I met up with Jeanette in Fukuoka and she told me about the city. Too bad I didn't get to spend too much time with her.

Met with Jeanette in Hakata for a cup of coffee at first... then she took me around town and helped me find some books on Japanese writing, helped me deal with some of the train stuff, and many other things. Really great girl, thanks for everything!

Jeanette! I couldn't have asked for a better time in Fukuoka! You opened you house to me at such short notice, picked me up, took me places were a fantastic tour guide and were so generous. I hope to see you again in Australia or Japan soon!

We had a great time with Jeanette. We met for coffee and had such wonderful conversation with her that we decided to have dinner together as well. She is a lovely and friendly person. Hope to see her again soon!

We met at the end of my trip and had a nice talk with Jeanette. Jeanette is indeed a lovely person. :) And I'm suprise that this is the first time Jeanette go out since she got hurt. Thank you for everything. See you next time ;)

I stayed at Jeanettes place with a friend for three days. It was really nice. She is a very friendly host.
She is very funny, speaks english very well and is a good teacher for japanese.
Also she organized a party with some friends for us, so we had a nice international evening in Fukuoka.

Jeannette is a very nice and open person, geared to others, full of energy and projects.

She welcomed me in Fukuoka, gave me precious practical advice, which proved very useful in the rest of my stay and took me into nice places.

We had a great time with Jeanette in Fukuoka! On the second evening she took us for a tour of the city by night. I had been living in Japan for a year, but I didn't know there were such strange yet interesting places as the (somewhat surreal) snack bar without snacks... Finally we ended up at a fancy karaoke place that had caravans instead of boxes, where it turned out that Jeanette is actually a professional singer. All our attempts to consume more calories than her while performing were in vain :-).

Jeanette made our stay in Fukuoka the memorable time that it was, she took us out with her Brazilian-Japanese friend to an amazing Brazilian bar and to a few other little-known wonders of the city and we had a brilliant time. She also saved me when I foolishly missed my ferry to Korea, and let me stay an extra night as I waited for the next one in the morning. Thanks for being so kind and accommodating Jeanette, I want to come back to Fukuoka and hang out again soon!!

We spent a funny afernoon by playing dominos with Blues and a wunderfull day in Fukuoka!

Some days after, william (a Bresilian-Japaneese friend) told me that she invite us to eat with her.
She invite me long time before I heard about couchsurfing.
We had some delissious OkonomiYaki, we laugh a lot about cultural differences ...

When I'll go back to Japan, I'll surrely visit her!

Wow! After reading everything else everyone had to say about Jeanette how does one say anything more about her.
Jeanette contacted me on a Sunday afternoon while I was doing shopping and errands, since I had no knowledge of the Ph. # I let it ring through to voicemail, and continued doing my thing, she messaged me right after to let me know that it was her that had called. I called her back and she scheduled a time to come by and checkout my spot.
Jeanette came by my spot and checked it out on a Monday afternoon,.On the following Tuesday she had surfers in her place so she brought them by to hang out with me as well, "I must have made an impression when she came over", we all talked and ate, visited for 5 hours until her surfers looked as though they were soon to be my surfers, they looked sleepy as little babies.
Jeanette is a grand person, funny, observant, attentive, smart, humble, witty, and a great conversationist. Her smile draws you in, and you feel all warm inside. Thanks J.I

I agree Jeanette is full of hospitality and super cheerful person, we laughed together so much during visiting Dasaifu shrine, having coffee and chatting.. Great. She is one of the persons you have to meet again, and I'm sure you will!

She is extremely friendly and hosted us like we are old friends, even we just meet at first time . She provided us a nice place to stay and also cooked delicious breakfast for us. She is enthusiastic to share us lots of wonderful things and also help us to print the map. She is the one that you can trust and make friend with.

I really appreciate Jeanette's super hospitality. She not only picked Pender and me up from the station but also offered us a drive to the airport. She cooked us delicious breakfast and we really enjoyed talking and sharing with everything with her. Jeanette is not japanese, she is may be british or slovenien, but she don't have at all the japanese comportement. She is open mind and laughs easily. We had a very interesting conversations abour languages. The presentation of her dishes is always perfect, and it's very good.

Jeanette has been lovely with me. I stayed for 2 nights at her nice flat. She cooked delicious pasta and gave me a very cosy bed. She even took me to Daizaiku to pray for the success of my exams. She showed me the good places in Fukuoka and we had a lot of fun together trying to sing "La vie en Rose". High Quality hoster.

We had the chance to stay for two days at Jeanette’s very comfortable and nice heated place, before we head of by ferry-boat to South-Korea. Jeanette is a lively, energetic, interesting young lady. We had some very nice talks and hope we can welcome her once in Europe ;-))

 

She hosted me for 3 days and showed me an awesome vegetarian buffet place, pretty much in the middle of nowhere in the suburbs of Fukuoka. We enjoyed a couple of beers together as well as karaoke, and I met a couple of her other friends too. I felt that I could trust her and talk to her about almost anything. She was open and shared a lot about some very very interesting experiences she's had in life. She was really hospitable and couldn't have been a better host!

 

I had the pleasure of surfing at Jeanette's place and seeing Fukuoka. Jeanette is a really nice person who is easy to get along with and makes you feel welcome. She took me out to her friends restaurant for a really nice dinner and introduced me to a normal Japanese breakfast. She's always welcome to surf my couch should she come to Sweden.

Jeanette was an awesome host! She showed me around town and I had a really fun time hanging out with her and her friends. I hope to host/see her next time she visits Korea. Thank u so much! She can tell you your fortune too =)

 

When I got to Jeanette's place I was tired from a few weeks of non stop traveling, so I was just happy to relax there. She also gave me the most efficient route and tips so I could visit the key sights in Fukuoka in half a day. Thanks for everything. Maybe next time we can check out an onsen together.

I really love this Onsen we when together in Fukuoka. Really great. I put some pictures on my profile. I would like to have it nearer, but unfortunatally is to fare from Spain. You should keep practicing Salsa. On my side I am going tonight in Belgium to a Salsa lesson.

Jeanette was our angel: She picked me and my friend AND our two bikes up from the airport. I don't know what we had done without her. Thank you so much for that!!

We met each other thanks to Jim and his mom in April for the first time and she showed us Korean palace. I couldn't but shocked quite since I found she knew more than me about my country! Thanks to her kind explanataion we had a good tour lol.
She stayed in my place for 2 nights in October and I really appreciate she put up with my messy room and crappy food, even I couldn't bear. Anyway I really had good time while she was staying in my place. My cats miss you already. Hope to see you soon.

Wow! Jeanette is a good friend of my Brasilian sis Nadia and I'm so glad she came all the way to Europe. She's a wonderful host, liked the beer I served her, taught me a few Japanese words and I think she packed more gifts than clothes! Jeanette was our host for 2 days, in Fukuoka. She is a very sweet, open minded and caring person with a great sence of humor. We had so much fun together! The day after a long night of good food, to many botlles of sake and nice conversation she took us for some relaxed sightseeing. Here James, another cs'er, joined us and we had a little party at Jeanette's place. Two great, fun days in Fukuoka. Met her with my host Paulius. I enjoyed the Kaitensushi & the walk around the garden, as well as the snack under the cherry blossom. Can't wait to see u in Hong Kong.

 

Do not visit Fukuoka without meeting Jeanette! She is kind, generous and funny, funny funny. Jeanette, thanks for tonkatsu and being so nice to us. We had a really good time. Can't wait to meet you again.

Not only did Jeanette open her home up to me, but she went out of her way to play tour guide for me and took me around the beautiful town of Dazaifu. She cooked some great Japanese curry for me and helped me with the impossible in Japan: Getting a train ticket! Jeanette was a big help in making my Japanese experience amazing! And then, just a couple months after my visit to her place, she paid me a visit in Korea! In she came will all kinds of goodies from Japan including green tea, noodles, and instant sushi! She played "chef" and gave me another great Japanese experience right in my own home. Thanks Jeanette!

 

Jeannette or Manami hosted me for a couple of nights in Fukuoka and she was a great host.

First night she came to pick me up from the station and introduced me to some of her friends in a small relaxed party they were having.

Although my japanese is inexistent, I enjoyed it.

Next day We met another couchsurfer from Canada, spent the day in fukuoka visiting a few interesting places and afterwards went to have dinner at a wonderful all you can eat, vegetarian restaurant.

Night ended with some beers and snacks, some presents, a lot of magic and fortune telling and a nice good bye.

I do recommend to hang out with Jeanette if you go to Fukuoka. She is great!

I am very glad I met Jeanette! She travels a lot and is very worldly. Jeanette is also the first host I have gotten to know more about beyond the "Welcome to my place." This is my third time staying with her, and I greatly enjoy spending time together.

Apart from sharing her place, she prepared my breakfast every single day; drove me whenever she can; showed me her favorite spots; taught me Japanese words and culture; surprised me with onsen; fulfilled my special desert request.

Jeanette is my soul sister, we know each other very well and despite the distance we are always in touch. We travelled together to Hong Kong and our time together (near or far) is amazing.

Jeanette was a fantastic host. Me and my mum enjoyed so much staying with her. We spent wonderful time with her in her hometown as well as in Nagasaki were we had a very nice trip together. Jeanette was the first couchsurfer I met(aside from a friend who recommended the website), and I have to say she gave me an excellent impression of the couchsurfing phenomenon. We met in Fukuoka and Jeanette introduced us to Dazaifu, traditional tea, a beautiful little temple, onsen, and a fantastic organic buffet restaurant.

A few days later, myself and another couchsurfer joined Jeanette for Izakaya and karaoke antics. Jeanette was an incredible host and I couldn't recommend her more!

Update: I have found Jeanette to have a warm heart, a kind disposition, and a great sense of humor. Her personality is very cute and funny. And yet, she is intelligent and full of interesting things to say, in addition to her insights and wisdom. It is truly a shame that I don't spend more time with her at present.

 

My "experience" with Jeanette was great !! First we met eachother to eat a fukuoka speciality, and then she hosted me the next day. It was awesome ! We talked a lot about interesting points of japanese culture, jeanette is a very nice and interesting person ! I spent a very good stay in Fukuoka thanks to her, and i hope come back.

"Jeanette" means : nice, open-minded, help, fun, croissants, donuts, ramen, Fukuoka, futon, ... and so much more!! It was so good to stay at her place, she also took me to eat ramen in Fukuoka by night, we talked a lot, and she is always wearing a so communicative smile!! :)

I met her during a trip with my girlfriend and she was very receptive. We did a lot together: dinner, lunch, bowling and temples, and she was always a very pleasant company. We had great time together.
