Personal Description

I can be shy but I'm very ambitous. I love an adventure and new challenges of all kinds. I don't want to follow the crowd and be satisfied by simplicity, especially having travelled and seen with my own eyes how much this world has to offer. And as cliche as it may sound, I agree it's not the destination that's important, but the journey itself. I want to live with an open mind, and always strive to learn new things.

How I Participate in CS

I'm trying to spread the word and let people know about the hidden gem of couchsurfing. Having only been a surfer so far, I look forward to the day when I can host people myself. I certainly want to give back some of the good that has been given to me!

CouchSurfing Experience

I first came across couchsurfing when travelling in Australia in 2006/07 and stayed with 3 different hosts there who were all fantastic people. In summer 2007 I had a 10 day trip to Germany where I was lucky enough to get some more surfing in.

Interests

Travel, surfing, snowboarding, scuba diving, camping, running, swimming, trecking, Society, people, discovering, exploring, wildlife and nature, reading, LIVING

Philosophy

It's so easy to get caught up in a society that you don't want to be in and held back by people around you but I'm determined not to let it happen to me. Life is not easy and it's not supposed to be, but it can be beautiful if we let it be. We must remember how lucky we are to live the lives that we do, and instead of looking at what we haven't got to appreciate all that we have. Trust your intuition and believe in dreams

Music, Movies, Books

I love most music, and different types suit different moods and occassions. I like reggae, ska, jungle, hip hop, soul and jazz, blues, chillout

Types of People I enjoy

I love meeting people from all walks of life. Whilst travelling I have met so many inspirational and motivational people. If you're honest, genuine and share any of my interest then I'm sure we'd get on!

Teach, Learn, Share

Never stop learning - we can learn something from everything that happens to us! good or bad.

One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done

In terms of thrill then jmuping out of a plane and 134m bungy..... in terms of culture then probably realising that the poorest people of this world are some of the happiest and most hospitable I've met.

Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org Project

It's awesome. What a genious idea. Let's keep it up!

Juliet and her friend Nina stayed with me a night during my summer in Germany, and their visit and conversation were highlights of my stay. Juliet has a rare maturity and relaxed confidence that makes being in her presence most enjoyable.

She and Nina came to place whilst I was reading my Harry Potter. I so wanted to go back to the book but based on politeness I talked to them. The moment I saw my watch that's 3 hours later.
What made me forget my dear Harry? It's the good combination of these 2 girls. Juliet is a gentle girl so she kept the conversation calm, yet interesting and full of fun.

Juliet is such a sweet girl, I love her attitude towards live! It had been about 2 years since I last saw her in NZ before her and Nina finally came to my (parents') place to visit me for a few very short days. Hopefully it won't be nearly as long till I see her again!

Juliet spent a few days with us a couple of months ago (yes we have been slack !) and it was a pleasure to have her and her pack, which is just about bigger than her, around. Whilst 'appearing' maybe a little shy and quiet she is very mature for her age and the conversations we had really showed how she is embracing and making the most of her current journey! It would be great to meet up again some time in the future and in the mean time we hope she is able to share the beautiful smile she tries to hide with many more people.
