I live with my daughter and rabbit. I don't smoke but don't mind if people smoke outside.
Beach, lakes, fishing, golf, swimming, surfing, canoeing thro' sea arches, nature walks, close to mountains (The Commeragh Mountains & The Magic Road), lakes, woods, the Copper Coast Geopark and Waterford city. Traditional Irish Music sessions:
Alfie Hales - Tuesday, The Ledger Bar - Wednesday,
O'Neill's - Thursday.
When you are here, make yourself at home especially in the kitchen (I don't like cooking). There are shops (Tescos+Lidl+Supervalu) 5 mins walk away. You are welcome to buy/bring your own food or share whatever I have. No gifts required, but I do like vodka so if you can get some duty-free I'll re-reimburse you. The odd housekeeping job is very appreciated but not required, I don't like housework either :-D
If you'd like to meet up with other couchsurfers you are welcome to invite them here. Join the Waterford Group and say hello :-)
I expect that your purpose is to explore the area and meet people, therefore you will not hang around the house all day.
If I have time I can chat and show you around but when I'm busy we will probably only meet at around meal times which is usually between 6 and 8. My daughter and I often eat at different times depending on our schedules so there maybe no "meal time".
CS Dublin has created a CouchSurfing Zone at the Elegance Bar - for random meetings with other CSers and CS gatherings.
The
CS Zone Dublin also contains really useful information about great places to eat, drink and things to do etc when you visit!

Hi, I was born in London and my family moved to Cork when I was 2. My one daughter (DOB 14/11/96) was born in Cork and we moved to Tramore, Waterford when she was 2. After working full-time before my daughter then part-time odd jobs afterwards I decided to go to college as a mature student. After juggling parenthood and college for 7 years I decided to take some time out and have fun couchsurfing - mostly hosting. 2yrs later - I'm now back working and am very busy with it, I need to earn more so I can go couchsurfing myself :)

How I Participate in CS
I have hosted, surfed, attended and organized events. Created groups, emailed random people telling them of groups they maybe interested in. I meet CSers wherever I go to help members to be active and connect with people. I hope to help make the world a better place by introducing more people to couchsurfing where they can make great friendships and travel more at low cost.
To meet up or get advice from couchsurfers in the area join the Waterford Group

Interests
Family, friends, animals, a greener planet/living and lifelong learning. I love music and wandering off the beaten track. I like social networking, online and in real life. I used to walk in woods, fields, beaches etc. when my dogs were here ... trying to fill the void since :-)
Philosophy
Hmmmm .... work in progress
Music, Movies, Books
I sometimes read and watch movies etc. but rarely remember the names of Author or the books - no disrespect to the Authors :-) I love all music except maybe heavy rock (depends on where you are when listening to it.)
Types of People I enjoy

Open, respectful, honest people with their own opinions that are open to the possibility that they like me may not always be right.

Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org Project
Brilliant!! Jumped in with 2 feet and now wake up with different people in my house nearly every day. I would like to promote it more for the minorities: families and people over 30's.....but all ages welcome :-)
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.
hi, i hve gone through your profile, its really interesting. wish to see you someday at any international meet-up.
Happy New Year.
Regards.

Crazy Labyrinth - not quite the obligatory game with us, but almost - was fun to play with Karen and Kayleigh, and the way they kept going back to the supermarket for another wee thing I'd forgotten was totally admirable, in & out like a weather vane :-) Mums and daughters got on great together, had great chats and just an all-round chilled time. Oh, and Zara's skating is coming on great - thanks for giving her the start!
I spent a weekend with my friends in her house and it was amazing! She was very helpful with the maps and sugesting places for us to visit in her beatiful city.
Couchsurfing is really part of Karen's way of life. I biked in for a potluck, and stayed to two days. Karen had multiple couchsurfers at the time, and it was really fun to hang out with other travelers. Big thank you to Karen for spending lots of time with us going to traditional Irish music sessions, to see dolmens and castles in the area, and walks all along the Copper Coast.
Right when we arrived in Tramore and were warmly welcomed by Karen and her daughter Kayleigh, we highly regretted the fact we had not much time there. We felt very sad to leave beautiful Tramore the next day and wished we could stay longer and get to know these two beautiful women better! Karen is a very easy to talk to, genuine and helpful person. She arranged rides all the way to Cork for us! Again, we were so sad to leave so soon and would love to come again and spend some more time! You two are always welcome in our place in Zwolle!
I have stayed with Karen for a night and it was really too short. Her town is beautiful and her door is litterally always open to anyone she trust. She is very caring about people and her house is filled with a very good energy. I hope someday I can go back to visit her and eat a fish and chips on the beach while watching surfers at sunset. This really was a magical moment. Thank you !
Karen is a really impressive host ! She is really involved into the CS project and she dedicated a lot of her free time to be a real good host ! She make us discovering her beautiful area of Tramore and she organize a luck pot to make us meet people of her area !
We spend real good moment with her and we are really grateful for her hosting !
We hope we'll meet somewhere and i really send her all my wishes for her big trip project !
Karen was my first CS host and a real great experience! She's CS host with her full heart and really loves having people around. We had the grand opportunity to join her to an interesting local radio broadcast about CouchSurfing and had a gorgeous podluck with her friends. Though I sadly got sick during my stay I felt very well provided by Karens „CS-community“ with reflexology, hot honey-lemon juice and chicken soup!((; Thanks a bunch to Barbara and Conny! And expecially to generous and trustful Karen who shared her home with us!
