Dan Song

Was my pleasure to meet Dan on the way to west Virginia, chop the wood, peel the apples, talk about continues travels, meditate and drink free beer in a Williamsburg bar after that ;-))) a true Nomadic spirit, always nice and helpful.

 

Dan joined a bunch of us on a road trip. We had a blast and he survived my driving.

 

I met Dan through a spur of the moment CS meeting. He is a very outgoing person and well traveled individual. I felt we were able to relate very well to our travels, personal life, and outlook on life. I hope that our paths will cross again soon and we can maybe do some traveling together. Maybe Thailand, Dan?

Though my meeting with Dan was brief, I got the impression that he is openminded and he is easy to converse with. He's trekked around quite a bit and is able to offer lots of helpful advice on meaningful travel. I hope to bump into him again soon.

Dan is a Korean American who was visiting his family members in Korea. I've found him very sincere and genuine from what he said about his works and experiences. He wanted to travel in Seoul while visiting his family, and I guided him for a day. It was such a gloomy day, which made it hard to decide where to go. We went to Seodaemun Independence Park, where was full of prison buildings. We didn't mean to visit "there," but it was such a perfect choice under the weather. At night, we went to a music concert at Seoul Plaza. It was sad the show was shortened due to the heavy rain, but I definitely think we had great times together! :D

Dan was a strange experience for me. I feel like we know each other well and i know i can trust him to the end of the world, but somehow it was difficult for me to communicate with him. This i regret cause he´s for sure a heart of gold and you don´t meet one everyday.

 

Dan my man! After almost meeting in San Juan Cotzal and exchaging a few emails, we finally met in Xela.
You can tell from the moment you start talking to him that he has a heart of gold. He's been around and sees the world from another persepective, that you don't find everyday.
We'll meet again and ask: Qué hora es?

Dan is really cool people! I love the way he opens up his heart and his arms to everyone! He has great energy and even through a small hiccup, we managed to meet up and have a great time traveling around with some fantastic hosts in Chiconcuac! Really good times! I'm sure I'll run into him again somewhere in the world!

I wish I had had more time to talk to him! But as an overall experience I can say he's a great guy and an excellent advisor ;)

We met us at Mac house in a crazy party making a fun ritual for cooking sushi, he is really trusly giving to everybody his friendship, he is the guy who came to your house like a CS and leave it like a friend. Good time, good beer and an interesting work life to talk about!

Dan is most certainly an original guy. He was my first couchsurfer and I really enjoyed getting to hang out with him. He´s really fun, intelligent, spontaneous, curious and well traveled. His array of genuine stories will keep anyone entertained! He can fix remote controls and has brilliant music! I hope it´s just a matter of time before running into eachother again..

Dan is one of the most adorable people in this world! Great company, good fun and an amazing friend. We have wonderful memories of parties in Dublin and trips in Ireland - all including some sort of dance. ;-)

I walked into the party in Chiapas and it was like..."I know you! Dan!" Where will we meet next? Kathmandu? He is a ramblin man for sure!

Dan is an awesome person, he has been all around the world working and getting to know the people that he has encountered throughout his travels. His rich experience shines through his personality and enriches him as a person. He is definitely a great traveler and a great person who understands the meaning of travel and couchsurfing.

My experience with Dan is another proof that the (couchsurfing) world is smaller than you think. He came to a CS meeting I organized in Mexico, and there, chatting, we suddenly realized that we met randomly 2 weeks before in El Salvador!!! Dan is a fellow nomadic amb, hitch-hiker, and seems to be a great traveler. Moreover I do love his pictures. I would have loved to travel with him for a while, but I was going the other way. Safe trips, que te vaya bien!

Hes a super fun guy! hes a super cool couchsurfer and you will have a great time talking or going to party with him, easy going, knows a lot about traveling and for sure is a good nomadic embassador! We should get together for more party in El Salvador!....by the way you have 27 not 47! you liar hahahahaha that was so fun....

I'm very happy I got to host Dan and that my first CS experience turned out to be so nice. He's a very easygoing and tranquil person with many interesting thoughts. I feel that he came and brought a new world with him, and he's definitely left mine a little better than it was before he came.

He also gave me a plant that he named Danielcito and told me that I better take care of it...gift or burden...still trying to figure that out...but I hope I'll get to meet him again in San Fransisco in september!

Dan is such a great person. The few days I spent with him hitchhiking through central America were amazing. I love his sense of communication and how he is open to listen to everybody. Very easy going and generous guy. He has a very good energy, shining love around him.

I've met Dan at my first day of travel in Guatemala, when he was so kind to show me where the bathroom is. For this moment of encounter I'm so grateful, because it provided the opportunity to get to know a helpful, genuine and funny character: Dan. To my opinion, the world need more personalities like him.
We've spend a wonderful time and I hope to see him again.

Dan is the type of traveler I am trying to become. He finds a way to truly step off the gringo trail, and I think his personality is a testament to that. We only passed a few weeks together, but I felt he understood me incredibly well. He was great to talk to during some rough times, and I am truly appreciative of this. He also embodies what CS is, and made me excited to host people one day. Our paths shall cross again shortly, that I am sure of!

people like Dan make the experience of couchsurfing one of the best thing on the world, he didn't stay in my house but I really enjoyed the CS meetings, in xela, tilapita, and some others parties, I like him because he likes xela so much and this is a thing he is always welcome to my house ans xela!!

Dan and I have hung out a bit here in Guate and he sublet my apartment while I was in the States for a couple weeks... everything was left cleaner than when I left! Very responsible, trustworthy and, not to mention, great company!

I had the chance to met Dan and had the opprotunity to share so much stuff with him in a so much short period off time. He is a person that I highly respect. Is understanding off live and the deepness off is soul make me feel like I have a close brother on this planet. I met Dan twice - at a game event, and at a Potluck - and had extremely interesting conversations. He spoke of things that I've thought the same way myself: about exploring - the sense of humility that travel fills you with; about change; about the way you feel when you travel without a destination, and you see everyone around you rushing, knowing exactly where to go. I wish I get to know more of Dan. And get to travel with him. It would be an enriching experience.

 

Really enjoyed meeting Dan at the potluck last night. He is alot of fun to talk to, and I truly hope to get a chance to hang out with him again sometime!

Dan Song is the type of person that I'd wish to be part of my family. I admire what he does with his time in life and hope that I'll get a chance to travel with him at some point.

 

Dan... laid back, open, quiet, interesting, good energy, eats like a powerlifter. Okay, the last part isn't exactly true, but I recently had the pleasure (dismay?) of sharing a meal with him and even though he had a bucket of creamy pesto pasta he was hellbent on eating huges slices of pizza too! ;) We've met many times at events, dinners and so on and every time I've had the impression that he's a really good person who wants to do something positive with his time and energy. He's one of the folks I'm glad to have around and will stay in touch with when he leaves.

Dan and I are proof of how CSing can bring rockin' travelers together randomly in this world. We met in Dublin on St. Patty's Day weekend in 07' and then again at a Berkley invasion of Santa Rosa. Coincidence??? Maybe... or just two bad ass CSers making their rounds around the wondrous world... cool people are bound to run into each other! See you around somewhere unexpected! :)

 

Spending time with Dan is just like having a nice swim in a fresh and awaking ocean! Always positive and ready to play, Dan expresses his deep soul in a lovely childish way... I had so much fun playing with you on the beach enligntened by the fire and the boteillas of wine!!! What a man!

Wait to meet the reputable Dan.
As a matter of fact, we met in Berkeley without punctilious plans and from it concocted a spruce little adventure, where the upcomings was impromptu, but inevitably jocular, scrumptious and astute.
Dan scatter around a canny, zany and debonnaire nimbus, and the remarquable host he has been for me is applaudable.
And you know what? excluding the fact that he mades me interpolate in unmaginable places full of distinguished counterparts, I had also the priviledge to be welcomed by Dan’s Mum and brother Jessie in Sacramento.
Tonight me and my friend Lisa browsed during two hours the synonymous dictionary, looking for analogous term for him. To make short, we thought as well about altruistic, palatable, sagacious, erbium, erudite, loyal.

Dan is a terrific guy, he is lots of fun, very smart, caring and down-to-earth. He also makes a fine, spicy mulled-wine that's nice on winter nights. Dan can kayak all day and dance all night. Dan's traveling volunteer work in communities around the world is a great humanitarian service. I often hear very nice things said about Dan from many Couch Surfers I've met in my travels. I met Dan Song at Maya's party - our awesome mutual friend and had a nice convo. I've ran into him a couple times, but we never got a chance to hang out much. But I wish I had - he seems super nice.

Dan embodies the word kindness. You can tell he treasures words and exudes confidence; from his first emails I knew I was about to meet a soulful guy. Dan is such a great guy! I honestly don't know where to start!! He was a great guide when I met him in Berkley and he was a great guest when he surfed at my house during the invasion. I cannot fully express what a wonderful person he is ... warm, funny, generous, kind, thoughtful, intellegent, fun, etc. What it boils down to is that Dan is an all around great guy!

Dan organized my first CS event. He seems really chill and is a great person to hang out with, so open and down to earth. He has officially inspired me to be more of a hippie.

 

I met Dan in Memphis while we stayed at the same CouchSurfer. He's a really nice and interesting guy! Seems like he has alot of experience doing volunteer work and he really spread positive energy where he stays.

In one person you will find something close to what I call an old soul; a generous heart, an explorer, roamer, teacher, student, friend, and confidant. Dan was the first person I met through CS and I have never been so pleasantly surprised by one person. He has forever shaped the way I view the CS community and possibilities it has to offer. He has inspired me to continue on my journey of healing and has taught me to value the time we have together. I hope to see you again soon my friend.

 

Dan responded to a posting in the SF group I had made inviting people to go on bike rides with me. We rode Critical Mass together and hung out in various places the rest of the weekend. Dan is a special person - extremely kind, easy going, peaceful, intelligent, and fun to share time with. "Great guy!"

 

I feel incredibly privaledged to have met Dan at the CS potluck in April and again in May. We share a lot of the same values about Couchsurfing, what the community is and should be, and also about life and the world in general. It's fitting he is a fellow Nomadic Ambassador, as we could talk forever about his experiences volunteering, traveling, and in general being a kind, open minded soul around the world. He really epitomizes what an ambassador should be.

I'm Looking forward to more dinner's, potlucks, karaoke nights, and great conversation before he inevitably hits the road again - and hopefully, afterwards too!

Dan is a fun guy. I have now met him at several spots...several foodie events to the pineapple photo-shoot at potluck and then the wonderful times of camping. Had some fun talk about life, travel and other insane subjects of life. Look forward to meeting up again.

Dan Rocks! Next season we are going rock the Snowboards. He worked out in Tahoe this year, but I was never able to come invade his town.. But, he invaded mine! Those people in Central Cali rock, and Dan is one of them.. He would be a great person to kick it with, if you like to have fun!

How can anyone not fall in love with Dan!?! He has touched my heart and my soul, I will never be the same person again, and for that I thank him. I have met a lot of good people, but this man is different. Dan has an amazing capacity for love and kindness. He has a caring heart and a companionate touch. With him you feel understood; with him you feel heard; with him you feel safe. Dan is honest and true, but most importantly he is honest and true to himself and to his own heart. With Dan I have had some of the most amazing adventures and with him I have laughed until I cried. Dan, you will always have a place in my heart and always a huge hug waiting.

Dan introduced me to Couchsurfing and that was also the beginning of a friendship. One of the very most admirably honest, trustworthy, friendly, easy-going and warm people I've met, Dan is a tactful cosmopolitan wanderer through life and earth with a dedicated good spirit, yet maintains to be a silly bloke at the same time. Besides being a deeply caring human being, and all his other awesome qualities, what I really enjoyed about Dan was watching him interact with my son, Bodhi. He is totally silly and attentive and connected with my little man in such a fun, engaging and patient way. I felt 100% comfortable with him and trusted him instantly. I am so grateful I had a chance to host him during the Arcata invasion, I only wish we had more time to get to know each other during that weekend. This man's spirit is rich and his path is profound. Dan is a great guy - is good company and has a really cool personality. When you meet Dan you will know what I mean! Ive got to know him over the past months - if you get the chance to host this guy - take it! Addendum .... well time has passed by and Dan has completed his time for the immediate present in Ireland - all my good vibes and opinions on this great guy have been more than confirmed! Then I was lucky enough to surf his couch, well his very comfortable spare room (!), for a few days and Dan was unstinting in tryin to help me feel at home and show me his world in Sacramento, San Francisco and beyond .... a great, great guy and a friend for life!

Extremely positive experience. That's the truth. A few minutes conversation with him is enough to realize what an amazing person he is. He didn't manage to go to the airrrporty but he was crazy enough to even consider going. There aren't many "Dans" in the world, so if ever you're around him you have to meet him!

 

Dan's a very open and warm guy. Genuinely interested in other people, well travelled. Anyone would be lucky to surf with or host him. We've met a few times and I just wish he was my brother-in-law or something (my sisters should have such good taste). I would like to spend more time with him and hear about his extensive travels.

 

Dan has been a great friend since we met in Salta, Argentina. We biked down rainbow colored hills together and didn't fall off in the descent of 33 terrifying turns, or whatever the Argentines call it. It's been a delight to keep in touch over the past 18 months, and hear how his trip and his life have evolved. Great guy.. cant wait for our paths to cross again.

I got to meet Dan one weekend in San Fran when he was in town. We first met at the Muir Woods hike and we got to do much chatting about traveling, CS, and possible future meets. We chatted a little bit more at a CS lunch and then he stopped by for a CS brunch I organized. He has much enthusiasm for CS and shaping the Tahoe CS community. I plan to take a trip to visit him so he can teach me to ski! He is a great guy full of knowledge about Berkley. Next time, we'll need to do some partying.

update Feb 22, 2008- Dan hosted me in South Lake Tahoe for a few nights. He suggested a great place for me to take skiing lessons. He took me out to meet some of his workmates. He has an interesting way of cooking pizza. He made me feel very welcomed and at home. The bed in his spareroom was TOO comfortable because I had a hard time waking up early each morning. ;-)

Dan is a great host and dedicated to CS.

Dans a great guy, and I loved staying at his place. The views were incredible, and Dan really made me feel at home. Defionitely look forward to hanging out with him more.

 

i instantly connected with dan from the get go. from butchering karaoke songs, to shooting people with supersoakers from my balcony, from bodypainting for bay to breakers to shoving cookie dough in his face while he was sleeping, from roadtripping to tahoe and arcata, to drinking 2 buck chuck from the hilltop, i have found few people i've bonded with better. come back to be, oh danny boy!

Dan is the best of both worlds: he is pretty mellow and has a wonderful calming influence, yet at the same time he is really energized and enthusiastic about all things CS. A great combination! Dan is also really easy to talk to and has lots of great travel stories and advice. I'm really looking forward to getting to know Dan better and excited about all the potential Sac-SF-Lake Tahoe gatherings.

 

Dan, the n.1 source of information about fun things to do and marvellous places to see in Berkeley and the Bay Area! Plus, a lovely person in every possible way. I couldn't ask for more during my first weekend in the US than to meet such a great guy. I really hope to see him more in the future.
Update: I DID saw him, we met again! It was an honour and a pleasure to host Dan in Berkeley. Too bad I was still jetlagged and drained by a whole week of thrilling CS events, but I'm looking forward to seeing him again, so I can make up for that. Dan has an amazingly beautiful soul. He is charming, lovely, bright, cheerful and nice beyond words. Every now and then, it happens: you meet people whose vibrant presence is going to stay with you even when they're not around. That's what happened with Dan: I just knew he was going to leave a lasting impression on me. I had barely exchanged a few words with him and I already felt that I knew him deeply. That doesn't happen very often, and it's what I cherish the most in friendships. His warmth and kindness touched my heart. I'm so glad we crossed paths, and happy as a kid that I get to call him my friend.

Met Dan while I was staying at Rory's in Dublin and had a great time! Dan was very gracious and I am really glad to have met him!

Dan stopped at my "luxury?" appartment in Pristina a bit back, really nice guy and a pleasure to meet, hope you had a good time in croatia, take it easy fella

So many good times, so many amazing experiences, so many great nights out, so many Danwiches...

Dan is a very kind and friendly person. We enjoyed a lovely hike through Muir Woods with some fellow CSers. Hope to make it up to Tahoe sometime to visit him!

 

I met Dan in 2003 and a few months later we were living together. He is the nicest person I know; he is respectful, warm and considerate. He's well traveled, has lots of perspective and is also a great listener. I always enjoy his visits.

 

I went to a CS event after Dan invited my friend Sheh, and had a great time meeting the 10 people who attended the hike in Muir woods.

 

Dan is very open, easy to talk to about a lot of different topics... I enjoyed the short conversations during dinner.. I can see why he is a Nomadic Ambassador - lots of travelling under his belt and plenty of willingness to share/help... I hope his move into the Tahoe area goes well and that he will still come to visit us here in SF from time to time...

Dan is a CSer, traveller and global participant par excellence, as his very substantial CSing involvement, community work and planet-exploration make evident. But I also found him to be a spiritual explorer, and our conversations were not only stimulating but inspiring and really important to me. Thanks Dan; our short time together helped my head become a little less tangled - just what I needed, as you could tell!

 

Dan is the man, not just because it rhymes, but because he's a stand up guy, for whom the energy drink is not needed, who makes everyone around him comfortable and welcome. He's always got a smile, a story, a dance, and a lot more ready to give!
Update: I'm so very glad of all the time that I got to spend with this wonderful human being. His warmth, affection, introspection and embracing of life have inspired me. Memories a million.

Dan is a really cool boy!! positive and smiling all the time. I met him in Ljubljana through Nejc and it was a please to meet him, I´m sure that we will meet again.

Haven't u met Dan? for god sake! your CS experience is not complete.. he made me surf a couch B4 i was even aware about the CS, He introduced me to such a community.. The best people I met during my year in Dublin was trough him.. He never missed out one of my parties (did u?)and invited me to many others.. Great man! Soon or late we´ll see again.

 

Dan dropped the pen, the keyboard - everything - to look me up with Niki, and I am so pleased to meet him finally as I heard so much about the Crown Prince of CS.

dan was a complete pleasure at the pub the other night...he is a good chat, a good person and an adventurous couch surfer. i would love to travel with him sometime, or have him on my couch/floor/beanbag/pile of grass/treehouse... depending on where i might find myself in the coming years.

 

After meeting Dan during the recent Dublin gatherings, I had the pleasure of getting to know him better while we were surfing with Rory. Dan inspired me to be a more active member of Couchsurfing, and suggested ideas to help my community. Dan opened my eyes to a new level of Couchsurfing, not only that, he is a great individual with a positive outlook; I could learn a lot from this man, as could you!

Dan is a great guy with a lot of good experiences to share. He told me of some great advice about places to see and routes to take. I like his music too although, maybe I am biased because it reminds me of mine...

 

I hosted him and his friend. General it was very nice and I would give him a couch next time as well, we just did not had the same rythem this time. They where partiing and I was working, but they were no problem at all. A 3 days stay turned out to be 7 at the end... Was fun and thank you for the good dinner.

Dan is a very down to earth, interesting guy to talk to. He's got a good vibe that spreads to the people he's around.

Dan is a wonderful social person that wants to help the world by being helpful in social issues. It seems to be his nature as he this balanced, emotional and emphatic person. He's been great fun and he wouldn't spoil a drinking crawl. Even though he's parting for another continent I hope to meet you somewhere again! x

 

Dan is absolutely a positive, trustworthy, funny guy, great to spend time with and I'm saying it though we haven't had the chance to get tangled in lengthy conversations. And worth to mention that he can transform every nearby object into a tripod for his camera :)

I've had the luck enjoying Dan's company a couple of evenings in Budapest. He has very good personality and a lot of great idea. I definitely leave him an extremely positive reference and not just because he could blackmail me by the how-to-grimace photos, what he took of us...;)

Dan is a person. He is roughly symmetrical, and consists of a bipedal torso from which protrude two arms and a head. Affixed to or penetrating the front of this head (or 'face') are a nose and a mouth, which are topped with two eyes. Danito Canción is a playful, smart, witty, respectful guy. Loads of the best fun ever when he is around. He is willing of everything, from making up new words up to cooking a sudden yammy soup. If there´s no better option, then Extremely Positive is what it´ll have to be! From our very first ´Blind Date´ at a tapa bar in little Granada to his final chivalrous act of walking me home through the dark streets of the Albayzin, I have concluded that Dan is The Bomb. He is inspiring and thoughtful, kind and caring. Sure, it sounds corny, but I believe that everyone who encounters him will be left with a sense of gratitude for whatever caused their paths to cross with this boy. Word of warning though, try to prevent him from taking his camera out of his bag or you´ll be forever captured in the most ridiculous poses, which I´m sure one day will come back to haunt you...! A great person to meet with so much to tell and share. Just wish I had more time to enjoy his company! And he is an extremelly thoughtful guest :)

Dan is a great guy! He stayed at my place for some days and that gave us the time to talk, walk around, visit a few places, share some recipes and meet some friends. He was my second guest from Sacramento/San Francisco. They must be doing something right down there to produce such awesome CSers! Dan is a true ambassador with a very positive attitude on life! Haven’t tried the banana pancakes yet, Dan, but I will!

Being quite the nomad he says he is, you'll be impressed on how Dan still manages to find the strength and honest wish to spend time and share experiences with others he meets along way. His last few years are packed with awesome stories, and you can only be so lucky to share some of those, or maybe create some new ones!
Though unfortunately unable to host him because of a family emergency, I managed to find the time to share with Dan, and see that he still isn't totally insensitive to travel experiences even after all this time. Our "World's Best" tour of the Lisbon Belém area left him with a strong appetite for more Pastéis de Belém, and left me even more happy to get the chance to have met Dan. Just don't ask for any more icy slurpees with the pastéis, ok Dan!? ;)

I had the good fortune to be in Dan's company back in June as he was winding up his time in Ireland. He's an amazing chap to talk with and walk with along the sea. Oh yes, and we have had the good fortune of living in the same neighborhood in Dublin on the good ol' North Side.

When he arrived and we started to talk about cs experiences we found out that we already knew each other! we had been in london dec2006 on the same meeting. then we looked online for pics thru other csers and we found a pic with both of us talking! Dan was one of the hosts in Casa Miquel and gave every pilgrim on the end of their Camino a warm welcome. Dan was always around helping out and talking or making creative things like necklaces of shells.

I've never seen so much love given to anyone at a couchsurfing party than Dan and no one deserves it more! Prior to my arrival into Dublin, Dan emailed me a list of sites I can tour while I was there. He was very informative and welcoming as he invited me to meet up with him on his last day in Ireland. Dan is a beautiful human being. His rare kindered spirit makes him a people magnet, and Ive never heard a bad word said about him... I guess cos hes all good! He's very active in the Dublin cs scene, and Dublin and London just wouldn't have been the same without him.

I`d gotten a good impression of him first time we met. My admiration and respect for this man keeps growing as I get to know him better. Dan is the first American I've ever talked a lot in Ireland. He really likes Korean food so we became friend easily. He's also a good English teacher Sometimes.^^ He's really nice, friendly and sociable. Everytime I'm in CS meeting, I can see he's having fun with other Couchsurfers. Daniel is really a "bravo ragazzo". Good-hearthed and thrustworty, he is very active in social works and never miss to help a friend even when he is very busy.

I don't know a lot Dan, but I think he's a nice and genuine boy. He's funny, brilliant, kind, very altruistic. He has samba in his blood too!!! you can alays have a good time with him.

He's a really enthusiastic and energetic individual. And he's got a good sense of humour ;) Be sure to hit the parties and events he participates in, you might be in for some good craic!

its quite hard to write about ones business , dishwashing partner(he is an absolute world class dishwasher )and partner in crime when it comes to food tasting.His favorite line is, couch surfing people who dont do their duties and take advantage of their host make him sinical ( quite rightly so, i say ).
Often it appears he dosnt seem to fullly understand how people ( especially girls )are drawn to him, which is in some ways great as it keeps him as gentle, good natured, polite as he is.
being german ( ie very direct) i sometimes wish he wouldnt be so diplomatic and just says what he really thinks, but of course , i can learn from this too, as i need to become more diplomatic.he his a AAA+ couchsurfer and somebody i have respect for.

I'll say Mr Song is one of the coolest more positive and uplifting dudes i've met since i landed dublin.He's one banana eating loud burping fella with a heart of gold,and i'm reallye lucky to have found him again.

What a great guy to give me my very first impression of couchsurfing and hospitality club! Really, Dan is fantastic! He's fun, thoughtful, and open to new ideas and friendships. Oh god! I love this man.Met him at the Cafe Keith took me to. This is one person that lights up the room as soon as he walks in. He's the kindest soul you can ever hope to meet. Triple Amazing person. So much fun. He took care of me and made sure I was generally okay. Invited me to Nasim's house party after going to a mini one with Irish African drummers( Surreal experience). Crazy set of people, I ended up losing my voice. :) Had a lot of fun. Listen, seriously, if this guy requests to surf your couch, DO NOT turn him down, I tell you. DO NOT. I cannot emphasize any more than this.

My experience in hosting Dan is "I am so glad couchsurfing exists!", simply, because it is all very simple with him, it was just super to share Cork on that particular weekend...in fact it didn't feel like hosting but more like spending the weekend with friends! i met dan (unfortunately) briefly at a dinnerparty in dublin. he is conversational, dynamic, and from what i can tell an excellent asset to the CS community. also, he volunteers full time with old people--a task which i tried to do once and mostly ran away crying--and that surely must be a testament to patience and a sincere kind of caring most of us only scratch at. i suppose i could write more if i'd had more time to spend--which is why i am requiring dan's presence in paris at some point in the near future. you hear that, required.

Dan seemed like a really interesting person with a true CS spirit. A shame we didn't get to chat really long, but I hope I'll see him soon again.... :)

I met Dan in Dublin just 2 weeks before I'm leaving..que PENAAA!!!Dan is definetly the kind of person who I enjoy the company of...he likes what he does...he's quiet,funny, nice,crazy,kind,travelling...a little bit old&sick,but still alive ;)...I'm really curious about him and I hope to know him better...so keep in touch Danielito!

 

To put it simply, in the hour or two I had to converse with Dan he just seemed to epitomize "good guy".

 

Had a great time at Emma's leaving do which turned into a huge CS meeting. Dan up for dancing even when no one else was. This is good!. We'll have to try the Korean restaurant at some point, Dan. maybe we can create a CS meeting out of that too?!

Dan has been a fantastic resource for me in Ireland. He serves and a wonderful tour guide, accomidating host, laid back guy and now good friend. He was a fantastic host for me for two nights and would be equally as great as a guest I'm sure.

Dan is fantastic, we met in Peru at spanish school and ended up travelling together in South America. I love Dan's excellent sense of humour, intelligent commentary on life and enthusiasm for singing bad Ricki Martin covers with me (complete with dance moves).

Dan is an all-round nice guy and not a standard person in his interests, which is a cool thing. Only downside is he can not handle too much beer ;)

Shared a dinner and then went out for a couple of drinks, very cool guy!

Dan saved me when i was in dublin:) he offered me a very comfortable accommodation, always took great care of me and my needs (he even cooked at night and made tea!), simply a very nice guy! If you have the possibility to meet him, then take the chance:)

Dan is laid back, funny, intellegent, and very knowledgeable about where he is and where he is going. We had a great time together. He is the kind of guy who can crack a joke and make you laugh in any situation. I love you man!!
