Groups I Belong ToCouch Information
Couch Available: Maybe Preferred Gender: Any Max Surfers Per Night: 4
Shared Sleeping Surface: Depends Shared Room: DependsHave 3 bed rooms, one for me :), and 2 for you. One has a reaalllly thick inflatable matrass that will take two and the other has a magic couch that turns in to a bed, which will also take to although it is not the widest bed ever. All rooms have their own door. I live about 10 minutes out of Utrecht city center (by the dutch favorite means of transport: bike) or 3 by train, as I live next to one of the smaller stations. Its a very nice house with a garden, although I'm still trying to sort out the final things.
No pets of my own, although sometimes the neighbors cat comes for a short visit.
I'm sorry but I'm a strictly no smoking person! The city of Utrecht is a nice old town which is like Amsterdam without all the other tourists. There is always stuff to do as it is one of the main student towns of the country. And getting around is easy, most of the time I have a bike available and otherwise public transportation is great (if you don't make it too late) and you can always walk anyway. Unfortunately I do have to work, generally from 0800 to 1800. But there always a way things can be worked out, and weekends are free of course. It would be best to take your own sleeping bag, we can always work out something but the spare stuff I have is not the best at the moment.
The length of a possible stay can always be discussed but one or 2 days should always be ok. Friends (124)

Personal DescriptionCouch addicted dutch person with a wee bit of a Scottish accent, looking to get to know more people and spread the word. In real life I am a top chef/ motor racer/ scout/ traveler/ philosopher/ music lover. In the time that remains .. and a bit more, I busy myself as a business process consultant.
How I Participate in CSI really got hooked I guess, since I started in 2007. At the moment I travel when and where I can. Being based in Warsaw limits my hosting activities, but everybody is moer than welcome (if you can find me on the site that is), and participate in local groups as much as I can, organising events of all sorts. And of course spead the word :)CouchSurfing ExperienceVisited several places over Europe, I especially love the events organized everywhere. When possible I take part in the Utrecht events, its a great team and its only just around the corner for me. Last weekend I even had 50 or so couchsurfers at my place for the midsummer night event, PERFECT!!

From Markus Bauer Frankfurt am Main, Germany Aug 11 Positive Jeroen hosted me at his lovely place in Utrecht. He is a great host and makes you feel welcome from the very first moment on. Even if we hadn't so much time together, we had some great talks and i hope i have the chance to learn more about your ideas! Thank you so much, i hope we'll meet again!
From Anna Kowalska Utrecht, Netherlands Jul 3 Positive Hey Jeroen it is so nice to know you ;D especially as you are a bigger fan of Pszczólka Maja than me! heh hope to learn some dutch from you soon, keep in touch and take good care of my Zubrowka as I've already told my friends that i got an awesome dutch vodka supplier :D ;D hugs
From Sebastiaan van Ineveld The Hague, Netherlands Jun 23 Positive Very friendly guy to have good talks with. He hosted me last-minute after the Midsummernightparty in Utrecht. Tnx for the couch and breakfast! See you again!
From HECTORUPS San Francisco, United States Jun 23 Positive I wanted to stay with him longer just to see if he actually has any fault. He is the man, I envy his humor, wide knowledge of everything and... his extremely light house with big windows!! yeah!
furthermore he has to go often to visit eastern countries for work.... hard life
thanx for hosting! see you in the collective ;)
From Akin Oladimeji London, United Kingdom Apr 27 Positive Friendly, humourous, maybe we'll hang out in Utrecht in the future.
From MBUREK Warsaw, Poland Apr 12 Positive I know that whatever I write here he will deny and say it has never happened, or it is not his influence, but the truth is that...
Jeroen's energetic approach to life encouraged me to become more active in Warsaw community (and also generally in my life, but shhhhh that is a secret ;) and pushed me out my house to start doing things for the Varsovians ;D Thx a lot for being who you are and being true to yourself (even at times when I do not catch your jokes ;)!
From Marta Hilgier Warsaw, Poland Mar 15 Positive Jeroen is an exceptional guy who is very openminded, cheerful, optimistic and creative. his motivating and inspiring self encouraged me to get involved in CS events. i hope the world has more personalities like Jeroen because such people make even a rainy day seem bright :)
From Ula Rak Izabelin, Poland Mar 15 Positive Well, Jeroen is a really great guy, who is pretty good organizer and he convinces other ppl to organize and take part in the events, he's open for others, happy to talk to you (or at least he pretends well ;) best salsa dancer I've danced with so far, he flirts and dalies a lot :) I vouch for him (though I can't do it in a proper way yet)
oh, and I love his hats :)
From Filipe Lopes London, United Kingdom Feb 17 Positive Jeroen is an excellent organizer. We had a couple of trips together, and he carefully took care of almost everything, leaving us the task to enjoy the ride :) Always polite and friendly, a great person to be with.
From Frank Flinterman Groningen, Netherlands Feb 16 Positive Jeroen has been really helpful during my first days in Warsaw. He has the typical Dutch charceteristics like having crude humour, enjoying games and being direct and openminded. He combines that with a kind of non-Dutch 'open door policy' for his flat.
Great to hang out with!
From GRANDBLEU Warsaw, Poland Feb 8 Positive What could I add?;)
Jeroen is a very sociable person, a grat organizer and always brings some really positive Dutch;) energy into every meeting.
He`s opened and respects people.
It`s great to have you here in Warsaw.
Thank you again for the pancake party!
Ewa
P.S> I tried to find the cute cat in your flat but only found the nice hat;-)
From Agata Bartkowska Eindhoven, Netherlands Feb 8 Positive Jeroen is a fantastic guy! The evenings we spent together in Warsaw were really nice. He is a great organizer and "entertainer". Oh, and I almost forgot - he has a fantastic hat!
From Maria A Acosta Bogota, Colombia Jan 19 Positive Jeroen is a gentleman, well educated, good mood all the time and very interesting for conversations. From Karina Nienałtowska Warsaw, Poland Jan 15 Positive I don't know him much but he seems to be an open minded, friendly guy with a drive to organize things, meet people, exchange ideas and share good time. He's got a salsa potential;)
From Brandee In Florida Coral Springs, United States Jan 11 Positive I am so glad that Jeroen was able to make the trip up to my place in Coral Springs for dinner while he was in Florida. We had a very enjoyable evening talking with the other guests, as well as being interviewed by a TV news crew who was doing a story about CS. He brought some really fun card games that I was looking forward to playing, but we did not have enough time.
Jeroen was only able to surf with me for one night, however I found him to be very interesting, funny and intelligent. He was a great guest, neat, organized, and willing to pitch in wherever needed. I would be happy to have him surf with me again. Take care my friend!

From Tim Harrell Warsaw, Poland Dec 14, 2008 Positive Jeroen is the Game Master, as anyone who went to his wonderful Murder Mystery 'Casino Fatale' can tell you. He knows how to "make a lot of dough" as well. A very welcome addition to the Warsaw CS scene. Here's to the next party, Jeroen!

He is a really really great host, I felt really welcomed at his place from the first moment simply great to hang out with him and don't belive him when he says he doesn't like to pretend as mother duck, because he is a very caring host.;) I promise next time I stay longer, but till then come to Hungary!:)

Too bad he wanted to fool me into believing he has trown a trunk in Scotland - no pictures, didn't happen ;)
