Groups I Belong ToCouch Information
Couch Available: Yes Preferred Gender: Any Max Surfers Per Night: 2
Shared Sleeping Surface: No Shared Room: NoYou can have the living room to yourself. My place is tiny but if you don't mind cramped quarters I would love to have you. I have a couch in the living room and enough floor space for at least 1 person. I live on the outskirts of downtown on 17th & A. I live close to the food co-op where I work. Downtown is a short bike ride away. I can show you around most of the week. I usually go to bed late so that's ok with me. Any time is okay for you to come visit, however i don't have any blankets so you'll have to bring sleeping bags. You'll have to smoke cigarettes outside. Any other kind of smoke is okay inside. And I'd say 2 days is about as much as I can host without going crazy. Friends (27)

Types of People I enjoyPeople who are and don't do. Teach, Learn, Share"In the time of your life, live — so that in good time there shall be no ugliness or death for yourself or for any life your life touches. Seek goodness everywhere, and when it is found, bring it out of its hiding-place and let it be free and unashamed. Place in matter and in flesh the least of the values, for these are things that hold death and must pass away. Discover in all things that which shines and is beyond corruption. Encourage virtue in whatever heart it may have been driven into secrecy and sorrow by the shame and terror of the world. Ignore the obvious, for it is unworthy of the clear eye and the kindly heart. Be the inferior of no man, nor of any man be the superior. Remember that every man is a variation of yourself. No man's guilt is not yours, nor is any man's innocence a thing apart. Despise evil and ungodliness, but not men of ungodliness or evil. These, understand. Have no shame in being kindly and gentle, but if the time comes in the time of your life to kill, kill and have no regret. In the time of your life, live — so that in that wondrous time you shall not add to the misery and sorrow of the world, but shall smile to the infinite delight and mystery of it."
-William SaroyanOne Amazing Thing I've Seen or DoneI drove from Santa Fe to Denver on scenic Highway 285. Watched a guy fix his boat on a canal in Amsterdam. Drove through the desert and thought about how little I really was. Taught English for a year in Czech Republic. Blushed at a laughing baby in Frankfurt. Slept in a Hungarian park in March. Explored an abandoned apartment building in Prague. Played house shows around the country all summer. Screamed and threw rocks at the Grand Tetons. Saw Animal Collective in a basement in Omaha. Drove through a double-arc rainbow. Got hugged by a complete stranger and loved everything. From Katie Lechler Tallahassee, United States Sep 14 Positive Israel is one of the most positive, enjoyable people I've ever watched dance over a chair in one of my dresses.
From Auren Kaplan Ann Arbor, United States Jul 13 Positive Israel is a mad cool dude. Stayed with him in Lincoln, NE and had a great conversation about all kinds of cool, hippie, existential topics (the kinds I like). Awesome guy, and looking forward to hanging/traveling with him in the future.
From Jonathon Kendall Antigua, Guatemala Jul 11 Positive Israel is a great guy and I highly recommend that anyone on here get to know him. We only had a few conversations but they were all super intense and meaningful. We expounded upon the meaning of the earth and people and love and war and...he's a great guy. Host him, travel with him. Rock out.
From Kelley Rushing Lawrence, United States Jul 9 Positive It was a little chaotic at my house for the fourth of july, but Israel and Katie didn't seem to mind at all! I wish I could have spent a little more time getting to know them, but from what I know they both very nice and interesting people, and I'd love to have them again!
From ARTLITE Warsaw, Poland Apr 4 Positive I can definitely vouch for Israel's skills handling and throwing 18-month-kids around, lol! He makes them future acrobatic pilots.
From Laura Firebaugh Seoul, South Korea Mar 17, 2008 Positive Israel was such a rad dude, it as a shame that we didn't get to hang out more but yeah he's always welcome to stay with me in austin anytime! maybe we'll get to jam out next time!

From Michael Robison Moulay Idriss, Morocco Feb 25, 2008 Positive You will learn alot from Israel. He's more than interested in all you have to say, and everything else too, really. His musical performance/atmosphere is good for you, it's necessary to see him play. so if you live in omaha or tokyo or dijibuti, it's important that you make your way to lincoln to meet Israel. the way he is living his life is inspiring to say the least.
From Todd Muchow Aspen, United States Jan 25, 2008 Positive Israel put on a show at my house in Boulder one night last summer and it was very memorable, to say the least. He is a very genuine, thoughtful, deep, person who's art seems to reflect his deepest emotions and experiences. I was overwhelmed by his show. He has a rich voice, provocative lyrics, talented guitar riffs, coincides his music with a slideshow that portrays tying images. Thanks for playing and staying at my house! You're always welcome.
From Zach Schroeder Omaha, United States Nov 30, 2007 Positive I live with Israel. It's alright I suppose. Except he talks in his sleep.
From Brooke Salvaggio Kansas City, United States Oct 15, 2007 Positive Israel was an absolute delight. He stayed with me and put on an impromptu musical performance for me and my friends. It was a very memorable night. He is polite and conscious and on the brink of many adventures. He is welcome back anytime.
From Melissa Peabody Denver, United States Aug 22, 2007 Positive Israel saved my life. Two bears, each coming from different directions-both with the same goal of destruction-charged at me with hungry eyes.In steps Israel, my savior. With 'bear' hands (pun intended), he wrestles the bears to their end. Value your life? Stay with Israel!
From John Miller Austin, United States Aug 14, 2007 Positive Israel is definitely a unique and positive person. He seems to take an original approach to everything he does which can be seen through his way of couchsurfing (potlucks and show). Definitely a nice and trustworthy guy who you don't have to worry about being intrusive and/or stealing your shit. Let this dude play a show at your place!
From BARGLED Eugene, United States Aug 9, 2007 Positive Israel has great music and a warm personality - I would have liked it if we spent more time together but the time we did share was wonderful. You and your friends are always welcome.
From Cheyne Willems Manitou Springs, United States Aug 3, 2007 Positive Israel plays amazing music, and creates a comfortable atmosphere to play it in. He's a creative artist, on a mission, and I would surf with, or host him in a heartbeat.
From Chrissy Giles Denver, United States Aug 3, 2007 Positive Israel gives me faith in the goodness of all humanity. We had wonderful, unforgetable conversations of Life and wonders and secrets and Life and funnies and theories and Life and love and more. He came as a guest and left as a friend. I miss him already!
From Erin Giles Denver, United States Aug 1, 2007 Positive Oh wow, Israel is so awesome. I wish he would just move in. I kinda think we will all walk around confused without him (especially Salad). Israel asks really great questions and will sing you to sleep. I hope he comes back, like, tomorrow.
From Brian Mayhall Santa Fe, United States Jul 28, 2007 Positive israel is an wonderful human and a mighty fine musician. he put his soul on display for my friends and i right in my living room. i managed to talk him into staying an extra night so we could hang out more. it was quite a treat to hear his music and his thoughts about life and art, he has got an amazing way of moving through life. i had a blast hanging out with him.

From PUERTOTOMMY Amarillo, United States Jul 25, 2007 Positive Israel stopped in Amarillo and performed his show for a few friends. I only wish I had better prepared for what he had to offer, because it was a really neat and interesting night of great music. He is such a nice guy and I hope we have to opportunity to see his show again soon. A really great guy that made a strong impression during his short stop here.
From Nomad Self Lincoln, United States Jun 2, 2007 Positive Israel hosted a party in Lincoln Nebraska on June 01 2007, I showed up with two of my friends and were immediately welcomed.
A lot of people came to the gathering and Israel greeted each of them warmly, including a person from the local paper, he then played some songs and got to know each of us a little as the night went on.
Israel is a great person and I'm glad I got to meet him last night, if you have a chance to help him host a gathering or to attend one of his gatherings do it, you will not be disappointed.
