Current Mission:
One can only really travel if one lets oneself go and takes what every place brings without trying to turn it into a healthy private pattern of one's own and I suppose that is the difference between travel and tourism. -Freya Stark
Couch Available: Coffee or a drink Preferred Gender: Any
I am unable to host at this time because my landlord threatened to kick us out if we had more guest. Sorry. Please lets meet up for a drink and to party or hit the beach.
I am not a travel agent- so if your needing help with a room please keep reading:
Cafe Lilliput, a restaurant on the beach in Anjuna has some rooms available. You can visit their website at www.cafelilliput.com/accommodation.html. You can reserve and book the room online. They are really good people who own and run the place.
Abhay, a yoga teacher in the heart of Anjuna, has a small house with 2 beds,2 sleeping mats and a bathroom with hot water available. You can walk to the beach in 5 min and everything is within a 2-5 min walk from his cute house. He can be reached by email at oceanicyoga@gmail.com and by phone at 9765491827. Call him to see if the room is available.
One thing I have learned about Goa and the east is, if your staying a long time, the best way to get a room is to pick where you want to live and start talking to people. Ask everyone you see if they know of a room or house available. You will see some not so nice rooms/houses but if you keep looking you will find a place you can enjoy while you stay in Goa. I always book a room online for 1-2 nights and then go searching. :)

I had a dream, to travel the world and I have seen a lot of it. I now live in Goa, India and love it here. I am a woman who is a country girl at heart. I love being outside, hiking, kayaking, participating in extreme outdoor activities, dancing, meeting new people, trying new foods, learning how to cook new recipes, checking out new countries and helping make this world a better place.
How I Participate in CS
I have surfed all over SE Asia and am looking forward to exploring more of this great world we live in.
CouchSurfing Experience
I have surfed in Frankfurt, Delhi, Bangalore, Hong Kong, Bali, Vietnam and Thailand so far and have met amazing people and learned many things. Couchsurfing is a wonderful way to meet great people and see the insiders view of a place your visiting.
Interests
WOW.I am interested in almost anything, especially stuff that matters. I love learning and have an open mind. I love business, outdoors stuff, other countries and what really makes them tick, trying new things, exploring, reading, music, dogs, gardening, cooking, friends, dancing, camping, biking, making new friends and the list goes on and on.
Philosophy
I live every day trying to make myself a tad bit better then yesterday. I love making people smile and helping others. I eat healthy most of the time and I know how to cook the healthy stuff so good that most people love it. I live my life knowing that this life that we have been given is precious and it’s our job to take care of ourselves and others. I really believe that I am what I think about and also a direct display of what I say.
Music, Movies, Books
I love all sorts of books, music and movies- I love self help books and great fiction. Tom Clancey is a great writer and there are many more.
Types of People I enjoy
I love fun, easy going, positive people who are helpful and giving and live life to the fullest. It makes life much easier to be around good people rather than energy vampires.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach about cooking, business, having fun and thinking positive. I would love to learn how to cook food from other counties.
One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done
The list is to long to put on here. I have white water rafted in Australia,Bali, Costa Rica and Colorado..climbed the Eiffel Tower twice..been all over Europe..been to the Great Wall of China, dived in Bali, Thailand and Australia and I keep exploring..never know what will turn up next. Diving in Guam, Caving in Alabama, Rappelling in Tennessee, elephant riding in Thailand, diving in Thailand, trecking in Thailand, visiting temples in Cambodia and exploring India..... lets see what else I can add to this list. :)
Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org Project
I like it.. seems to answer most questions and has lots of places to interact.
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.
It was awesome to kick it with Joy and Company :D Turns out that I was at the wrong coffee shop to meet up at, but she was gracious enough to come and meet me. Later we headed to a nice local's party to celebrate a birthday. She and her cohorts were friendly, inviting and very helpful in navigating around Goa. I wish her much success in her business and the hunt to find lifelong friends here in Goa.

Positive
When Joy responded that she understood my pain about traveling India as a solo woman and then proceeded to invite me to stay with her and her boyfriend in Goa, I felt such a sigh of relief. Once I met them and had the pleasure of their generous hospitality I felt blessed. They are incredible cooks and because of them I had a real American Thanksgiving holiday in India. I wish them much success in Goa.
I met Joy in the Yoga Institute and I find her very friendly & helpfull person..we always try to help others and share her experiences...I also met her boyfriend who is also cs Picnic in the Cs meeting Near Panjim..he is also very cool guy...I really recommand to meet joy and you will sure have really good time with her.....
We met Joy and Cedric in a CS Picnic and we'd been hanging out ever since!
We'd been to their place, they'd been to our place, they've cooked dinner for us, they've taken us out to a day trip showing us around Arambol... and soon we're going to have a Thanksgiving dinner at their place!
They are both very warm people, open-minded, honest and totally unpretentious. They speak their minds, they give freely and they're very hospitable.
If you visit Goa, make time to connect with them! :)
We stayed at Joy's and Cedric's house for a week. They were great hosts - open-minded, relaxed and thoughtful. They didn't mind our kids running around, laughing or crying. Joy knew how to play with them. She is an excellent cook, too. Cedric has a great sense of humour. We hope to be able to pay you back, guys, for your great hospitality one day. See you in Poland soon!
we met her today in cafe day . it was so nice to meet her and Her friend . we talk lot and share view . Hope to see then again and looking for long relation
I met Joy through a mutual CS friend. It is so rare to meet an American woman out traveling, let alone LIVING in India! We celebrated with a few amazing meals together.. for me like Thanksgiving and Christmas in the same week! It was excellent and unforgettable... Thanks JOY!!
