João is the real deal. He is so passionate about helping people and helping the world. He loves learning about different cultures and sharing his experiences and knowledge with others. I really enjoyed my time with João, and I hope to see him again!

I couch him few days ago. He was traveling from barcelona to lisbon by bike. He was resting during the afternoon (I cannot imagine how tired has to be biking all day long) and we had a picnic dinner next to Duero's river. We spend a great time together and it was very interesting to know he has been travelling all around the world during passed months

My friend Shorty is someone worth to know...active, good person, full of good ideas and fighting to put them in practice. Not just a dreamer! You will like to know him.

 

Joao is an excellent person. We were only one day with him, in his last stage before returning to Portugal after turning round to the world.

I met João through Tito in Lima. It was a good surprise to find a Portuguese guy there and can speak my language. For coincidence he was coming from Brasília and met a CS friend of mine. He was a great company when I was in Lima and later in Cusco when we met again. We talked a lot about his love for Brazil and mine for Portugal.
He is such a nice person. We and Tito had a lot of fun together.

João is a really interesting portuguese guy who wants to travel the whole world. He likes to talk in many different languages and shares the passion to understand other cultures.

João is a really great guy. He is the type of guy that after your netbook has been stolen on a 7 day boat ride will come with you and patiently translate Portugese to English with the captain. He will help you out whenever you need it, and without a second thought. He also has a great memory for languages and seems to know phrases in more languages than anyone else I have ever met. An all around smart, interesting, and fun guy.

Joao, became the best impression from visit to Portugal! I was amazed by his lifestyle and views. So far away from consummative approach we generally have here in Moscow. He inflects with his enthusiasm! And he can easily reproduce Russian phrases almost without accent.

I heard about Joao even before knowing him personally in a CS Meeting in my hometown, and I was very excited with the idea of meeting someone from Portugal, one of my passion and my second nation!
Even though it was a very brief contact, I had a very good impression of this guy. He's very friendly and spontaneous!...

Deep, spiritual, and the best cook of "bacalhau à Braz", me not liking cod and all I have to say I enjoyed it.

Conheci ele no Rio de Janeiro, estava hospedado no apto da Thais Bitto. Lá, ele havia preparado um jantar com directo a um bom bacalhau à braz... À principio me apaixonei pelo bacalhau, e nem imaginei que mais tarde, iria me apaixonar por ele. Porque, 1 semana depois, ele me procurou e passamos a nos comunicar por e-mail. Por consequência ele foi à Campinas, minha cidade natal, e ficou por 5 semanas. Foi ótimo! Passamos vários momentos lindos, os quais foram possíveis conhecermos um ao outro e iniciar uma relación que hoje em dia se propaga pela América do Sul, e pelos nossos desejos, tambèm acontecerá na Europa.
O Juaum é um ótimo gajo;): ético, correto, gentil, divertido, carinhoso, curioso, sensível e com um olhar diferententemente brilhante.
Neste momento estou viajando com ele pelo Chile, e depois, passaremos pela Argentina e Uruguay… tem sido um momento especial e único… È um homem e tanto… Que sorte tenho eu de tê-lo conhecido.

Seremos felizes juntos, assim, anseio eu.

Joao is a very passionate person, that was my very first impression of him. And I mean that from the perspective of a natural, beautiful passion one can possess for life and its numerous mysteries including other people that cross his ways.
I was very happy to welcome him here after being contacted and learned of some things concerning his personal saga. Really sociable, he's easily become friends with lots of people here and engaged in many different kinds of activities. We got along so clearly since the day he arrived, when we almost missed a party because we couldn't stop chatting! :) He's so young, sweet and simple guy but, at the same time, has already so many experiences and stories to share. João was one of the great surprises on the New Years Week in Rio. Always open to listen, learn, teach and talk about everything, we had a great time hanging out in Rio. Also, he is a very good cook on his country cuisine.

The most adventurous person I've ever met.

hey yo - how is it overthere ?
finally i joined it few days ago.

after that day , i seperated with masa , cuz i supposed to go to the gambia to learn instrument , masa supposed to go to mali. but anyway he didnt go there, finally we stayied 2weeks more in the gambia . i learnt djembe for 2weeks and i learnt kora for 5weeks overthere.
im sure if you see those people who is traditional musician overthere, you will like to be with them .

so , eventually i arrived in Madrid yesterday . when i was in Dakar i stayed David's house as well .

he is really nice guy as you told me .

Well he is quite an amusing person and always ready to build an interesting conversation. If you happen to meet him , be prepeared to be greeted in your own language.He surely does his homework b4 he meets everyone.

I meet him while his stay in Jo'burg and I directly liked his attitude.."oh, I don't know how long I want to travel around the world, maybe 2 years, maybe a week" -great to do his own thing. I mean what more must I say about a portuguese guy who likes "Fuechse" from the german band Absolute Beginner,... he must be a cool person, no other chance.

What a shame that I only met João for a short time, he's a really friendly and warm person, and I'd like to know more about him and Portugal! Although he couldn't host me, he still invited me to his birthday party. I was there talking with his friends and helping to make dinner, though I didn't have time to taste what we made...haha. I met Joao in a nice bar in Lisbon, and we started to talk, also with his couchsurfer Sophie, thanks to the common interest---> Couchsurfing! (I was talking with another cs member...)

Wow, I don't think that I can get any more positive about this guy!! João put up with my inability to pronounce his name and took me in like a good friend. I've meet João when he was around 14 at summer camps! He was also a freshman at my Univ. He's a cool a nice fellow.
