About Me

I'm a writer and an English tutor in Paris and I'm living in South Florida for a few months while I wait for the French consulate in Miami to issue my long-term visa. I grew up in Pompano but I haven't spent much time in Florida over the past decade, and I am very excited to become reacquainted with it, it's beaches and the people. And, of course, to reacquire some semblance of a Florida tan!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I haven't used Couchsurfing in many years. I used to use it all the time. After having spent the last few years with a more reserved posture teaching in Europe, I'm excited to embrace a fair bit more adventure for the next few months while I travel around Florida. Couchsurfing is an incredible resource and I'm very much looking forward to meeting great and interesting people, to be closer to the places I visit and to know those places better than I otherwise would were I to rent with AirBNB or stay at hotels or motels.

Interests

Writing and reading and traveling mostly. I genuinely do love meeting new people and learning from them, and I find it humbling to constantly discover how much someone else knows about something I know literally nothing about.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to your standard Classic Rock fair and a bit of the Romantic Jazz and some classical. I've been listening to an enormous amount of Chet Baker recently.

I love movies and books about travel and historical stories about war, and I have been known to binge watch on rainy days horror movies, one after another, not even good ones, just random budget creature features or paranormal scare fests!

Honestly, though, I rarely come across movies I flat out do not like.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, I've got stories after 10 years of on-and-off traveling, just like anyone would. But, as a writer, I'm far more interested in other peoples stories. I love to listen to what other people think about the things they've done, or the world, or anything really.
