Personal Description

UNIQUE - Usually i'm quite a dork, I'm far away from being a super hero and I probably commited more sins then anyone of us, but I think that just makes me who I'm. But I'm aware of it and working on myself every day. I'm a really sarcastic person, quite german humour. I dont really have a place which i consider as my home. I lived in Germany, Czech Republic, Scotland, the middle east and now in Australia. I'm half German and half czech, quarter Ukrainian and a little bit dutch too. I often get told that i have an exciting life. Might be true. But on CouchSurfing a lot of things look exciting. Don't get fooled by all the fancy smancy profiles you get to see here.
I'm restless and i'll never stop moving around because the world is my home. Everything started when i hitchhiked to Iran and back in 2009. It changed my life and im glad for all the experience i have made in the past years and the people i met. My life was always challenging. CouchSurfing became my family. But I had a dream and I believed so hard in it that I was able to realize it. I can create whatever I want to create. I want to do good and I want the world to be better, because I was here. It is my belief that if you are not making someone else’s life better, then you are wasting your time. Your life will become better, by making other’s lives better. I mean, he who says he can and he who says he can’t, are both usually right. I wanted to see the world and that was always my dream. But people told me this is not realistic, “You don’t have money, so you can’t do it.” But I tried it anyway – I hitchhiked around the planet, to warzones, to the so-called "axis of evil" countries and after a while I returned. Went again and came back again. What have I learned? Never let anybody tell you that you can’t do something. Believe in your dreams and you gotta protect them! It is only because they cannot realize their own dreams, or have none, that they bring you down. If you want to make a difference, tell me, tell the world and stop being realistic. Represent the idea that you really can make what you want and you will be fine. Everyone deserves a chance in my opinion. I will love you as much as you love me. Not You or I, only We. But yeah, just have a look at my references and you'll see what I mean...

- Happy Surfing! -

How I Participate in CS

I used to be an ambassador for CouchSurfing for about 4 years. I'm mainly surf and host people, from time to time i create meetings while im travelling. I love to meet locals on my trips and thats basically it.
I don't participate in any CouchSurfing politics. For me its more about travelling, meeting locals and other travelers. I like to organise events on my trips and to have a good time with others. I easily get bored by CouchSurfers braging about their great profile, vouches or references. You can only impress me with your amazing personality. Show me who you really are! =)

My hitchhiking trip to Iran in 2009

One of my most amazing and inspirational trips was definitely in 2009, when my friend Michael and I hitchhiked from Berlin to Iran, and after I hitchhiked back from Bandar Abbas to Berlin alone. We travelled through 20 countries and covered 12, 000km without spending a single cent for transportation or housing. In addition to this, we experienced the outstanding hospitality of the CS community in this world, by spending every night with couchsurfers. It was truly one of the most amazing periods in my life where I made many new friends and priceless memories. From couchsurfing at the Swedish embassy in Prague to sleeping in a mine field in Bosnia and singing with locals in the bars of Tbilisi, it was a remarkable adventure and it changed my life significantly. I experienced a lot on that trip and I faced a lot of complicated situations, though, in the end I made it through and ensure the tough times, making me the individual I am today. This trip taught me to appreciate the small things in life and to respect the myriad of cultures and religions we have in this world. It was at this time, and through visiting Iran, that I saw there are no terrorists in this spectacular country and had the great fortune of experiencing the great generosity and hospitality of the Iranian people. I was exposed to different cultures and religions, especially how peaceful the islamic world truly is and through this found that the media and the press are not always here to search for the truth, and that at times they are after their own gain, trying to tarnish the world to distract us from their own misfortunes. Along the way of this epic journey, I discovered the beauty of nature again, and was greatly inspired by the majesty and splendour of Georgia, undoubtedly one of the most amazing countries in the world. I taught and shared. I laughed and loved. I learnt and respected. If there is anything that changed my life I would say it was this trip. Life is about sharing – together we can make a difference!

Philosophy

"Vitam vehementer vive" Latin for "Live Life to its fullest"...I live and die by these words
Every day has so much to offer. The saddest thing is not death but the fact that most people don’t ever live at all...That would be one of my biggest fears...to go through this life and not experience what the world has to offer.

Types of People I enjoy

One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done

What do these numbers mean?

This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.

In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.

When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.

I had the honor to be hosted by CS legend and really cool guy Josh and his amazing gf Candice in Dubai. I really enjoyed staying there. I was lucky Josh was in between jobs at that time so we could spend some time together, having beer, sightseeing or chilling by the pool...chocolate on the pillow was just the tip of the iceberg of perfect couchsurfing :)
Thank you again, sorry for super-late reference and hopefully see you soon.

Once upon a time in a place called Mandurah, otherwise known as “sh*thole”, a rather strange German boy named Josh was having his early afternoon nap on a parkbench. As he lay there dreaming happily about vegetables and spiders, a giant Australian girl had spotted him from afar. She went by the name of Sharna, or banana...or shannon. Anyway, giant Sharna walked up to the sleeping Josh and kicked him awake yelling “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?? COME DRINK BEER WITH ME!!” And so he did...and that’s when the magical powers of Josh became apparent. He could make it snow wherever he went just by slapping his legs, he could turn Sharna’s piece of sh*t car into a discotechque, and he could keep smiling even when things got really really crap. Before long he got a call from a mermaid on a beautiful island offering him everything he needed. And so strange German Josh got on a ship and sailed away, leaving Sharna feeling very thankful that Josh came into her life right when she needed him xx

Josh! How amazing person could be?
There're a lot of things to say about him, but I can't write it all here due to 1k ref-characters damn! He's the one of the most passionate traveler that I ever met who's dedicate his time for traveling and meeting people from around the world, like he said this world is home, so you can be anywhere and you can have family wherever you are. I love his philosophy like nothing is impossible and stop being realistic, I'm trying to learn and think 'bout time to time, and make me realized that you have to believe in your thoughts, and create anything that you want, like he did, it'd be amazed you for real. We talked a lot and drinking session was great, had fun in jakarta, club, karaoke, waterfalls in puncak (I took a sick day for this) lol. He has a ton of story to tell, and you gonna fuckin' love this guy really, no matter where you are if you get a chance to meet him just fuckin' do it! and you'll never regret it!
Hope to see you again Brother =)

No words can described this amazing person. He is a very experienced well traveled cser who has countless amazing stories to tell. Of the many people he knew in Kuala Lumpur and other host who offered him a place, he chooses to stay with me which is kinda a privilege to host him. I hosted him for 3 days before we went off to party by the beach at Port Dickson. I am sure I will definitely meet you somewhere again as you seem to be everywhere.

Leaving a reference for Josh is not enough to describe him, not to mention with all positive reference, but I'll do my best. Josh is just amazing, his positive attitude is really infectious, and he makes everyone feels welcome. He's the person to have disussion and to dance with afterwards. I just love his witty and daring comment. He's an enegizer bunny who never stop moving. What else, what else? too many good things. But, he surely made me laugh all the time. Looking forward to see you at the other side of the world.
