awesome! Very good person, friendly and great to talk too, this is the person that got me into couchsurfing. we met thru mutal friends at school. we don't hang out as often as we should.

 

Anthony organized and brought the first CS event to SLC,....ever! He is exciting and hilarious. What he really needs to do is move to SLC.... we may need him here.

Anthony is a great guy, and willing to provide a couch on short notice. Not only was it comfortable (beats a sleeping bag on the ground), but the dog kept me company and warm all night. He and his room mates are accommodating, friendly, cordial, and I highly recommend him as a trustworthy traveler well worth meeting.

I met Anthony thru Candice a mutual friend. Talked to anthony for about 5 minutes and he simce to be real nice and honest person to start a frindship with.

 

So I'm not sure if the first night counts because there wasn't any sleeping involved, but Anthony is definitely a fun person, and terrorizing SLC late into the night was a blast.

I wish "Extremely Positive" was still an option because Anthony totally deserves it.

Anthony and I were in contact more than a month before I came. He was incredibly helpful in organizing my trip. He picked me up at the SLC airport and gave me a ride to Logan (thats a 1.5 hour drive!).

He introduced me to his housemates and friends around town. I got a chance to have some much needed American cuisine (biscuits and gravy, bbq ribs) as well as a local specialty (Burger & Big Dog).

We took a gamble and hitchhiked to Bear Lake together (about 40 miles away) to see the view and recruit a new CSer.

I was in town for a three day conference (Open Education 2008) which Anthony was interested in, and I was happy to share the details with him.

After the conference Anthony and I hitchiked to Salt Lake City and met up with a couple CSers there for an all night adventure.

We saw the sights, went to a concert, took abbey road photos, used flags, and drove bobcats.

Anthony and his manor of music provided a great place to surf with my very own fireplace. Even though he works too much we found the time for fun and talk most evenings. I hope to visit again in the future.

Anthony is one of a kind. Nothing is too far out to have a conversation about, and he is very caring. I dig him.

I have had quite a few party nites and travel story discussions with Anthony in the last two years

After years of opera abstinence, Anthony almost got me into one! ;) (shame on me, by the way...) Haven't heard him play the trombone yet, but if the sound is as smart as his wit, I want to listen to it ;) very friendly guy with a lot of humour to share and a lot of music to play. I hope to do both with him once he finally becomes a Wiener! ;)

anthony was a really cool guest. he helped me with my "beersicle" problem and cheered and jumped for austria at football even though we had no chance to win... and we feel the same way about mormons!

 

Anthony was on his best way to become a Wiener, but missed his trombone so much that he eventually had to go back. He was guest/co-host/dancing partner/CS activities enthusiast/music junkie for more than a week in Vienna and Bratislava and we had a great time for sure. Very friendly, cultured and creative guy with a vast musical knowledge and lots and lots of fun to spend time with! he certainly will initiate some great CS get-togethers in Utah and I highly recommend to check'em out if you are around. hasta la proxima, Antosha!

 

The world is definitely smaller than you think. We met briefly in Vienna last year and after that discussed about Tom Waits and which genre he belongs to. Never expected more than that to happen.

But now we met again once in his for-a-while-hometown and second surfing the same host's couch. We even made a detour to meet him. I don't think I have to say more :-)

I met american guy in Austria! while was hosted by austrian host Chris and he was hosted by russian girl Masha.That s BIZZARE!He showed me around and we went to the opera and Albertina together. Thats was fun! Anthony is quite fun, easygoing, intelligent(he knows quite a lot about music)hope to meet you again,when we both will move to Vienna :-)))

I had fun with Anthony - I especially appreciated the way he danced :)) He's got the moves!

anthony is the nutsy founder ;-)he was the first snoring guest who slept in the kitchen without beeing asked for ;-)))) it is really fun to hang out with him. i just can recomment everyone meeting/hosting him ! he is great and i hope he come over again for dinner bevore he leave europe ......

i met anthony in klagenfurt after exchanging a few messages and trying to help him out with organizing a host in klagenfurt and a car to vienna. we met when i introduced him to a friend of mine who was driving and had a little chat before that. he's a nice guy and i'm sure we would have great fun if we met for more than 30 minutes :)

 

Easy-going, friendly and open-minded, he's made me think one more time what a great idea CS is! ;))) We had plenty of fun together, and I really hope that we see each other again! ;))) Take care ;)

Kind and polite, he's a great guest.Respectful, neat and really kind.Very quite person easy to speak with but even to laugh and joke.I often helped me washing dishes and he has been a gold mine solving my pc problems!! Definitely trustworthy!! Only bad note: He snores like a bear but he can make that up during the day!

days heaering me talking in any kind of language! He's
a very kind and cute guy with a sense of humour which
at first baffles you and then it overwhelms you! With
him even the most normal things can become ridiculous!
At the same time though it's a real pleasure to talk
with him about serious stuff too in a night dressed
with indian food and music! Waiting for you to have
the next bottle of Rakia!!

My last guest before my trip to China.. He's awesome! We talked about everything, we went to a CS meeting, whatched movies, listened to music.. definitely not enough time.. next time I should host him for like one year!! thanks again for taking me to the forbidden zone!!

Met again on Bologna.. So much fun, from hitchhiking in fron of a bus stop in the suburbs to pose as spidermen on a huge toy web!

Anthony is a sincere friend, and very talented Trombonist. His mind is never closed, and his door is always open. You are guaranteed to have a good time when you spend it with him. He is a great teacher, full of information about music, among many other things.

He is a real nice guy...we didn't have to to much time to show him siena but he neveer complained...he helped us with cooking and dishes...we had fun going out...i hope i'll see him again...
