Couch Information

Couch Available: Coffee or a drink
Preferred Gender: Any

I live in a small studio apartment right in the center, so I'd be happy to meet up for a coffee, but sadly can't host while I'm in Taiwan.
If you'd like to get in touch with me, please write me using this form instead of the contact form on Couchsurfing:
http://www.fluentin3months.com/contact-me/
I get about a hundred non-spam emails every day from around the world, and this is the only way I can organize them to reply efficiently. It may take a month (if at all) for me to get back to you if you write to me on Couchsurfing

I'm a CS ambassador, and when I have time I regularly organise meetings in whatever city I'm in to try to connect everyone in the program, local hosters and globetrotters alike. I usually host a lot, but always in a different city, as I change location regularly. Also I was intereviewed on TV for couchsurfing. I hope to help more and more as time goes on!

EXPERIENCE SUR COUCHSURFING

ESPERIENZA DI COUCHSURFING

MO THAITHÍ COUCHSUIRFEÁIL

First couch I ever surfed was when I had just turned 19; the first time in my life abroad. It was ON 42nd street in NYC - the world's comfiest sofa in a flashy apartment - better than almost every bed I've ever slept in :D and I shared it with my coworker who was also travelling because it was 4m long and L-shaped!!
Since then some unorganised spare-bed taking etc. but mostly used hostels - until I found this site! Hostels have their advantages, but I have enjoyed the experience of hosting and being hosted that I will definitely stick with this for life - even when one day I can actually afford my own flashy apartment with an L-shaped 4m sofa :-P
I have shown Couchsurfers around cities, met them for coffee and partied loads of course!! Also I've hosted lots of non-CSers everywhere but here are my hosting/surfing experiences with CS so far...

PHILOSOPHIE

FILOSOFIA DI VITA

MO FHEALSÚNACHT

I can't fly; but I can fall with style

"There's no such thing as the real world, it's just a lie you've got to rise above"

The pessimist says the cup is half empty. The optimist says it's half full. The pragmatist says its liquid contents are at 50% capacity. The ironist says it's half full of air. The practicalist says the cup is twice as big as it should be. The psychoanalyst says the cup is your mother. The punk sitting next to you also says the cup is your mother. The zen master says, "There is no cup." And me..., I say, "Waitress! Refill!"

E io dico... "Cameriera! Riempila!"

Want to learn: Pretty much anything, but definitely how to play the guitar, how to cook, how to dance, how you live your life, and am open to constructive criticism on how I live mine!

Can teach: Several languages, hoasts of boring scientific facts, travelling tips, the ability to act silly in public, sing, dance (but dance ridiculously badly, that's why it's in my to-learn also!) and I'm sure I have a few more tricks up my sleeve!

Voglio imparare: Tantissime cose!!

RUD SUIMIÚIL A NDEARNA MÉ

Nearly died 7 times, I had a brief role in a movie with Dan Ackroyd, danced with the president of Ireland and a famous Internet star, graduated university at 20, got arrested but managed to charm my way out of it, appeared on TVs, on the radio and in newspapers around the world, and in the last 6 years have managed to increase the amount of languages I speak (in varying degrees) from one to seven! Only getting started! Whoops, last amazing thing I have done is not recognising "ONE" in this question...

This is more than a free roof over your head; this is a network of nice people! Those willing to share for the sake of altruism and those wanting to travel for more than simple tourism. I use this program to continue the feeling of travelling even when I am fixed, so I can meet new people and find out their views on the world.

What do these numbers mean?

This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.

In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.

When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.

Benny is a language hacker and I have learned a lot from him - I stumbled upon his website (www.fluentin3months.com) a few years ago and we met when he lived in Budapest for a while and cracked the dreaded Hungarian. He is definitely someone that you want to hang out with.

Leaving a reference for this individual is not enough to describe him in my opinion but i will try to do it anyways.
Benny has became like a brother to me, and this is all thanks to CS for introducing to me. I don't think I would be able to meet him otherwise.
This guy is amazing. Smart, talented, great dancer, amazing talker, influential, party animal(without the consumption of alcohol), etc. etc.
Every time i meet him over the past 2 month, his energy brings joy and happiness to the people surrounds him.
His mission to learn gizzlion languages has made a huge impression in the CS Community in Istanbul. He is also very famous around Internet.
I had one of the best time of my life, walking around Istanbul with him to shoot his video about Istanbul. Priceless moments in my books.
True friendship lasts forever and i must say Benny is a true friend for me.
Crazy Turkish man will meet Crazy Irish Polyglot in the future!

Benny, with his allmighty soul, embodies the CouchSurfing spirit in any (im)possible sense of the term. Benny, the Irish, and I met in Istanbul to celebrate Quebec National Day.

Multinlingual and an epic-yet-sober-dancer, do not hesitate to meet for a drink this too-cool-for-school Couchsurfer!

Oh, and for God's sake, have a look at his blog... NOW!
